Premium Sound and Comfort for Serious Gamers.
The ASTRO A50 Wireless Gaming Headset is one of the best headsets I’ve used for long gaming sessions. From the unboxing experience to actual performance, it feels like a premium product. The sound quality is outstanding — crisp highs, deep lows, and clear directional audio, which really enhances immersion whether you’re playing competitive shooters or cinematic story-driven games. The Game/Voice balance control is an excellent feature. It makes it easy to fine-tune how much of the in-game sound you hear vs. your teammates’ voices. The included charging base station is sleek and functional — it charges the headset reliably and displays battery status, which is really handy. Comfort-wise, the headset feels light on the head and the ear cups are soft and breathable. You can easily wear it for hours without fatigue. Wireless performance is also solid with no noticeable latency, and the 15m range is more than enough for normal setups. Pros: • Excellent sound quality and surround immersion • Convenient charging dock with clear status indicators • Great comfort for long sessions • Reliable wireless connection and range • Game/Voice audio balance is a game-changer • Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Mac Cons: • Premium price point (but you get what you pay for) • The software setup for custom EQ and settings could be more user-friendly • No Bluetooth support — strictly 2.4GHz wireless Overall, if you’re looking for a top-tier wireless headset for gaming that delivers both performance and comfort, the ASTRO A50 is a fantastic investment. It’s built for serious gamers who want zero compromises on quality.

Amazing headset
Astro A50 If you have every used the Astro brand before then chances are you know about the quality your getting when buying into there brand. The build quality of these are excellent, great materials used and they last literally for years. The main reason for purchasing these were the fact you can replace pretty much all of the parts the mic, earcups locked in via magnets, foam headband so if these do fail over time i can just replace them without buy a completely new headset while the earcups have a fully swivel rotation. The comfort of these headsets make long sessions with these on just perfect you would barely have an issue there that good. The headset also flex's quite abit however, with the many parts used and I've used a different model to these previously these flexing like this and I've never had an issue where they break. The clamping force on the ears are just perfect there is enough force to keep them on you head without having the pressure that even if you wear glasses cause headaches or your not able to play for long sessions. The buttons on the back of the right earcup you have the power, surround sound, EQ which can be adjusted and saved to the headset when you are happy with the performance. (this can be down via the software that you can download from Astro) the volume wheel had a great feel the noticeable tactile step so you know your changing the volume. The right earcup plate then has the voice to game chat adjustment so games where you may want to concentrate more on sound than mates in game. The docking station is fairly large though and does take space, although if you have multiple setup like console and PC you could buy a separate station and dock the headset into each dock to sync with the various system your using. especially useful if you use 2 consoles it will work the same or the Xbox and PS5. Sound quality for gaming on console was just great i enjoyed the experience the subversiveness of playing certain games. I feel these are very well balance there not bass heavy there not to high its balanced in the middle for what the Astro do give you is a well rounded audio that have texture and clarity. If your into your FPS games you can hear movement clear the direction its coming from these provide a good amount of detail to the audio. The mic is clear although you know there filtering out and isolate background noise's. Overall these are a great headset, build quality is excellent, audio quality is perfect for me i loved the comfort especially for long gaming sessions. i also like the fact that parts are interchangeable.

The best headset I've had ever.
This headset is just the job for long gaming sessions on my Xbox one s. Over the years I had several headsets (usually turtle beach ones like the xp510 and x43), the Astro A50 Gen 4 is the best fitting and the comfiest one I've had up to now, The sound is very good once you have maxed out the two highest frequency adjustments in the the software that you have to download to your PC, this Astro Command centre is what you use to adjust the frequency bands to shape the way you want the headset to sound. The two highest ones need setting the highest in my opinion as the treble is muffled otherwise, then adjust the bass to your liking, once done you save the setting and update them to the headset then your done. You can save three and adjust them for different sound for other games styles eg one for more bass or more treble or how you want it. The Astro A50 Gen 4 is now suitable for the new Xbox series X through the use of just the USB connection as they have done away with the optical connection. The build quality is really good and I bought these as other headsets have snapped at the place the speakers connect to the headband on my last three headsets (my razer nari ultimate (xbox) snapped at the earcups). The Astro A50 has strong tubes on which the earcups turn so no worries about these breaking there, Overall I'm extremely happy with them and they would no doubt last for a long time, I was fed up of buying headsets for them to snap near the earcups over the last four headset I had for my Xbox. The battery lasts for a very long time when in use and depletes slowly and can game for extended gaming session, when finished place them down on the charger by the earcups and they magnetically fit down on the charging base. I take real care of my stuff so If you value build quality and excellent sound get these Astros. I have had these for a month now and have really got used to them. Love them to bits. Just to add some detail to my review I noticed that someone reviewed these Astro A50 as a one star saying they broke after a few days, this is highly unlikely as the headset pad at the top is removable and in the picture shows one side of the tab at the top of the headset comfort pad half way out, THIS comfort pad IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS as they are clipped in by slightly parting the headset band while putting this in and squeezing back the bands together, they are removable for putting in the top part of the mod kit or removing for cleaning. That reviewer seems to seem to have jumped to the wrong idea and thinks they are broken.... the head pad at the top is removable by having a tab on both sides of it and is easily put back by pulling apart gently the head band and the clips fit front and back of the headband, this is easy to do. It's a shame they think they are broken (highly unlikely as they are really well made, this is the best headset I've ever had and other brands I've had did not have the build quality unlike these Astro A50's.. Gaming pro's use these for tournaments.....THEY ARE THAT GOOD!!!). I remove my head band pad for cleaning regularly, It's seems in my opinion they did not understand how it fitted together and thinks they are broken... they misunderstand how easy it it to fit it back in.. I can assure that it's supposed to be this way and NOT broken.. this puts the Astro A50's in a negative light..in my opinion unfair. I have had mine for about four years and although has signs of wear it's still works perfectly well!!. I have no regrets getting these as once you get the EQ right for your own preference you will most likely love them, I do!!

