Good purchase for peace of mind
We have a house next door where the owner comes and goes through out the year. He also has people come and live for a couple of months and then they leave also When the house is vacant for many weeks at a time, mice multiply because of the high grass and the weeds over their. We have been calling our codes department for years but no one even comes to inspect that yard. When it turns cold, we end up finding mice feces in our basement. My husband has been using traps for them for years. Traps work but it is such a violent way to kill them. I started looking for a better way to get rid of them. When I found this, we decided to try it. The machine plugs in. I like that because there are no batteries to worry about going down and the mice multiplying in my home. It is small. A bit larger then my hand. It has a night light which would be helpful if you have it in your living quarters.Since plugging it in the basement, my husband has not seen any new signs of mice. It makes a low humming sound but it doesn't seem to affect my dog. I must tell you it is spring now so the mice are probably having parties next door and making babies! But now I do not worry as much about mice coming over to my house. It is a nice product for a reasonable price. If the unwanted rodents return,we have a great alternative to the traps or sticky sheets some people use.

The instructions say to give it 16 days to work like it should i want to update my review then
I have alread had this plugged in for about 4 days now, I have had a LOT of mice lately. I noticed a slow increase in the rat poop i am cleaning up..The instructions say to give it 16 days to work like it should i want to update my review then..If mice are gone, and i will know, I am going to change to 5 star. I gave it 4 star because it is a fairly large machine and it plugs in so i don't have to worry about batteries..No noise.

Worked as well have my 3 cats did....no noticable reduction in mice
Even 3 cats in the house didn't inhibit these mice from making themselves at home. This device didn't stop them either. I placed it on the kitchen counter as the mice were grossing me out. They still were on the counter every night. I tested it to make sure it was working as it suggested and yes it was working.

Bought this because I have seen a rat or two ...
Bought this because I have seen a rat or two in my house. I placed it on my laundry machine since thats where they usually come from. For the past few days, I have heard some noises from the laundry room and today saw a rat run from underneath my couch right into the room with the device. They still come and go in the room and this didn't fix my problem at all! returning this and hoping to find another solution.

I don't know what the activity level was like before, but I can't honestly say the unit ...
. I had rat activity, they chewed my windshield wiper hoses (hoses twice) and motors on my Toyota 4-Runner ($705 dollars worth of damage) while it was parked in the garage. I also bought a game camera to capture rat activity around the vehicle. After having both the camera and EL300 set up in the garage for weeks, I still get occasional game camera pictures of rat bastard(s) coming into the garage. I don't know what the activity level was like before, but I can't honestly say the unit was a complete solution. I also set out snap traps and initially caught a rat and a mouse, but the remaining one(s) seems to have wised up to this.

Excellent results combined with a timer
After having pack rats nesting in our (small) barn, I put one of these on the floor. A month later, I have seen no evidence whatever of any pests. It seems to work completely.Note, however, that I put a timer in back of it, so that it is not on all the time. I understand that rats can get used to anything after a while. The timer is one that allows on/off switching multiple times during 24 hours, as often as every half hour. I set it to go on and off for varying periods at random times. Maybe the repeller would work without the switching. All I can testify to is that the combination seems to have solved my problem.
