Worth every penny
No complaints whatsoever it's perfect hope they start making a 80s and 90s hits collection I always say whats the music without the visuals that's a bonus cd plus dvd for greatest hits is a great idea

for the DVD - the videos!
The really nice thing is you get most of her videos albeit some with Japanese subtitles when there is dialog. The Videos are decent quality considering their age (not horrible so a good thing). Going to blu-ray would probably not help image quality much if at all. The sound stereo - decent. What did you expect surround? The CD doesn't sound bad not that Blu-spec CD buys you anything as far as sound quality (marketing by Sony). So essential for a huge fan - for the videos! Bit pricey but ain't anything from Japan! but nice to have her videos.So we can have fun too! Girls Want To Have Fun in surround (with decent sound of course) would be the ultimate wish.

Cyndi a Music Icon
This is a great collection to add to your CD collection.The DvD Of videos does play in USA blu Ray players,It does Not have All her videos but it does have most of them.The Quality is very good.There is CD of songs which included “Hope” and DvD of videos which some have never been put on dvd til Now.The Only thing I was hoping for was a big box set with artwork,I think they released Madonna with each disc of artwork for each Album/Ep in a thin cardboard sleeve with the great artwork,but they did Not do that here.All songs mixes on one disc and Japanese artwork are just added in pics in booklet of CD.Other than that,this is a great CD release and a must for Cyndi fans.

Loved It, Wish There Were More.
Bought for the DVD wish all the videos would have been included there are a couple obscure ones that weren’t on there. Also why only Good Enough pt1 and not also pt2. All in all it’s great to have so many on one disk no internet searching for good quality uploads. Brings back more memories than just hearing the songs.

Decent music videos DVD - disapointing CD compilation
The DVD is great. Image quality is decent except from the first 2 music videos "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" & "Time After Time" but from "She Bop" to "Hope" image quality is great. Only "Hope" has 16/9 image, all other music videos are 4/3 format. DVD is NTSC all zones.A lot of her music videos (old or recent) are here on DVD for the very first time in the world "Boy Blue live", "My First Night Without You", "You Don't Know", "Sisters Of Avalon", "Ballad Of Cleo & Joe" & "At Last".As well as my favorite music videos "The Goonies 'r' Good Enough - part one ", "Hole In My Heart (All The Way Through China", "Heading West", "A Night To Remember", "Into The Nightlife" & "Hope" : she is very beautiful in this last one. I love when her hair is pink instead of her regular white hair. I didn't knew the song or the music video for "Hope" but the song is great and the music video is very beautiful.The CD compilation has a great song quality, just like on the recent "She's So Unusual" anniversary re-release but for a compilation called "singles collection", the only single versions here are "Who Let In The Rain" and "Come On Home". It's great for me as I didn't had the "Come On Home" single version myself but it's too bad about the rest.Where are the singles versions of "Money Changes Everything", "Boy Blue", "Change Of Heart" & "My First Night Without You". For a compilation called the singles collection there's not much single versions going around. They should have called this compilation "Greatest Hits" and that's was it. Oh well.The DVD is great, the CD, not so much. The sound is great, yes, but talk about a missed opportunity. When will we ever have those single versions on CD ? What are they waiting for to release them ? Not in the near future I guess.So if you're going to buy this compilation for the DVD alone, I'd say go for it, but if you think this CD will be different than the countless compilations already available on Cyndi Lauper, think again. If you want singles versions of Cyndi Lauper, you'd better buy her compilation "12 Deadly Cyns...and then some" at least you'll have 2 of them that aren't here "She Bop" & "What's Going On".