A sad ending (updated)
ORIGINAL 2020 Does what it promises. Comfortable, not had any issues with battery life, I move mine between my laptop and my xbox often and it just works. Premium price tag with actual premium quality, unlike some its competitors. UPDATE 2022 There are a couple issues a few years in. I have the base unit permanently plugged into my Xbox Series X these days. There's an intermittent "chirping" issue, where the headset seems to randomly make little noises every 30 minutes or so. You can resolve it by replugging the base unit to the console. Given my xbox is under the desk at the back somewhere, it's kinda annoying. I have my xbox set to power down completely when I turn it off, and I've noticed that when I turn it back on, I pretty much always need to switch the base unit mode over to PC and back to Xbox before my headset will actually pair with it. The headband has a smoothing plastic coating that does degrade and peel off after a while, but it's not something I really care about beyond mentioning. The way that the cup adjustment sliders are designed means that if you have long hair, your hair can and will get caught in them in a way that cannot be resolved except for snapping your hair off or pulling it out of your head. I wear a cap or tie my hair up when I use the headset pretty much always as this has happened a lot. Functionally, everything's still working great - no build quality issues, which is something virtually every other headset I've owned suffers from after a year or so. UPDATE 2025 I've had an issue with the microphone randomly going into "TV static from hell" mode which is only resolved by unplugging the base station and plugging it back in again. This happens multiple times per hour. Logitech have advised me to buy another one. No thanks :)

Best wireless gaming headphones I have ever owned (and I have owned a few).
I have had Steelseries Arctis wireless, wired (pros, which I use on my work computer now), Razer wired and wireless and more...here's the pros and cons and why these are my favourite of the bunch. Note I am a web designer & an avid PC gamer (every day, COD/OW, RDR2, and too many Steam titles to list). Pros: 1. Sound is fantastic even without the optical it's rich and lovely and I like it better than my high end Steelseries Pro's (which I wasn't sure I would find). 360 sound in game...if you're looking to hear every footstep, these do the trick. 2. Comfort is the best in class. I was worried as I can wear my Steelseries all day without any pressure headache. Razers I can only get away with about an hour. These I could fall asleep in and not notice. They are just squishy but still stay on my head. They are lighter than my Steelseries Pros as well. If you have a larger head these are a good choice. 3. Microphone is crystal clear, and everyone says I sound better on this vs my Steelseries or my Razers. One of the things I love about this mic is that it has the ability to play your own voice back to you. This doesn't seem like a huge bonus, but it is for me. Circa 1am when I am playing COD and my kids are sleeping, before these headphones, I would get louder with callouts...which woke up my teenage daughters (and got me put on the naughty step). These allow me to hear how loud I am, and I haven't woken them up once since. Cons: 1. The software doesn't work well all the time, and sometimes doesn't want to start (and no it's not a driver update). 2. The charging base sometimes feels like it needs to be aligned with the sun to be able to work. You can't just plop them in and boom they charge...they need fiddling with to get set in correctly every time. 3. Length of charge could be better. My Steelseries seem to last forever. These on a daily basis I get down to the single digits, and they have died on me twice, and I had to hook them up to a cord. I wish it had a longer battery life. The verdict...these are still the best wireless gaming headphones I have ever owned. The pros far outweigh the cons. I am hoping they tweak the software so that it's less buggy, when it does work, it's great. If you are looking for a great sounding, epic set of gaming headphones, give these a chance, I have been very happy with mine. Note that I got these for £167 from Amazon Warehouse, which I got an amazing deal on these. The headphones didn't have anything wrong with them, just the outer box was a mess, but the inner one was pristine.

