Well designed protection for your precious Apple Watch
I got this case even before I got my watch! Good job, Spigen, really good. I received my Apple Watch Sport 42mm gun metal yesterday, 42 days after placing my order at 12:13AM on April 10th which was the first day of sale...Apple, you can do better. Now about this case, which I easily put on the watch right after opening the box. No instructions but it isn't hard at all. I slipped off one of the watch bands by pressing the lock on the back of the watch, holding it, and sliding off the band. Then I fed the remaining attached band through the case and positioned the watch bottom in the case. Then I eased in the top and sides of the watch to the case and re-attached the watch band I had removed. The case material is flexible, like rubber, so this was not difficult at all. Now how does it fit and work? A well-designed accessory. I can access the crown, side button easily, there are holes for the speaker and mic on the other side, and the cut-out for the magnetic charger on the back is perfectly placed. By the way, the included screen protector (Spigen gives you two -- thanks Spigen, but I only needed the one) goes on easily. Just keep dust away when you install the protector and carefully peal off the films protecting the screen protector. I put my screen protector on after the watch was in the case, but you can do it before. The screen protector is cut perfectly to cover the watch face and easily clear the wrap-around of the case. Tactile is not compromised with this screen protector. Wal-la! Done deal and my precious Apple Watch is protected. I'm a bit anal about protecting my beautiful Apple products so I'd don't mind the extra girth that the case adds to the watch. I have big wrists so the extra girth is OK. I do believe that now I can further enjoy my watch without the worry of marring its face and that I can accidentally drop it and it will be OK. I haven't tested this however. I've never dropped my watch or iPhone, but do protect them for the additional peace-of-mind. A well-designed product worthy of five stars! Enjoy.

Rugged protector is rugged and protects
My wife bought me an Apple Watch, so I bought this case to protect it. I just put it on last night (11/18/2018) so I can’t attest to the durability of it just yet, however if it’s anything like other Spigen products, which is the reason I bought it, I have full confidence in it. So to install, you first remove the bands from the Apple Watch. Then you have to squeeze the unit into the case. The case does have some flexibility to it, but it is tough. I suggest putting the side with the buttons into the case first, and then squeezing the rest in. Also to note, I put a screen protector on first, and when putting the case on, the screen protector got pulled up in some places. However, once the case was on, I was able to smooth out the screen protector and it fits well. The case does not interfere with the screen protector once everything is in place. So I wanted a case that would stand up to normal to moderate abuse, aka, I wanted to feel confident that I wasn’t going to destroy this thing if my arm brushed the car door or the wall or something. Obviously if I’m doing hard labor, like using a jackhammer and chipping concrete, I’d probably take it off anyways. But for, at least, the everyday stuff, this case should be perfect. It’s a little (and I mean just a little) bulky. It definitely doesn’t follow the slim form factor of the watch itself, but I feel it’s a good mix between style and rugged protection. Be prepared for this to possibly catch your sleeve when putting on a sweater. For me, I absolutely love it. I don’t mind the bulkiness too much, and it still looks like an Apple Watch, if that means anything to anybody. All in all, a tough protector for an expensive device, yet still stylish enough to give you the impression your wrist has a body guard on it 24/7. And of course, all at a great price.

Pleasantly suprised
I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do. This case makes my Apple Watch look like a kind of giant digital watch, but that's okay. I don't necessarily want everyone knowing I'm wearing an Apple Watch. That being said, it looks like a nice giant digital watch. The metal button over the friends/contacts button makes it look like it's the actual body of the watch. The curved Apple screen receeds a tiny bit before coming into contact with the bezel of the case which then rises back out. I was concerned this would look like crap, but it doesn't. With the black Apple Watch band, the whole thing looks really good. It doesn't feel any different, the heart rate monitor seems to be working exactly the same, and Siri works the same, too. I did not use the screen protectors. I was not worried about the screen directly, but about glancing blows if I bumped into something while walking. The raised ridge of the case seems to minimize those blows on the screen, too. The only problem I have found is a minor one: The scroll wheel is slightly impeded. It's still very useable, but you can't roll your finger all the way around it like before. It's a very minor impediment, but I notice it a little when I use the wheel. I was worried it might interfere with the charger, but it doesn't seem to. It is a tiny bit more difficult to use the buttons to release the bands, but they did make considerable effort to make that possible. It does work, it's just a tiny bit more difficult. My biggest problem with this is that I do like it so much and my black one doesn't look good with the metal Apple Watch band I bought recently on Amazon or my white Apple Watch band. I'm using my black band today, and now I may have to look into getting a black metal link band. You can see traces of the actual Apple Watch body through the gaps for the band and the scroll wheel, but that doesn't bother me much. Lastly, I keep reading that it is scratching the stainless steel watches. Stainless steel is softer than the aluminum. My Apple Watch Sport doesn't seem to be scratched at all.

