Wife's review - Having some recent hair loss, fine hair but full. Hard water with a softener treatment system new to us. Spoke to stylist during recent cut and she used "scalp cleansing" shampoo. Gently massage into scalp & through all your hair. Felt great but heavy on condition side made it flat. They also didn't sell the product at her salon - commercial beauty supply. Checked here and looked close over a few products. Saw this after reading all prior products scrolling. Bingo! I have fine hair. Stylist said only use scalp cleansing shampoo with exfoliant 1 time a week. When I initially opened it smells so good. Light floral not sweet overload heavy scent. She instructed small dab about size of nickel to start. It was actually all I needed due to the water softener & suds up well. Worked through scalp & all through my hair. The sugar exfoliating pieces are slightly larger than the product she used ( fine ground) but these exfoliating sugar pieces do a great job. Using styling products the soft water wasn't getting all the root lift, hair spray out of scalp or hair. I was amazed it was shiny the first use. Truly works great. Keeps scalp and hair clean,fresh feeling & free from product buildup and frees follicles being clogged from occasionally using multiple hair products keeping skin cells from washing away ( yucky) . This "scalp cleansing" shampoo truly works wonders. Love using it and just letting it air dry. Feels great. Shiny. One time a week. Life saver. Even 2-3 days after using it when regular shampoo, styling products, hair dryer & set spray my scalp feels great and my hair stays shiny. Buy it.

I absolutely loveee this scalp scrub! Been using it since 2020 and I’ve yet to find anything better. I love the consistency of the product and the rich lather it produces. The scent is also great. It smells fresh annd clean, although it might be too much for people that are scent sensitive. I read someone complaining of the texture and saying it was hard to work through the hair; you are supposed to put some in your hand, add some water and rub between your hands forming a rich lather, then work through your scalp. It removes buildup. My scalp and hair feel clean without feeling dry and my scalp is healthier since I’ve been using it. Hair is fresh and has volume after styling and my hair products seem to work better after use. The price is also great compared to other scrubs. The product has a good amount. A little goes a long way so this lasts me about a year.

I started using this scalp scrub because regular shampoo never fully removed buildup, and I could feel my hair getting weighed down. This product made a difference on the first use. The texture is gentle but effective, and the micro exfoliating beads melt in easily without feeling scratchy. It creates a soft lather that reaches the scalp instead of just sitting in the hair, which is something most scrubs fail at. The cooling sensation is one of my favorite parts. It leaves your scalp feeling fresh, almost like you just stepped out of a salon. After rinsing, my hair feels lighter, cleaner, and more lifted at the roots. I noticed less oil by day two which never happens for me. The scent is clean and spa-like without being overwhelming. What stands out: • Removes product buildup without stripping natural oils. • Leaves the scalp calm and soothed. • Adds volume at the roots. • Rinses out easily with no residue left behind. If your hair feels flat or your scalp gets oily or itchy from product buildup, this scrub is absolutely worth adding to your routine. It has become a weekly must for me.

Seems to work well. First wash the scrub was kind of sticky, so I then washed with my own shampoo and went back and did a second scrub which worked much better. I conditioned my hair as usual. My hair looks really nice and shiny and my scalp feels pretty good.

Update: changed from 4 stars to 5 stars after buying the new Yuzu/Lemon scent. I hated the musk in the original scent. The yuzu/lemon smells just like you’d think. Very nice, clean and fresh, in my opinion the lemon isn’t too sharp either. I’ll have to try the cherry blossom next. Formula is identical to the original. Add a splash of water after applying to really get the lather going and spread the product. This stuff gets rid of all my dry shampoo and hairspray buildup. Gets my scalp super clean and makes my hair really shiny. Very good clarifying shampoo and scalp scrub. 10/10. My last little tub of this stuff lasted about 5-6 months too. You don’t need much unless you want more salt crystals for more exfoliating. You get your moneys worth. OP: Product worked good but it was sort of concentrated and pasty. It was difficult to spread thru my scalp and scrub, I found that the trick is to put it on your scalp and also add a splash of more water to help spread it and begin the lather, especially if you have super thick hair like mine. It doesn’t take much product once you add the water and really activate it. I also don’t like musk scents, so personally I wasn’t loving the smell but I can deal with it. Don’t think I’d purchase this scent again, they have another one I’ll try that hopefully isn’t musk based. The key for me was definitely adding a dash of water to start the lather after putting it on my scalp. It lathers a lot. I knocked off one star solely because of the scent.

AMAZING product! I have been using NatureLab.TOKYO Perfect Clean Scalp Scrub & Clarifying Shampoo for a little over 2 months and it has made a huge difference for my scalp. Prior to trying this I was experiencing itchiness--with no flaking or dandruff--all over my scalp, regardless of the weather, i.e. summer, winter, etc. I use gentle hair products, and this issue was becoming intolerable. I asked my stylist for advice. She suggested an expensive hair oil; but after researching other options I came across this scalp scrub & shampoo and decided to give it a try (along with a silicone scalp massager/shampoo brush). I've been using the scrub about twice a week, and no longer have problems with an itchy scalp. In addition, the scrub/shampoo smells amazing, lathers really well, and leaves my hair soft and manageable. Love it! Just one word of caution: be careful not to get it in your eyes, as it does burn.

Other scalp scrubs I've used don't lather or clean like this one. This one rocks. Smells good and light, is gentle but effective, looks small but you quickly find out that it doesn't take much and will last much longer than you'd think. I'd say I've tried 6 or 7 different scalp scrubs for me and hubby at this point. This one is by far the best. None compare, no matter how pricey, and I sincerely mean that. This is a staple in our shower now. Never hurts my hair color either. It's the best treat when you want to take an "everything shower". Love, love, love!!

as other reviewers may have mentioned, you don’t need much to cover your scalp. i use a quarter size (long hair) and a scalp scrubber brush after application to help get the product in my roots and spread it. it does well in keeping my hair feeling light and straight during humid summers and has a nice smell. i recommend following the instructions of using it after your regular shampoo or else it feels heavier on your hair and using it every 3 days or so.
