I literally dreamed about this container and I LOVE IT
I've had my Blendtec for years and for years I complained about the size of the container and how such a great machine should be able to make powders, pulverize veggies without a problem...although the machine is powerful the air pockets that form require you to stop the machine and stir the contents. This Twister jar is like whoa :) it pulverized my onions, garlic and ginger blend to a nice creamy consistency in 20 seconds! Homemade butter, which we make all the time was made in 40 seconds instead of minutes! The size is perfect!!!!! for making small batches and it works so quickly! I've made peanut butter (2) cycles of sauces/dips button, the peanut butter gets warm on the 2nd cycle but it's so creamy! I also made sauces for making Korean and Indian dishes in seconds! The spatula that is provided is well made and angled in such a way that it grabs almost all the goodies and leaves little for waste. I'll probably need another of these because I'll use it with other containers/bowls. The only thing I will warn you about is the twister lid is not leak proof, so it should only be used with ingredients that don't contain too much liquid. If it contains, I'd say more than 2 ounces of liquid, it may splatter. The other lid that is provided, gives a good seal for making smoothies or other recipes that contain more than 2 ounces. Also, the max fill line is at 16oz. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this container and will probably buy another because I am already using it a lot and can see how another container would be welcomed.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT !
If you own a Blendtec (and you should!), this is a must-have. We gave our old, still running V---Mix to a relative when we purchased a Blendtec, and don't regret it at all. Once this jar was marketed, we checked with relatives that already owned one and the reviews were outstanding. [Disclaimer: one of our daughters is married to the brother of one of the lead engineers on the development of this particular jar. However, we don't get discounts, we just happen to be fortunate enough to get "inside" information about the development process, etc. - nothing that helps us, just interesting info.] Our very first "project" was almond nut-butter. It turned out great - no wasted food trying to learn how to use this. We put a cup of raw almonds in this, used the twist-top to keep the sides clean and all the emerging nut-butter down in the bottom so it would continue processing, and in just a couple of minutes or so, we had delicious, fresh almond nut butter. It didn't need ANY additions, though I suppose one could add salt to taste, or other flavoring - we just didn't think it needed it. There is so much more you can do with this, including single-serving smoothies, and much more. Clean up was amazingly simple - the spatula is designed to get almost every bit - and I mean almost EVERY bit - of things like thick nut-butter out of the jar so there's no waste. Then simply put a little hot water in it, a drop or two of dish detergent, put on the top that seals (not the one used while making the nut butter), run it a few seconds, and it's clean! Rinse, dry, and you're done. The "Twister Jar" name comes from the other top that has two blade-like projections down either side. While the blender is running, you just slowly twist the jar top and the "blades" keep wiping down the sides to keep everything blending instead of sucking air down into the bottom and over-speeding the motor with nothing to blend. It really works - great engineering innovation! And the fact that our son-in-law's brother is on that team is of no consequence to us - it's just a well designed unit we're glad to have purchased at full price through Amazon. Price? A bit pricey, but I have no doubt that over time it will be well worth it. It can be used as a single serving "regular" high-speed blender that merely has a smaller jar. Or it can be used as the specialty item it's particularly suited for. Instead of using the regular sized Blendtec jar (that would take many starts and stops, having to keep pushing the substance being blended back down into the blades every few seconds), this does the job in perhaps 1/10 of the time with a whole lot less work. Our daughter had made nut-butter previously in the regular full sized jar, and it took her over 20 minutes and a lot of work. This took maybe a couple of minutes, plus a minute or two more to do clean up, with almost no waste stuck in the bottom! Go price nut butter in a health-food store, and you'll be sold on this. And in addition to the convenience, what you get is as fresh as it gets with no preservatives or other additives. In short - we LOVE this device! What a great idea to make a very difficult blending task very easy (and quick) with minimal clean up. P.S. If you've never seen the Blendtec "Will It Blend?" videos on You Tube, they're not only a great advertising gimmick, they're absolutely hilarious. You can watch the company's owner blend everything from cell phones to the plunger attachment from the competing V___Mix blender, and the motor just keeps on running - amazing, but also a great laugh. (We're told they have a lot of fun at the company. :-) )