This product offers decent edge protection for your Apple Watch. The material it's made from is very similar (if not identical) the the material of the Black Apple Sport band, so it doesn't stand out very much and take away from the aesthetics of your Apple Watch. I'd personally rather they did not impress the words "Rugged Armor" and "Shock Resist" on the face, but since they are impressed into the design, they don't really stand out very much. It would make more sense to me if they branded their logo or company name into it instead, but I think that they're copying words that I remember seeing on old digital watches in the 80's & 90's. Maybe those words mean something particular in the sports watch world, but they don't to me. The ultra tricky part of the purchase is the screen protector. There may be a world of difference measured in millimeters for it's installation. When I put it on, I tried it a couple of times and the edges still aren't properly aligned, so the edges of the screen protector will not "seal" against the screen of the watch. Which means that you can see the screen protector on it. Not the worst problem in the world, but I'd prefer it if it fit better. The case did come with 2 screen protectors and I've only used one of them. Since it didn't get on "perfect" I want to see how long it will last, or until I buy a different kind, maybe a Zagg or something that I can have installed next time I go to the mall or something. The case has a cutout that is wide enough to allow you reasonably easy access to the crown, but also leaves that as the most vulnerable spot on the watch. For the price, this case is nice, easy enough to install, and does come with 2 screen protectors. It will give you some edge protection and it raises the edges of the case up enough that if you laid your watch face down, it would keep the screen up off the table. But, it's not going to make your Apple Watch indestructible or anything. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive option to give your Apple Watch some edge protection, some drop protection and at least something on the screen. It is an excellent match for the black sport band, and so looks at though it could have come with the watch, and does not add serious bulk to a sleek design. (-1 star for the screen protector not being an exact fit to the watch face and becoming "invisible.")

ONE OF THE BEST PURCHASES I'VE MADE FOR SUCH A LOW PRICE.
This thing is awesome. The price is great and the quality is even better. It is only cheap in price but not in manufacturing and quality. I love my Apple Watch and this thing compliments it greatly! It is NOT bulky. It is NOT unattractive. It IS protective of my watch. It IS made with precision measurements meaning this case fits PERFECTLY on my watch. It is nice and snug. It does not annoy me like a big, bulky watch does. Believe me, I HATE BULKY WATCHES. That is one reason I bought an Apple Watch is because it is slim and sleek and doesn't dig into my wrist like most watches that are over-sized. I had thought at first that this case might possibly make my watch bulky and uncomfortable but because of the very low price I said... what the hell? I'll give it a try... And let me tell you, I am NOT disappointed. The next watch I buy, I will be purchasing another Spigen Case, unless of course that new watch is the same 42mm size and in that case i'll just use this same one! Thank's Spigen! Also, it comes with 2 great screen protectors that aren't real thick like most screen protectors that limit the view and the interaction with the touch screen. This screen protector that came with it works AMAZING and isn't thick and annoying like most are... BUY IT AND ENJOY YOU WILL NOT REGRET.

