awesome drill
I have bought quite a few of these drills over the past few years (probably 10?) from my local home store. Generally I get them for <$20 when on sale, so I can afford to have them within reach in different work locations, and with various frequent-use bits chucked and ready to go. My previous go-to 'famous' brand of cordless drill (4-5 of them, orange in color) has suffered some weak batteries and one with quickly-worn brushes. The battery life on the Alto is decent, they don't lose charge if they are unused, and I have not had a battery go into death throes yet. Torque is pretty good. The low cost also allows me to use the battery for a variety of other things (homemade portable boombox, LED lights in my shed) and keep the drill as a spare, although I haven't needed a spare drill yet.My only complaint is minor - the drill comes with a std/Phillips double-ended bit attached in a clip in the base. The std end can get turned such that it points outward a bit, and it can poke you when you pick the drill up. It doesn't draw blood, it's just an annoyance. So generally when I reach to my pegboard for a cordless drill, I pick a blue one and not an orange.
