We did this as a Father's day gift and it's great. I questioned this much cash for an ice cream scoop, but it's the last one we will need. No coating to flake off like that old one we had, no moving parts to break, no bent spoons... it works great on that rock hard ice cream from the good freezer and everyone in the family can use it. The kids run it through the dishwasher, so far it seems fine. It was a great gift from the kids to dad. I'm thinking grandpa might like it too... Go ahead, buy it, they will like it and maybe they'll scoop you a little more ice cream too!

I purchased this ice cream scoop for my mother who owns an ice cream shop. She recently developed carpal tunnel syndrome and it had become difficult for her to scoop without developing excruciating pain in her wrist. After a quick learning curve to begin using this scoop, she has reported a vast decrease in pain when scooping ice cream now. She absolutely loves this scoop, and the fact that it comes with a 100% lifetime warranty makes it that much better. The quality of the scoop is amazing and I have no doubt that it will last a lifetime. Excellent product and well worth $35. I just wish I had found it sooner to help out my mom.

Bottom Line Up Front: This is hands down the best ice cream scooper I've ever used in my whole entire life. Everything about this product is high end, from the box it comes in, to the handling of the actual product. However, I'm not sure it's worth the $35 price tag. From the moment I saw the box for this scooper, I knew it was going to be a high end, high quality product. The box (as seen in the pictures) is what you would expect from an Apple product. Like any Apple product, the box itself looks expensive. Once you get a hold of the scooper, it's got a very solid and distributed weight to it. It's got a solid feel to it and heavier than I expected. However, the weight makes it feel even more premium. When scooping ice cream with this baby, it's as smooth as anything I've experienced. It requires almost no lateral push and I was able to scoop up my favorite coffee flavored Haagen Dazs ice cream with no problems. The problem with this product is the price. No matter how premium a ice cream scooper is, it's still only an ice cream scooper and it's very hard to justify the $35 price tag. I think if you can afford this and/or you're an ice cream addict, this product is perfect for you. Also, if you work in the ice cream selling business the price is reasonable--I can imagine this being a very small price to pay for more productive employees. If you're into Apple products, this product is definitely for you and you probably won't regret it at all. Pros: -Awesome quality. I like it but wouldn't call it the worlds greatest ice cream scoop. Yes, one can jam the scoop directly into a fresh container of ice cream and get the resulting "perfect scoop" but that is not how one actually typically dishes up ice cream. The very large handle makes it difficult for those with smaller hands to hold the scoop and scoop around the outside of the container. I do admire the fantastic quality and design aesthetic, it is no doubt a beautiful design. I would venture that ice cream spades are more efficient and easiest to use. For classic ice cream "scoops" use the old style Zeroll style scoops you see used in ice cream shops. They are typically solid aluminum or have a fluid filled handle for heat retention.

FOR ALL THE HOME MADE ICE CREAM MAKERS OUT THERE YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED THIS SCOOP! Solid one piece and no way to bend this scoop. This is worth every cent we paid for it. I know this will be the last ice cream scoop we ever purchase due to its durability and solid construction. LOVE THIS SCOOP!

My husband still freaks out we paid so much for an ice cream scooper but I ain't bending anymore spoons. It feels like it melts the ice cream just enough to easily scoop even when the ice cream is frozen like a rock. It's crazy. I can tell it will be a kitchen utensil that will last for years. It will come in handy when I'm older with arthritis. I would post a pic but it looks just like the one in the video- silver.

Midnight Scoop-One Piece Durable Solid Aluminum Ice Cream Scoop 3oz size is a high end ice cream scoop. Scoop is curved and smooth. Scoop has heavy weight on the rear handle and wide. Wide rear allows hand to push the scoop into ice cream with palm of hand instead of wrist action. Sharp front tip allows ice cream to be cut through and then use leverage of curved shape to lift upward like shovel without having to use wrist to pull and curl the ice cream into a ball shape scoop. Just plunge into ice cream, and let the weight of the handle lift the ice cream up and out. Ergonomic rear handle is wide and allows hand's weight to sit and leverage the weight into ice cream and get a good size ice cream scoop out easily. It washes easily as surface is polished to a mirror shine. I didn't know aluminum can be this shiny mirror finished like an iPhone's aluminum body.

I am sure that everyone thinks the same thing when they open the box - that is overkill. But once you put it in your hand and use it for ice cream - soft or hard - you will see that it truly is the best scoop out there. And I completely agree with the other many reviews that I now have a scoop I never need to replace.

This is the most gorgeous I've cream scoop I've ever seen. It looks like it could survive a nuclear blast, but it's actually not as heavy as I'd expected. It also works very, very well. The ergonomic design and solid construction allow me to bring my whole weight to bear with little effort. I tried it on an extremely solidly frozen tub of ice cream. Don't get me wrong, there was effort involved, but it was almost magic. Where I would have been chiselling off tiny flakes with any other scoop, with this one, I could easily and comfortably bring enough force down to actually carve out scoops of ice cream. Being solid stainless it's dishwasher safe, but I'll hand wash it, it's just too damn beautiful to risk.

I love the quality of this ice cream scoop and I love that it's dishwasher safe. However, I didn't really find it any easier to use than my old basic scoop. On hard ice cream I still had to push a lot and wiggle it back and forth for it to cut through the ice cream so I could scoop it out. The videos of this scoop all show scooping from a large pail of ice cream, but it doesn't work that great on a smaller tub. You can't really get anything scooped up before you're at the end of the tub. I would not buy again and wish I had tried it before the return window closed.

Purchased for a family member that has an issue with their wrist. Easy to use.

This ice cream scooper glides easily through a bucket of ice cream. Much easier than any other scoop I have tried (and I grew up on a dairy farm where we sold ice cream!)

Really goes through the ice cream so easily. Standard scoops cause wrist pain, but not this one! Would highly recommend it.
