Technology Made Simple for the Technical Recruiter, Second Edition: A Technical Skills Primer

This is a well laid out book for new IT Technical Recruiters. I have worked in the IT Technical Recruiting industry for 25+ years and was looking for a book that is a common sense introduction to IT technologies and platforms, common IT job roles, how to read and break down a job req, how to develop a proper detailed resume to mirror a job req, etc. This book appears to do so a good job of covering all of these topics and a few more. The only thing it doesn't cover is detailed recommendations on how to source candidates using Boolean searches, LinkedIn, social media, etc.

The information is structured well and while definitely a medium difficulty read for those who are not technical, the author does a good job of fully explaining the concepts behind the technology. The book, while written with the recruiter in mind, is very beneficial for the salesperson as it references hiring manager engagement throughout. One of the aspects I find most beneficial is that after the author explains a technology and associated technical roles she provides some really pertinent sample questions to ask candidates and goes on to explain why those questions are so important. In addition to covering various technologies, the author breaks down job orders, resumes and the various jobs associated with each technology

Would like for it to have more information on the aspect of recruiting, but very helpful!

Simple is the last word that I would use to describe this book. Still fairly complicated for a newbie to IT. I do see it being very useful and I will use it for reference in my new IT Recruiter role

This book was exactly what I needed - I only wish I could have found it sooner. The example resumes, questions and laymen’s terms on complex technical systems has completely changed my career. This will be something we gift all future tech recruiters in our company.

The information is structured well. The read is quite dry and to the point, but makes perfect sense for the subject matter.

I was looking for a bit more detail. Could be my fault, but I was a little disappointed.

Excellent resource for someone new in tech recruiting/sourcing, or if you want to break into the field.

A must have for the IT recruiter

Great book - ideal for a recruiter venturing into the tech world

Quite interesting if currently perform as IT Recruiter or doing your 1st steps, the breakdown is great and very focused in trending technologies.

Easy to understand Few pages but lot o f things they are covering Step wise chapter to make this book understandable i BH

If you are new to Recrutiment it’s your guide if you are experienced it aligns your process. It won’t disappoint you ! All the best for your career. Revised version is of 2019..