Excellent Headset
I have been through absolutely loads of Headsets as I game on PC, Xbox and PlayStation so I have a lot of experience. I returned a Turtle Beach 600 Headset for the Xbox as the connection was unstable (interference I presume). It's a shame as the surround sound (especially) was awesome on those. When you enabled Atmos you could actually hear things above you. I then went to a Hyper X Cloud Flight Wireless headset for the Xbox and this has great bass and sound in general and Wireless signal was excellent...but...I wear glasses and they clamped a bit hard and the Surround Sound just wasn't as good. I mean it worked but not as good. So; I was looking for something more comfortable and so I tried these. They are SUPERB. Very comfortable and do not clamp my head but the surround sound is incredible! Nuketown in COD...i'm upstairs and I can hear an enemy walking up the stairs..not just walking up the stairs but I could tell that they were half way up so I could time my shooting perfectly ("camper!"). Not only this but the bass is great and sound quality is pretty decent as well. Highly recommended for competitive gaming. They are a lot smaller than they appear in the photo's as well and very neat being able to site them on the charger when not in use. I suppose the only thing I would change are perhaps a smaller boom mic.

Brilliant Headset
So what can I write about the Astro A50s? Quite alot if you ask me. I've always had Astro headsets especially for my Xbox. I started off with he first gen Astro A40s, I couldn't fault them but I accidentally broke them. While looking up new headsets, I gave astro a fair share of looks. From Corsair, Razer and SteelSeries. They all had interesting features, But all the same as The Astro A50s. - 7.1 surround sound. - Dolby Atmos - Great Noise Cancelling - Crisp Audio - Deep Bass and Great Mids I decided on the Astro A50s (Gen4) because.... Well been with astro for years. Might as well stay loyal, But since Astro has been bought over from Logitech their quality has slightly declined a bit. But that's not a bad thing! When I got the headset, The box and packaging was the same, Not changed much in terms of style. As soon as I opened it all up the smell of 'new' hit my nose and I floated towards it like I've just smelt a good cherry pie! Everything was in the box, Manual, Dolby Atmos 2 year subscription, Headset. Took me 5 minutes to plug everything in and connect it all to my Xbox. Now before you read this part I got to tell you that this was my problem, Very few have this problem but it does sort itself out. So All the lights came on and I left it to charge for 24 hours, After that I connected it to my PC and updated the firmware, But the headset wouldn't connect to the base station, This took about a week to fix, Back n fourth looking at fixes, Reddit posts, I even went on their discord and asked in there. Nothing they said worked, So on the mean time, My £300 wireless headset could only work if I had the mini USB cable attached to the side giving it power. So don't know what happened. After about a week, One night I went to play warzone with my friends and it just worked, Worked without the wire! I was so excited. So moral of that story is just wait a week, If it doesn't fix itself then contact Astro. After playing about with the PC Software I find tuned the headset to my liking. It has 3 programmable profiles, I have mine set to FPS Games, Cinematic Games/Movies and Music. The Volume rotate wheel is tactile and can precisely set the audio. And there's 2 buttons on the side too Game and chat volume level, So game up or chat up. And one button I don't use much is the switch between stereo and dolby. My personal review is anyone looking for a brilliant Headset that will last through being thrown and roughed up, Choose astro. Used it for months now and I couldn't be happier!

Overhyped & Overpriced
Firstly, I'm perfectly happy to spend £170-£390 on a headset - No issues - you get what you pay for in my opinion and I take care of my gear to sell it years later for half the RRP. ASTRO Gaming A50 Wireless Gaming Headset came up on sale, I'd seen some of my community use it and shout about the sound quality. My Sennheisers are on their last legs after 9 Years of Service :) and wanted a new PC gaming headset, which would also work for streaming (separate mic for discord). Also, Most importantly, I wanted a wireless headset. The sound quality is fairly decent - I was impressed Max 20000Hz Highs but 20Hz Lows 118dB/mW (Hardly any noticeable difference from my Sennheisers PC360 Max 28000Hz Highs and 15Hz Lows 112dB/mW) Had a Day with the A50s - Impressed by the sound quality and the wireless distance, but massively disappointed with the Design quality, Plastic feels cheap and poorly made - I fully expect the rubber coating to have issues in the coming years. I've asked for a replacement with Amazon because the middle headband keeps popping out when I put them on and a few forums said this could be a fault - especially for 1 day right out of the box use. Ended Up taping the top just as a test - Really, shouldn't have to do that for a £299 headset. Googled around and found it's quite a common design flaw and someone 3D printed a headband clip for £9.99 - Hilarious. Will give the replacement a whirl but I'm not confident and most likely will return for a refund and look at buying a Steelseries Nova/Pro or even switch back to EPOS Sennheiser. === Notes === // The highest frequency at which the device produces audio. The higher the high-frequency response, the clearer and crispier the treble. // The lowest frequency at which the device produces audio. The lower the low-frequency response, the stronger and juicier the bass. // Devices with a higher sound pressure level are generally louder when supplied with any given audio source.
