This Peg Board Set is Fun and Educational at the Same Time!
I first heard about this peg board set from my sister-in-law who is using it for her two-year-old son and really liked it so I ordered it for my three-year-old twins. My kids got this for Christmas and it has been one of their favorite toys so far! Here is what is included in the set: 1- 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 1/4" foam peg board. The description says the boards are assorted colors and we received an orange one. It has a total of 25 evenly-spaced holes where you can insert the pegs. 30 pegs in 6 different colors (5 each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple). They are each about 2" tall and about 1 1/2" in diameter with a hole in the top so you can insert a peg. The pegs are made of a hard plastic material. 1 drawstring bag for storing and carrying around the board and pegs. It is made of a nice cloth material that would be easy to wash if it gets dirty. When we first opened the set, the holes were a bit tight but all it took was keeping the pegs in the board overnight and the holes had loosened up enough so my kids could easily put the pegs in the holes themselves. You can use this on carpet and hard, flat surfaces and it will work well. There are so many fun possibilities for this set which will help with fine motor skills! Kids can practice counting, naming colors, stacking (we've been able to stack about 10-12 pegs before the tower falls over), and grasping small objects and placing them in the holes, just to name a few. I can already tell that my kids' fine motor skills are improving even within the short amount of time we've been using this and I definitely see us using this for many years to come. This peg board set is a wonderful idea for anyone whose child needs some more work with fine motor skills or just to use as a fun, educational toy. Even I enjoy using it with my kids so it would probably be enjoyable for people of all ages. I feel it is priced fairly reasonably and I really like the great quality that we received with this set. My kids and I are very happy with this toy and I would highly recommend it to anyone with young children!

Great for OT, sensory processing\adhd!
I got this for my 4 year old son to do occupational therapy at home to work on his fine motor developmental delay, help adhd, AND to help extend his frustration tolerance. This helps with ALL of that! Fine motor activities frustrate my son because they're difficult for him and they make him focus. So when playing with his pegboard, he has to use fine motor skills (helping that developmental delay), focus (helping with his adhd), and when he gets frustrated, this is something I can easily coax him to continue doing through that frustration, therapy increasing his tolerance for it. I really can't say enough positive things about what this pegboard does for my son! Quailty wise, its sturdy, colorful, the pegs are chunky enough for my son to grasp but not so chunky that it's too easy for him. And the drawstring bag it comes with is great, because when we aren't using it, the bag makes it easy to hang up out of my toddler's reach, preventing any pegs from going missing! Speaking of my toddler, she's 18 months old and thinks big brother's pegboard is the coolest thing! I use it as a busy bag for her too if I need to feed the baby, do dishes, etc without her underfoot, and it keeps her completely absorbed 10 to 15 minutes, which is huge for her! The company also emailed me an ebook with printable cards for patterning, etc, which is great because my 5 year old is obsessed with patterning! So I'm using this with my 18month old, 4 year old with special needs, and my 5 year old!! I really could not be happier with our pegboard!!

Our Granddaughter LOVES the Peg Board Set!!!
We bought this for our granddaughter's 2nd birthday, and she absolutely loves it! We weren't able to get any really good pictures of her playing with the Peg Board Set which is unfortunate. When we were getting ready to leave and come back home from her birthday weekend, she was in the living room stacking the pegs on top of one another to see how tall of a tower she could build. She had one tower eight pegs high, and another ten pegs high. She wanted to take it to church with her, but her Mommy was able to explain that she couldn't take it to church, but that they would play with it when they got home, and she was very happy with that response. I believe our granddaughter will enjoy the Peg Board Set for many years to come, and we are so glad we purchased it for her. Also, we were very pleased with the bag that the Peg Board Set came in. The cloth bag appears to be heavy duty and our granddaughter is able to put the peg board and pegs in it with no frustration at all. We were also happy that it came with the storage bag so the peg board and pegs won't be laying all over our son and daughter-in-law's house. Our granddaughter puts each toy away once she has finished playing with it, and she really enjoys closing the bag up once she has put everything away. We think this is a great gift for any child, and it teaches them colors, as well as using their motor skills. Skoolzy, you did a great job when you designed and created this toy!

