Works exactly as it should, zero issues
I consider this one of those "no-brainer" products. At the time of this review, the price is below $12 (in part because the Bold has been out for a year now and there is likely a newer phone in the pipeline). For us late adopters (or those who need a second or replacement charging pod), the price is so right. To make this thing work, you need a Blackberry power cord (like the one that came with your phone). You can find a spare cheap here on Amazon. This is the pod only, no cord. My pod came in hassle free packaging, which was a nice surprise. No crazy plastic package to wrestle with. The pod itself is handsome - a blueish flat chrome finish with black plastic inside. You simply drop a naked phone (no case, as the charger uses little metal prongs on the bottom outside of the phone and a case would cover these up) into the pod and it does its thing. No cord to mess with. This pod is perfect for a desk or nightstand. It provides a far superior charging experience for two reasons: 1) no cord to plug in and 2) you can see the phone because it is standing up. I see nothing wrong with this - it's designed well, functions well, is described well on the site, and the price is great. Five stars.

Get the most out of your BlackBerry Bold with this Pod!
One of the things I love about the BlackBerry Bold is the Bedside Mode which turns your BlackBerry into the perfect alarm clock! You need this charging pod to get the most out of it. Simply setup your alarm, select "when charging enter Bedside Mode" from the clock menu, and drop your BlackBerry into the charging pod before retiring for the night. It's that simple. I had no problems entering or exiting Bedside Mode. Everything works perfectly every time. As mentioned before this sleek and stylish pod requires you use your wall charger to power it or your USB charger if you wish to be connected to your computer rather than a wall outlet. It securely holds the BlackBerry in an upright position with a very small footprint. I bought two of these pods. One for my office which looks really nice on my desk, and the other for my nightstand. This was a great buy and perfect accessory for your BlackBerry!

wonderful way to charge
Have had my Bold for over a year and WISH I'd had this charging pod for that long. I'm sure the pod was more expensive when the Bold came out, but especially now, with this pricing, no one should hesitate to get one. What a wonderful way to be able to charge the phone. Note: For some reason, the very first time I set the phone into the pod, nothing happened. I kept looking at it to see if there was something I needed to remove so that the phone would "connect" but couldn't even decide what area DID connect. I sat it into the pod a few more times, and all of a sudden, it turned to the clock display (which tells you for sure you are in charge mode). It has never failed to connect since. You don't have to push or anything like that, so I never did know what was wrong in the beginning.

Great product!
This little pod not only looks great, but it also has a little heft to it- it feels like it is built well. It has a nice little (very dim and subtle) light that helps you find it in the dark, which is nice. The Bold also has a setting that allows you to have it show the clock while it charges....have it enter "bedside mode" while it does this, and you have a nice little bedside clock, alarm and all. It's not too bright and doesn't keep me awake at night, so it works fine for this. Another nice thing about the pod: it saves you from having to plug and unplug the charger into the phone, thus saving the USB connector lots of wear and tear.

Fantastic!
This thing is the best! It makes life so much easier. No more plugin, unplug when you get a message, plug back in... It's so convenient to just set it down and be done. Like the other fellow said, it makes a great alarm clock. I gave four out of five stars because the mini USB plug in the back is a bit loose and sometimes disconnects from the base. That's the only minor con though. It looks good, matches the Blackberry, good, sturdy build quality and has a small foot print.

Nice item...does NOT fit Bold 9650
Real simple...this item does not fit the Bold 9650 series. When I searched for charging docks for the 9650 this item appeared. Amazon may want to check its searching criteria on this item. Good news is the phone itself sits in the dock and should fit with a silicon case as will. There is still room to charge the phone via the micro-USB port. Basically a nice decorative piece. For the price it's not worth returning so I'll keep it.

Good looking pod allows using the Bold as an alarm clock.
I use my BlackBerry Bold as my alarm clock, so I find this charging pod a necessity allowing to see the time as the wee hours of the night. The pod is lightweight and the loose fit allows retrieving the phone while leaving the pod in place. The led on the back stays lit at all times, and while great to find the pod at night without turning on the lights, perhaps it should turn off once the phone sits in it. Unfortunately, there are a few pesky bugs in the OS that this pod uncovers. I have the phone setup to "Enter Bedside Mode" when charging. Removing the phone from the dock prompts the question: Do you want to exit Bedside Mode? Yes/No. Well, Yes means No, and No means Yes--meaning, if one answers Yes, the phone remains in bedside mode. This doesn't happen if charging the phone through the USB port. Closing words, the Bold should ship with the charging pod in the box, or a rebate coupon to get it free. It adds sufficient usability to make it almost a requirement, and with the bold price (pun intended) there is no excuse. All said, I definitely recommend!

My Blackberry 9000/Bold does not over heat with this product
The Blackberry Bold has an overheating issue when plugging into wall and or using the usb port in a computer. I purchased my bold on 12/26/2008 and when I charged it (using the included charging cord), it overheated. I was hot once I finished charging it and it became progressively hotter as time went on. So I removed the battery and placed it back in. It then cooled down but the battery was drained. I charged it again and had the same issue. I took it back to the AT&T store and let them feel it for themselves they could feel the heat right through the box. They replaced it but the same thing happened to the replacement. I called the store and they told me to call AT&T about this. AT&T told me that they knew nothing about this issue. When I went online I found out that AT&T knew very well about this and actually delayed selling this phone in their stores due to this issue. When I discovered this item I noticed that it it mentioned that the phone will not overheat in its discription. I decided to purchase this charging pod before giving up on this wonderful phone. This pod works great and I never have had this issue while using it. I highly recommend it unless you want an overheating problem. I also found that the Bold overheats while using some sockets but not others. The socket that I used, I used through a power surge protector and when I plugged it into my computer I was glugging it into a brand new iMac. So, it was the phone not where I was plugging it into.