Offers Full Protection and Looks Nice too
The case provides good protection for my Apple Watch. I purchased the Apple Sport Watch Second Edition after owning the First Edition for about a year. I just put a screen protector on my first Apple Watch. That only managed to keep the screen free of scratches and damage but the back of the watch became pitted and I put a small scratch on the frame of the front frame of the watch. So I purchased the Spigen Rugged Armor Case to hopefully keep from damaging any part of my new watch. So far it seems to be well designed and well made. It offers protection for the whole watch once installed along with the provided screen protector. It actually comes with 2 screen protectors. It does make the dial a little hard to turn since it's somewhat recessed after installing the case protector, but it's not something that would stop me from purchasing this case. My biggest concern was how it would make the watch look. I am very particular with how my watches look. I am currently using it on the Apple Sport Nike Edition and I honestly think it looks really nice with the sporty Nike style band that comes with the watch. To me it makes it look like a G Shock style watch. It does make the watch somewhat bulky so I'm not to sure how it would look with a more dressy type band. I also purchased the Spigen Tough Armor Case to see which one might look better with a dressy stainless steel bracelet type band. My plan is to switch bands from dressy to sporty depending on how I'm using the watch. I would recommend this case. As long as you like the look, it will definitely protect your watch both front and back.

Snug, protective case. The back part is unnecessary and trap dirt/dust. The cheap screen protectors could have been left out.
Design: As many have mentioned, this gives a G Shock kind of design. The semi-rigid rubber is just thick enough to give some protection. The cutouts line up perfectly, and the metallic button works very well. Function: This will definitely protect against small bumps on the sides of the watch, and the lip is also raised to help protect minor drops. I imagine this to protect your watch very well against small accidents. Many people have mentioned that the back of the watch or the sides of the watch get scratched up. This is because the case has a tight fit around the watch, but not tight enough to prevent small dust, sand, silicon particles from getting in. These small things are found everywhere. Have you ever noticed that there are always small pieces of rocks or sand inside your phone case? These things do get inside cases, and because of the tight fit of the case, once they get in, they don't easily get out on their own. For most users, the stainless steel or the aluminum will suffer some scratches (especially the aluminum). So this is the reason why you may get scratches. I don't think this is preventable, mainly because 1) the case can't be airtight to prevent particles from getting in, and 2) the aluminum material used on these watches are soft and scratch prone, and even the stainless steel version will have micro-scratches though they should be strong enough to prevent any deeper scratches. Who is this for: If you are active and out and about all the time, then having this might help prevent bumps. i.e. if you plan on taking your watch and go hiking. Otherwise, this is probably not worth it. Watches are meant to be worn without cases, and the materials used on this watch, arguably, is less than the materials used on watches of similar price range. Competition: There are many manufacturers making the same type of case. They are priced similarly, but this comes with 2 screen protectors, though they are very very cheaply made. Spigen has a large enough of customer base and a good enough of reputation to be a more trustworthy brand compared to others, so that might push you over if you're on the fence. Final thoughts: Watches are meant to be worn, and they will be scratched and "weathered" over the years of use. The materials used on the Apple watches might not be as strong as the materials from watches in the same price range since the cost of making the watch would be more heavily invested in the electronic components compared to that of an analog watch, where the manufacturer can spend more on the material. Yet, since this is a 200-400 investment for most people, it makes sense to want to protect it. No case is perfect, and I deducted 2 stars from here because 1) they do not need to have the back cover as part of the case and it seems that the rigid back cover is what has caused a lot of the scratch problems. I did notice a small scratch just after a few minutes of having the case on and then taking it off. for the protection of the watch, the back cover is unnecessary since your wrist is protecting it. 2) the screen protectors are really really poorly made. I'd much rather Spigen not include the protectors and lower the total price than to have them include them and not work well. In the end, if you are an active person who wants to protect their watch and promise to clean your watch often by carefully taking off the case, then this will serve you well. If your watch will always stay in your case, then this will work great. If you have a stainless steel version, then this will also work because the scratches that you get will be micro scratches rather than dents, and you can arguably buff that down, and the stainless steel also hides scratches well whereas the aluminum case will show the scratch much more easily due to the loss of the color coating. If you can't get past the possible scratches or if you need to wear your watch at more formal settings where a rugged case will throw off the look, then you might not want a case at all. Feel free to ask me any questions that you may have.

