Motorcraft- EV228B Valve

I received only the valve and not either of the connectors as shown. Sent back for a replacement and replacement was missing the connectors. Had to do a little MacGyvering and seems to be working fine.

Fit my 2000 Ranger 3.0 v6 xlt flex fuel. Came with the little elbow attachment plus another weird elbow with two exits for some other vehicle.Went in fine: lube it with a little oil from the dip stick and it required no tools. literally less than a minute-and that was on a hot engine so I was being careful to avoid burns :)Oh, the original and this replacement can both be blown through (with your mouth) in either direction-that's just fine, some vehicles take pcv valves that you're not supposed to be able to do that, but you can with this one and it's fine. My original PCV had 92k miles and I was replacing it early. After cleaning it I noticed that when I shook it the old one rattled a lot more than the new one: weakened spring over time I guess.

Didn't solve my problem, but this wasn't the source. Direct replacement and went on easy enough. Glad to replace the previous one as I am sure it would have failed soon at 189,000 miles. Motorcraft is the way to go. OEM products are what is recommended for a reason.

Finding OEM parts for my 98 Ranger can be challenging. The old PCV valve was shot along with the grommet. I had to go elsewhere to get the right grommet but the PCV was an exact replacement.

Spring in pcv valve seems softer than the one I'm replacing but maybe thats a good thing?