A Worthwhile Collection... for the DVD
Below is my review for the Japanese import CD/DVD: Cyndi Lauper Japanese Singles Collection. I have tried to cover the most important things about it, and I've tried to be as honest as I can about everything. When you're a fan that's sometimes difficult to do, but I felt it was absolutely necessary in this particular case. If there are people out there who are still in two minds whether or not to buy this set, hopefully what I have to say will clear some things up for you.For the CD, the most important thing to remember is that this is a Japanese Singles collection, which means it only covers releases that were issued in Japan. If certain U.S. singles don't appear on this release it simply means they were never issued in Japan to begin with. Another thing to keep in mind about the CD are the song versions that have been used on this release. Apart from Who Let In The Rain and Come On Home, which are the single releases, all the other tracks in this collection are the standard album versions. I knew this prior to buying it, and to be honest it did put me off from buying this set for a very long time. Why Sony chose to be so obviously lazy about this is beyond me, especially as quite a few of the released singles had been completely re-recorded at the time and sound quite different to their original album counterparts. While the overall sound quality is excellent, in terms of content the CD is a fail for me. Besides, it's slightly false advertising to call this a singles collection, show the picture sleeves of the singles and not actually use the released singles version of the songs. Just something for Sony to think about.The biggest selling feature of this set is definitely the DVD, and it's actually pretty much the only reason why I eventually changed my mind about buying it. I've got to say it was a pretty smart marketing move on the part of Sony to make this DVD a region free release, and while this collection doesn't contain all of Cyndi's music videos, it's still the most complete and comprehensive release we've had to date so far. This is also a first time home video release for 10 of the music videos featured on the DVD. I'm very happy with the DVD, and it definitely makes up for the CD being such a let down. For anyone that may still be wondering, the DVD only includes video 1 for The Goonies, so if you were hoping that video 2 was included - it's not. I don't believe the second video has ever been officially released for the home video market. One thing to keep in mind with this DVD is that it does have on-screen Japanese translations for any videos that contain English talking/conversations. It's an automatic feature which you need to turn off yourself. Lastly, some of the videos are widescreen and others letterbox. Some people may find this a bit annoying, but I personally couldn't care less. It's just nice to finally have more of these videos released onto DVD after so many years.The packaging is very nice. Both the CD and DVD are housed together in a single standard jewel case with a double-sided inlay tray. It also comes with a thick 51 page booklet, which can be a little difficult to remove and put back into its slot again. The booklet features both Japanese and English text for all the song lyrics. However, the first 13 pages of the booklet are in Japanese text only. These pages clearly consist of some kind of introduction and a write up on each song and video featured in the set. If you don't understand Japanese, like me, then you're out of luck as far as what it says. There are also full colour pages showing the artwork for each Japanese 7" and CD single release. The pages containing the CD covers are a little smaller in size as they also show the back covers as well. Most of Cyndi's full discography is shown in the back of the book with much smaller b&w photos. The only two albums not shown are Detour and Shine. It's interesting how the album for Shine was completely overlooked in this section as it only ever got a full release in Japan to begin with. Despite this small oversight, the whole design and layout of the booklet is very nice.Is it worth getting? Well, yes and no. If you're a long-time fan you will probably be disappointed with the CD, especially as it could have been so much more to start with - there's just no getting around how disappointing it is, even despite its excellent sound quality. Anyone that already owns this set knows the best part of it is the DVD, and that's basically the main reason why most fans have bought it to begin with. So if you're still thinking about getting this, you need to ask yourself if the import price is justifiable on just a DVD alone. Also, for very casual fans who might not be familiar with a lot of Cyndi's music, a general CD of her greatest hits, such as Twelve Deadly Cyns or True Colors: The Best Of, might be better suited to you.This gets 3 out of 5 stars for me. It lost two stars because the CD really lets it down.

Cyndi Lauper DVD / A+++
For over twenty years, this is the DVD I have been waiting for! When the ‘12 Deadly Cyns’ DVD was released back in the 1990’s, I was so disappointed that some of my favourite Cyndi videos (from the ‘A Night to Remember’ album) were omitted! Now this DVD 📀 is a dream come true for this huge Cyndi fan! Included are ALL the videos from Cyndi’s first big five studio albums plus all the soundtrack videos (Goonies, Hole in my Heart & The World is Stone)! Also included are her later video hits ‘At Last ‘ & ‘Into the Nightlife’. My favourite videos are Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Time after Time, True Colors, I Drove all Night, My First Night Without You, Heading West, The World is Stone, Who Let in the Rain, That’s What I Think, You Don’t Know, & Into the Nightlife. Finally the newest single “Hope” is such a beautiful song and video and it also appears on the complimentary CD 💿, which in my opinion is the only big plus of the CD as any true Cyndi fan would have owned all the other tracks from her albums on CD already. If you are a Cyndi Lauper fan, you NEED to get this DVD (which is compatible to any player despite originating from Japan) for your collection. 💯❤️