Good toy, but you have to "proof" before giving it to child
Overall this is a good toy, with caveats. It is attractive and has clear educational value. However, it doesn't come ready to use "out of the box." You have to proof the pegs and condition the foam board before giving it to a child. Critiques: 1. There is a minor safety hazard related to fabrication. Most of the plastic pegs have barbs ranging from small to quite prominent (see photo). They are sharp and can hurt when grasping the pegs. In my opinion, the barbs need to be filed down or shaved off to prevent scratching and poking. Of the 30 pegs I received, 22 needed to be proofed for safety. 2. Another consideration if you plan to give this as a gift: The foam board has to be conditioned, which means you have to keep the pegs in the holes overnight. Otherwise, the holes are too small for the child to place in pegs. 3. It is hard to distinguish the purple from the blue pegs because they are so dark. I wish one or both were lighter in shade so that they were more distinguishable. Positive notes: 1. The carry bag is convenient and fun. My child really likes playing with it: he puts the pieces in and takes them out. He enjoys wearing the carry bag like a backpack for an easy take-along. 2. The downloadable peg board activity guide helps the parent and child get more out of the toy. It includes good learning activities. You receive it via email as a PDF file after purchase. 3. The pegs stack well and seem to be a good size for little hands. Hope this was helpful!

Great set for a toddler
I bought this pegboard set for my 19 mo old after reading all the wonderful reviews and thought this would be a great way for my son to learn his colors. The package arrived quickly with Prime. It comes with a small washable fabric bag to carry the board and pegs inside (which is great because it has 2 draw strings on the side that can easily allow this to be worn as a back back). 30 pegs that are large enough for a toddler to hold onto easily. The peg board is a soft foam so the pegs aren't so hard to push into it, even for a toddler. The board isn't chew proof though, as you can see in my picture (we have a kitten, so the board has a few chew marks on it. otherwise, the board is holding up well). My son likes to stack the pegs and then pull them all apart. Right now he likes pulling them all off the board more than he does putting them back on, but I guess it's all in fun. These are easy to teach counting, colors (bright colored pegs) and motor skills. I'm sure this set will be around for quite a long time as my son grows up, he will be able to continue playing with the pegs. This would also make a great gift. I'd highly recommend this set.

Awesome toy, grows with child
I ordered the peg set as a present for my niece for her second birthday, and it was an instant hit. My niece enjoys piling and re-piling the pegs and testing how high she can pile them. She cracks up when the stacks fall over. In the process of playing with the pegs, she has become more interested in identifying and naming colors, and has started to do so accurately. Along with the toy, you receive an activity guide by email, which contains patterns for the children to copy as well as advice for parents on how to use the toy to develop fine motor, organizational, and mathematical skills. These activities are a little over her head now, but that just goes to show that this toy has the potential to โgrowโ with the child and become interesting in different ways as the child grows. The backpack is a wonderful additional feature. My niece takes the game wherever she goes and she loves the sounds the pegs make when she runs around with the bag on her back. Iโm extremely happy with the purchase and would definitely buy this again.

A lasting hit.
Each day these could be umbrellas or flowers, or skyscrapers in a city. Sometimes we are just counting, sometimes sorting. It's fascinating how much play can be derived from these, despite the only variety being the color. Its a very simple function, stacking one "tee" into another while the soft foam base flexes if they get too tall. The toy provides many lessons, and seems to be a persisting interest. This was a bit more than it really could be, and somehow is still great value.

Peg quality not as anticipated, but the rest of the stuff is okay. Still giftable, though.
I got this set for my 2 year old, she just barely turned 2 less than a month ago. She loves educational toys and loves learning! It seemed like maybe this was the leading brand in toy peg boards and the others were all knock-offs/generics. So I paid the higher price tag for this set. I also liked the string for lacing, despite obviously needing to be extra careful with both the lace and the bag's strings. Here's the BUT part. The peg's quality is just "meh," not that impressive. In my personal opinion, the plastic seems as if it could break easily. The foam seems okay, the lace for lacing is like a normal shoelace, it's just the pegs I'm not jazzed about. I just expected them to be a nice durable plastic. At the time of purchase there were other brands that were more affordable and now I'm wondering if they would've been just as good? We're keeping this set, I'm a busy Mama and my LO loves playing with this. I love how versatile it is that she can stack the pegs into little peg towers, she can color sort, count, play a game with the dice, practice lacing, etc. It's really just the poor quality of the pegs that I don't like, lol. The first day i got this and played with my daughter it kept her attention for 30-40 minutes, which for her is amazing. Now it only keeps her attention for about 10-15 minutes but still more than some toys.

Not worth the money
Only comes with pegs and foam board. There was no bag, no thread, no colour die. Not worth the money