Wonder Jar!
It goes without saying that we love our BlendTec Total Blender, and use it at least once a day to whip up our daily green smoothies. I can't imagine life without it; it has earned a permanent place on our countertop. Could the Total Blender possibly be improved upon? Well, since you asked...YES, and the BlendTec Twister Jar does the trick. We use nut butters in cooking fairly regularly, but have you checked the price of almond butter lately? Yikes! I did a down-and-dirty analysis that proved to me that the purchase of this (admittedly pricey) accessory would pay for itself in about a year, assuming that we made our own nut butters. Well, when the Twister Jar arrived today, the first thing I did (after a quick wash, of course) was to whip up a batch of almond butter. A cup and a half of raw almonds, pop the special Twister lid on the jar, cranked the BlendTec up to 7 and turned the Twister lid in a counter-clockwise direction. It took about 90 seconds to reach the consistency that I wanted, but when I opened the lid, the aroma of warm almond butter filled the air. Having just baked some whole wheat bread that was cooling on the counter, I couldn't resist slicing off a piece and slathering on some of this heady mix, and it was wonderful -- smooth, warm, creamy, perfectly blended. So, now we own the BlendTec Total Blender, the Wildside Jar, the Four-sided Jar, the Twister Jar, as well as the BlendTec home flour mill, and I have to say that the investment in these quality-made products is absolutely among the best purchases we've made. We can now easily mill our own bulk-purchased grains, make bread, then enjoy it with our own home-made (and relatively cheap) nut butters, and wash it all down with a great smoothie! I can't say enough about the BlendTec products we own. Are they expensive? Sure, but only if you allow them to sit unused in a cupboard. If you put them to use, you'll easily justify the price in money saved on processed foods and better, healthier meals. I'm a lifelong fan of BlendTec! (and though it may sound like it, I'm NOT associated with BlendTec in any way, except as a happy customer!)

Good for nut butters, "ice cream" and other chunkier stuff that need to be moved around.
It took 3 times for me to get a Twister Jar which didn't leak from the bottom, but I finally have one. Unless all you're making are smoothies, the Twister Jar is a must for nut butters, ice cream-type recipes, pureed aromatics like onions, etc... The blending power is great, and the paddle does a good job at moving around the contents because the non-Twister jars are useless for items that are chunkier. The recipe book says almond butter takes 40 seconds or until "desired consistency." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! No. Unless you like powdery nutbutter, it'll take you several minutes to blend 1 1/2 cups of nuts, 4 to 5 minutes of blending and another couple of minutes to scrape down the sides because: - the blender at manual setting stops automatically after 90 minutes. - beyond the first whirling, the inside gets too hot after 60 minutes. Also, unless you're prepared to take lots of breaks for the blender to cool down, forget about keeping the nuts "raw" if you're into that kind of stuff. This is fantastic at making almond crumbs, taking maybe 10 to 15 seconds. Gorgeous powdery crumbs, though a few large chunks were there. I was a bit disappointed with a Blentec blender because it didn't blend chunky stuff that needed to be moved around, but this Twister Jar makes everything better. I don't even use the Wildside+ Jar which came with my blender. I wish the Twister Jar were large like the Wildside+, but maybe chunkier stuff isn't meant to be blended in larger amounts. Also, if you have a super-fancy Blentec with encasing to keep things more quiet, you won't be able to close the encasing since you have to twist the top while the blender is whirling. The lid does not seal tightly to a leakproof level, but then you have to turn the lid. If the contents look like it'll flow out, lower the blending power. As for cleaning, um, no, it's not as simple as dropping some dish soap, then whirling for a few seconds with water if you're blending pasty nut butters. However, the blade is blunt, so you feel very safe getting your hand in there to scrub things. For making items beyond smoothies, this is practically a must-own accessory for your Blendtec before you get so annoyed with the non-Twister jars.

Great Addition For Blendtec Blender
I ordered this because I needed a better way to blend smaller batches of spices and nuts than the large square jar. When it arrived I was a bit skeptical. It didn't look like it was really going to work. My first effort was to reduce 6 dried Ancho peppers to powder for a rub. Infinitely easy, and I was glad the bottle wasn't smaller. The odd-shaped spiral side wipers worked well, even though dried Ancho peppers are not oily. Second effort was a lot of fresh Rosemary for a different rub. Splendid. Clean up was fast and easy. Grinding one batch instead of 20 in my spice grinder was a big benefit. Third effort was peanuts. The spiral side wipers worked again, and the wonderful scraping spatula made removal easy. I'm pretty happy. It works for wet and dry. It is good for grinding cooked meats like chicken and ham for pate. It isn't perfect, because it takes figuring out the exact best way to use it—which lid, how to stir, how to scrape the sides. And, of course, with blendtec you can expect fine grinds. Even a pulse is very fast.

