12/28/2019 update- this item works exactly as it should. You have to make sure your beans are very finely ground or else water will not run through pod correctly. Item was working great when first purchased. You have to grind your coffee beans to a espresso like grind. Fill up the pod with maybe three scoops. I patted it down to make sure it was nice packe. Great espresso shot of coffee every time with comparable strength/amount (actually more)/and crema. But recently the machine has not been able to run the reusable pod as well as it used to. I've had it now for less than a month. Used maybe 2 times day 3 times a week. The water doesn't flow through the Capsule as consistently as it first did. I'm not sure what changed but the grind on my coffee hasn't. Overall a good product but I'm not sure if it's already wearing out. Will try one of the new included rubber gaskets and see if that is the issue and will update again.

This product just doesn’t work unfortunately. Machine makes an extremely loud sound when it does “work” and then spits half a teaspoon of espresso out before it turns off. When it doesn’t work it makes a loud sound and then the red ring of death shows up on my machine. I’ve used the actually Nespresso pod after each time so I know that my machine works fine

This product is a 1-Star product. 🌟BUT IF YOUR HANDY. IM GOING TO TEACH YOU HOW TO FIX IT for 5-STAR RESULTS.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 So as you can see in the other reviews the issue is obvious with what goes wrong. But there's one review that made me want to keep it instead of returning it. Some guy pointed out the outer holes are too small. He was right. When using the pods from Nespresso. Notice how the punch holes on the outer ring are bigger on the foil compared to these small holes on the stainless pod. So I decided to try this guy's advice in the reviews. I started with using my drill to make the holes bigger. I started with a 1/16" drill bit to make the holes bigger. Then I stepped up to a 5/64" drill bit TO ONLY TAPER THE EDGES FROM SHAVING BURS. DO NOT DRILL ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Then I used a 3/16" drill bit to taper the holes wider for easier water flow. I follow all steps with these 3 drill bits on BOTH SIDES. Please clean thoroughly and make sure there's no metal shavings or bits left. I used very hot water and soap. Then as you can see in the photo you'll need a nespresso pod to hold the product in. But it will not work because the stainless pod sits above the rim of this pod. I had to cut it to let it sit flush with the top rim so that it'll work. If not the Nespresso machine gave the flashing orange signal. After getting if flush it worked great. Bit of grounds in the coffee but just a bit. See photos for results. I hope the product owner sees this and fixes the issue so that people can enjoy this product better.

I have had an espresso machine for 25+ yrs. I know espresso and coffee well. I got this nespresso vertuo machine bc it makes a great cup of coffee or espresso. The drawback is the pods are expensive. So i purchased this to help offset the cost. The bottom line is, it doesn’t work. At all. I Tried multiple times to duplicate what the nepresso pods do, but it will not do that. Coffee grounds end up in coffee, it tastes watery and no foam. I should have sent it back, but i keep it as a learning tool so my kids won’t by stupid products. This useless pos product is currently living its best lift on a shelf in Colorado, never moving or being used.

It’s good as long as you don’t brew more than 1.5 ounces it says it can brew 7+ ounces but that is not true after 1.5 ounces it starts to brew water because the pod is too small and doesn’t hold that much coffee grounds so it’s best if you have stickers that are 1.5 or 1.35 ounce shot brewing capacity and tape those to the bottom of it and make this cup permanently that size it works really good for espresso ground even finally ground only if you fashion a rubber seal that goes over the center hole which seals the hole from leaking water out the injection hole and then it will work without leaking and making a mess inside the espresso machine

The stainless steel pod worked as described but personally I did not like the taste of the coffee it produced, so I did return it. But the device itself is a very high quality

Creates a good cup of coffee, whether from freshly ground beans, re-ground, or straight from a can. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance of this pod. It is finely crafted and hasn't failed in it's intended purpose. I've seen some reviews stating the crema/top foam layer produced was less than the factory fresh pods. I approached this pod with curiosity and prepared two doses using the included tamper, placed the pod into a used OEM pod shell (I used a half-decaf) and brewed them back to back for comparison. The first photo is from Folger's that I re-ground in a cheap Krups coffee grinder that produces very fine, espresso-like grounds. The second photo is Folger's straight from a can. As you can see, the re-ground coffee produced a significant amount of crema compared to the straight-up grounds.

Hi, First of all, I want to say that I love the idea of this product. And that it is pretty much very well-made. There are a couple things to keep in mind. Then nespresso, coffee machine specifically designs its pods with barcodes on the bottom rim that the laser inside the machine can read it to make your coffee the amount that you need, etc. So in order for this to work you have to keep your old Nespresso coffee pods take the foil off the top, clean them out and put this reusable pod inside. I’ve tried and experimented quite a bit with the reusable situation with the Nespresso Verto next coffee machine. I’ve used different beans have use different nespresso, empty pods, different ratios, etc. My last and I would say best attempt to a nice cup of coffee using the reusable was me using a Starbucks strong roast empty pod, which I took the foil off the top and cleaned it out from the old coffee grinds and then scooped in one scoop of espresso powder, and one scoop of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee into the reusable pods that I bought. And then sealed the pod make sure there were no coffee grinds on it and put it inside of the old Starbucks empty pod. I’ve been placed inside the machine, close the lid and hit go. It was the most success I’ve had in trying to make the Nespresso over to next more economically sustainable. However, the coffee was far from what it would taste if you just bought an nespresso coffee pod from the store. The coffee was very weak, although it still had the nice frothy texture. I’m going to try a stronger coffee and possibly removing the metal on the bottom of the Starbucks old pod so that it’s only the barcode on the sides left. Essentially putting a little bracelet onto the reusable pod. I’m definitely not proud of Nespresso for making their product in this way. I know they have recycling options, but it is honestly very expensive and not that accessible to everyone. In order for coffee to be sustainable it does need to be accessible. Overall, I would give it 2 stars out of five. However, I’m not completely blaming the manufacture of this product nor my blaming espresso. I think that it’s just a very difficult situation to work with so if you want your ideal cup of coffee, the same way you had it when you got your Nespresso coffee pod you should probably buy espresso, coffee pod or get a different coffee maker. These are my opinions only and are not meant to hurt or demean anyone. Again you can try yourself and decide perhaps you have a different opinion.

When I used it, it just makes lots of cream. And no coffee. Not worthy.

the machining and threads on this re-usable capsule is very good. Yet the yield is a washed up non-concentrated lungo. It took a lot of trial & error (and plenty of wasted coffee & water) to get to somewhat drinkable cup. However, i'm afraid that's all i was able to get out of it (a barely drinkable) cup. Not something i would crave for in the morning.
