"10 Minutes to Install..."
....or so goes the seller's claim, but I can tell you this was a 12-24 hr project on my 2011 Samsung French Door Model RF263AERS (including the time l spent thawing/dismantling the shelving/"twin-cooling" cover and popping-off the back plate to access the flexible drain tubes for cleaning, and while at it, cleaning those dusty coils). Depending on how much ice has plugged-up the evaporator drain hole; (I would recommend being patient and letting the tube of ice thaw COMPLETELY top-to-bottom at room temp to avoid damage from excess artificial heat, otherwise you'll be starting over again from scratch if any ice remains ANYWHERE in the length of the tube). The ice in my drain tube was so solid that dumping hot water on top had little effect as it would either drip down into the refrigerator or instantly freeze-up. (hence the mentioned 12-24 hr project thaw time)! Once thawed, I ran a small gauge length of wire cord all the way down the drain tube length just to make sure nothing else has blocked the tube creating the ice impact and made sure all the water had dried in the length of the tube before plugging the fridge back in case any water left behind could possibly refreeze below the new heated drain clip The shorter "OEM drain-clip" is a mild under-statement, as mine from the factory was so short it never even touched the drain hole! That said, this new and improved "BlueStars" after-market clip does install relatively easy and deep into the drain-hole without any modification to the clip (AFTER THAWING and THEN being extremely careful in removing the so-called "twin-cooling" cover and not cracking the plastic or damaging the two upper electrical left-side plugs or tearing-up the foam insulation blocks on the back of the cover, which will likely occur if I had impatiently tried to dismantle while everything was still frozen solid). The evaporator fins attached to the heating element above the drain hole are thin and delicate and you will have to bend one or two slightly when attaching the new clip (don't forget to bend-up the two strip-tabs on the sides of the new clip for maximum conductivity). So yes, an easy, quick and inexpensive install of this new and improved drain-clip, which (assuming the fridge does not have other issues going on) in theory, should solve the icing problem that Samsung shoulda corrected at the factory.

It works - stops the ice build up
My Samsung refrigerator works great except for one design flaw - ice build up beneath the vegetable bin due to the evaporator drain freezing shut. The refrigerator has a small clip that attaches to the heating element and hangs down into the drain that is supposed to keep the water in the drain from freezing. However, it is insufficient to prevent the freezing, and when the drain is frozen shut the water then drains to the bottom of the frig below the vegetable bin and freezes and eventually makes it very difficult to open the bin. There are YouTube videos that show how to remove the back panel inside of the frig to replace the clip with the BlueStars clip. The clip has a larger surface area that make contact with the heating element and also hangs lower into the drain. I used a hair dryer for a while to melt the ice buildup in the drain, but the plastic frig interior gets very hot and I was afraid it would start melting the plastic if I continued. The drain remained frozen further down. So I began pouring hot water down the drain, then used an ear irrigation syringe to suction out the cooled water. Repeated this operation several times and eventually the drain opened. I only gave 4 stars in my review because the clip did not 'fit perfect' as advertised, in my Samsung refrigerator. It was too long and too wide to fit in the drain. So I trimmed it down with a wire snips and on a grinding wheel to get it to fit. Seems crazy that you should have to do this to fix what appears to be a widespread design flaw, but if you are looking to get the dang drain to stop freezing shut, this clip will work (maybe with a little modification).

Fix Cold, Clear Fluid Pooling
I had serious amounts of cold, clear fluid pooling in the bottom drawer and beneath it. While the removal of the rear panel, was intimidating (it was frozen to the coils. There's several TY videos to explain the removal) this product fitted exactly and easy to install. The cold, clear fluid no longer pools - problem solved.

I am not sure
I am not sure if it’s working or it’s just too early to tell. The icing problem didn’t happen for 7 years after purchasing the fridge so I’m sure it won’t happen over night or over few weeks/months. By defrosting and melting everything completely probably cleared the problem for a while to start with. I really hope it’s not a temp fix from the 36hr defrost. The installation was pretty simple. It took me 2hrs since there was some more dense ice after I opened the back panel. If the problem comes back, I’ll update the review. update after 2 weeks: the ice is back even bigger. Ugh. update after a year: the ice builds faster than ever now. Time to replace the fridge. This piece didn't do the trick.

So far doing its job.
Seems to be working well….Was super easy to install, but did have to trim a bit to make it fit properly down the drain. Although it Could have been the model of the fridge. A definite design flaw for Samsung fridges……they should have stuck with TV’s.