Make great vegan fruit "ice cream"
This jar makes amazing vegan "ice cream" with 100% pure frozen fruit. I buy whatever fruit i want to use and cut into ~1x1" cubes and freeze in silicone ice cube trays I bought separately - this keeps the fruit chunks from freezing to each other. When I feel like having some I loosely fill up the twister jar with my frozen fruit chunks and usually run it twice on the "ice cream" cycle. Delicious!!! I won't call it sorbet because it always has a thicker and creamier mouthfeel texture than sorbet - probably due to the fiber etc. that comes from using whole fruit. I've used grapes, apples, pear, peach, mango, banana, kiwi, and one of my favorites - clementine mandarin oranges (without the peel). Sometimes I throw a heaping teaspoon of protein powder (soy vanilla, also vegan, from Trader Joe's) into the twister jar before I put the fruit in. With banana, a teaspoon of cocoa powder is nice too. Although I'm not a huge banana fan in general, I'm going to experiment with adding a few chunks of banana when I make my vegan ice cream with other fruits, since banana alone had the mouthfeel texture closest to one of those super-creamy high fat ice creams (like B&J's). Anyway, there are a few things I don't like about this jar, I think the design could be just slightly improved upon by making it with only one lid that is water-tight. When I add protein powder or cocoa, a little bit of the powder poofs out of the jar due to the twister lid not fitting tightly, and that is a little messy. And it is a bit of a pain to have to "dirty" up the separate water-tight lid solely for the purpose of cleaning up the twister jar itself, which I do by pulsing clean water in the jar a few times. But the vegan fruit "ice cream" is so amazing, healthy and delicious, that I have to give the twister jar 5 stars despite the few negatives I mentioned.

Fantastic complement to WildSide jar
We already owned a WildSide Jar that came with our Blendtec Blender. Overall it did a great job, but there were two functions it wasn't quite as good at: thick blends and small blends. The Twister Jar exceeds at both of these. Thick blends like hummus and almond butter required quite a bit of manual process with the Twister Jar - stopping the blend process and moving things about with a spatula. The Twister Jar's lid tines remove any need to stop the blending. We've created many batches with great success. Hint: no need to rotate the lid in a counter clockwise direction as suggested, just rotate the lid back and forth. The unexpected utility of the Twister Jar is using it for small batches. Because of its smaller size it seems to mix up small batches much faster and with more consistency than the WildSide Jar. For small smoothies and small batches of grain, we only use the Twister Jar now. The Twister Jar is a great product that's worth the purchase.

Perfect size for me!
I'd recently purchased the Blendtec blender (LOVE IT!!!) which came with the wildside jar. I then ordered the twister jar, thinking I'd like to make nut butters. In fact I just made some almond butter which turned out perfect! I also tried it for a fruit smoothie and have decided that this jar is going to be the one staying on my blender and I'll keep the wildside jar for when I'm making my yummy carrot bisque and other large volume blends. It's perfect for making individual servings and the regular lid it comes with seems to seat more securely than the lid on my wildside jar. Two downsides though with the nut butter. It takes a bit of work to clean the jar. Please don't try running it with soapy water and the twister top or you'll have a big mess even if you push down on it whilst running, it doesn't seal! Also I can see a lot of little scratches after blending the almonds so resign yourself to having a cloudy plastic jar if you're going to do nut butters. The spatula is terrific, they really should sell that separately! I'm very happy I purchased this jar; for me it's honestly more useful than the huge one which came with my blender. In for a penny, in for a pound...right? :)

Very Satisfied
Wonderful! The jar is a much better size for single servings than the wide side jar. I don't have to use the twister lid very often because the jar works well enough for me and the curved spatula is a nice added bonus for scraping down the sides. Also appreciate the fast shipping!

Do not buy. I was sent used product and missing spatula
I've received used product with stains on the jar, blade and lid. What a con. Returning and getting refund.