It's EXACTLY how you'd expect it to be and does the job. Saves the metal from scratching!
*INSTALL NOTE: No instructions included. Simply slip the band through the appropriate holes first (don't slip it all the way through), then slip the rest of the case from the SIDES and then should fit right in. We've already seen the reports of the Apple Watch's glass being (almost) scratch proof. But the same can't be said about the metallic edges around the watch. Enter the Spigen Apple Watch "bumper" case for my 42mm iWatch Sport. Lets get this out of the way: honestly, it's silly to call this a "case", its more like a "bumper" because uhh, it prevents damage from bumps! And trust me, I BUMP my watches a lot. Why? Because I'm a clumsy oaf and tend to cut corners around corridors and walls, its wierd. So I take a left turn around a wall or corner then "bang" I hit my watch going around the bend. I've had the bumper on for about a couple hours now and sure enough..."bang" I go around the corner. I look down and wipe off the white scuff the wall left on the bumper and carry on, all for $15! I am at ease! So lets go over some common questions I'm hearing that little voice in your head asking while you read this and debate to push the "Buy Now" button. Does it add bulk to the watch? ---> Now you must be thinking, "Well its gonna make it bulkier." Well of course it is! But unless your dainty wrist has been wearing nothing but a yellow Livestrong band for years, the watch with the bumper on is NOTHING compared to a good ol men's watch or, in my case, a big 'un G-Shock. So I took the liberty of taking pictures of the bumper on and the G-shock side-by-side for reference. *You're welcome* You want bulky? The Apple Watch with the bumper is still less heavy, less wide, and less thick than my G-shock. I barely even notice the difference right now. Did you use the screen protectors? --> Noooope! They're plastic crap and I threw them away. It reminds me of those Blackberry plastic screen protectors back in the 2000's. Do your research about the Apple Watch glass, they're friggen durable. Does it interfere with the watch face controls? (i.e. sliding finger down for notifications, etc.) --> This was supposed to be the deal-breaker for me and the answer is that it DOES NOT interfere with the face controls! Again, it doesn't hinder any way possible, I can slide up, down, left, and right with my bloated sausage fingers with ease. As for the wheel and home button, you can still access them as well quite easily. Why did you replace your G-shock with an Apple Watch? --> Cause I'm a geek and need to see texts messages instantly and also to be reminded to stand my big butt up to walk around instead of my wife having to do it. My G-shock couldn't do that before. Oh well. Was it easy to install the bumper? --> Kind of. There were no instructions in the box that I could find. But I made like a monkey and experimented by sliding in the bands first. They didn't slip all the way through and then I fiddled with the sides next and then it slipped right on. I wouldn't force it. The rubber is flexible enough to get the job done. Why are you using a Micky Mouse watch face in one of your pictures? --> Thats classified. SO, here comes the typical Amazon Pro's and Con's Summary: PROS: - Its a bumper for the Apple Watch. - Its made out of rubber that will protect the metal sides that aren't as "unscratchable" as the glass - Its black - Says "Rugged Armor" on the top of the face. - Does NOT interfere with controls at all. - Not as bulky as expected. Cons: - Screen protectors are a throw-away. Others might sleep better if they apply it. - It doesn't hide the fact I bought a blue-band Apple Watch Sport. *I'm going to Apple Store to replace it, sheesh. - No instructions - Took some fiddling to install Thank you for reading! Perfect for “Hands on” apple watch users
Just arrived in the post. Had this product for the last 24 hours. So cannot really rate the durability. My main cocerns of buying a apple watch case was; Will it be too bulky? Will is stick out like a sore thumb? Will it be comfortable? After wearing it for a day, I can happily answer all three questions! No, it is not too bulky at all. Infact, I feel it is very flush with the watch. (Especially if its a black wrist strap). It almost looks like part of the watch! No, it does not stick out in my opnion. It is very sleek in design and I feel it compliments the apple watch. However I do feel the apple watch looks better without any case. Yes! It is comfortable. I haven’t noticed the watch case on my wrist at all and it feels fine. For anyone with an apple watch that does alot of hands on work in their day to day. This case is ideal and I feel it’s a great price!

PROS: - Buena calidad. - Resistente. - Apariencia G-SHOCK. CONTRAS: - Algunos usuarios la pueden ver aparatosa. - Cuesta un poco de poner y sacar.
