New Car Scent

So I do like the scent. It's not too overwhelming. Although it doesn't smell like what you expect a new car to smell like. It smells like soap, a rather familiar scent because I felt like I've smelled this specific scent somewhere. The housing of the air freshener itself is rather large, like almost the size of an iPad mini. The only downside is that you cannot control the scent intensity. Some people suggest that you should punch holes in the foil instead of peeling it off completely because the scent can be a little strong at first, but I think I'll just peel it all off and put clear tape over the holes in the lid so that way I can decide how strong I want it and peel it off as the air freshener reaches the end of its life. Still debating whether I should use the this new car scent or the squash scent for my car because I like both of them.

I purchased the Treefrog New Car Scent freshener, I read some great reviews of Amazon for this product and was excited to try it. However, once I opened and tried the product it definitely did not meet up to my expectations. Firstly, the scent doesn't smell anything like new car scent instead it has a cucumber smell to it which isn't so terrible if you smell it up close however once it diffuses throughout your car the scent is very unattractive. I put this thing under my seat, however, took it out and purchased my regular car freshener because the smell of this thing is quite terrible, especially if left in a hot car it just smells like a rotting cucumber. I had high expectations for this product considering the price and the fact that it is a Japanese formulated product, however, I would never purchase this again at least not in the same scent. You're better off with Febreeze or Yankee Candle than this expensive terribly smelling product.

Nice product. You barely notice it is there. No musty smell in the car anymore.

bought because so many people said the scents were great and you could smell them quite well.. i could not smell this air freshener in my car unless i put it on the console in the front middle area right by my elbow. not worth what i paid

So to address the first question most people are probably wondering, what is their version of New Car Scent. The simplest way to explain this is the New Car Scent is very close to a sweet crisp and clean Cucumber scent. It is a very light and pleasant scent, almost ethereal, like walking through a forest with a light gentle breeze blowing sweet air around you with scents of cucumber mixed with some sweet flowers mixed in. If you are used to the American style of New Car smell from the little trees you hang on your rearview mirror or leathery scent spray, this is nothing like that. If those smell are what you're after, this isn't for you. If you like clean light, not overbearing scent in your car, this is for you. In comparison to the Black Squash scent, this is much lighter and weaker. You will have to open all the pores and somehow let a good amount of air flow over it otherwise you may never really smell it at all, unlike the Black Squash where on its own will fill the car with its scent. If you feel the Black Squash to be to powerful, try this New Car scent or the Marine Squash one.

First of all, to those of you who are complaining about the New Car Smell not smelling like "New Car". Well no sh*t lol you're putting it in your dirty car. New Car ISN'T "New Car" to begin with, it's just the name of the scent(Like Ocean Breeze, or Pink Sand) obviously Ocean Breeze isn't going to smell like Ocean Breeze... Go have your vehicle professionally detailed and then put this in it(The scent in mine lasted over a month). I've been in the detail business for too many years to know you can't just throw a scent in your car to mask odors, if you have a clean vehicle & keep it clean (im talking not just a vac, you need to extract your carpets every 6 months) these will do what they are supposed to do

This scented product works from the first open and lasts for several weeks, which is better than any other scented product on the market. Completely recommend for the money

Not a new car smell. Also says on the packaging to keep away from heat and keep at room temperature, which doesn't make sense during the summer.
