NetAlly LinkSprinter 300 - Pocket Copper Ethernet Network Tester for 10-Second Connectivity Checks (PoE, Link, DHCP, Gateway, Internet) with Link-Live Reporting

Great product for troubleshooting office network environments. Can hand to a tech and with very little setup they can run in to an office and plug in to confirm where an issue with the network could be. The email reports are particularly useful. They are expensive, but an excellent tool for improving productivity of engineers out in the field checking copper network taps.

If you do anything with computer networking, you need this. Starting with the $10 tester that basically just makes sure the pins are lining up, this may seem like a big jump, but it's really helped me save time and understand what's wrong rather than just guess and deduce. First off, it's well built. I throw it in my tool bag, laptop bag, it falls, no problem. It's compact and easy to have with you all the time. If you're doing the quick test xjust plug it in, and it'll light up for dhcp, switch connection, router connection and finally internet. But if you connect to its wifi signal, your phone browser becomes the interface to access more tools! The most important is cable tester that can tell you which pins are working and the distance to where they are broken. AND it logs into your account online and sends reports as it gets internet connected for each test which you can append notes, etc. If you do big cabling jobs, you should probably get something above this. But for the network tester on the go, this thing has proven itself super useful

This tester is a great tool to have in your arsenal. I have purchased several of these for members of my IT team. They are a quick way to test a cable or jack and make sure its good to go. The test results can be viewed on a mobile phone, but we often just wait a few seconds and the email with the results comes to your phone. You can claim multiple devices in an account, name them and have the results go to individual users, but the link-live.com site has all the results from all of my guys. If you reply to the email you can attach comments or even a photo and it will be saved in the portal as well. The tests are quick and you can determine if the port is POE powered, on managed switches you get the switch info, make, model, firmware, management IP and the port you are plugged into as well as speed, duplex and IP that the device acquired and the IP of the DHCP server. The 300 even does cable length as well. If they would add a reflector and cable mapping it could replace those tools as well. The build quality is top notch and they are very durable, most of ours have survived several drops.

This device is a real life saver and it saves time too. I am able to get my ports without confusion and figure out the VLAN.

Saves a lot of time, definitely love the link live feature. The only negative is that there is no carrying case for it so depending if you keep it in a tool box where it’s bumped it will turn on. And it will go through batteries quickly

$500 is a little pricey for the limited functionality. I may rethink this and return it. For $500, I would expect a little more polish at least. 1) there is no APP. To connect locally to the device you have to use your web browser. That's a boondoggle. 2) "it connects wirelessly to your phone" - Ok, well I think most of us interpret that to mean it has a bluetooth connection. It is NOT Bluetooth. It actually uses wifi and you have to disrupt your phone situation to switch over to the LinkSprinter Wifi!! That's a boondoggle. 3) The POE inspection reports VOLTAGE!! That's it, voltage. 54v, 51v, etc... No POE classification or standards....just a voltage. That's a boondoggle. 4) For $500, it should have an option to run a SpeedTest. When doing simple things like qualifying a new circuit, it would save time and getting out laptop to just plug in the device. This is basically a $500 LDP/CDP port inspection device....which I can do with my laptop and wireshark. It is really hard to imagine how anybody justifies this price for something that is kindof kludgy. If it had bluetooth, and an app, proper POE info, a speedtest option, etc.....then it could be worth that much.

This is an excellent accompliment to my Fluke Cable IQ, On my latest project it has proved invaluable

Guter kleiner Helfer, Schneller Test, kann die Switchports und VLAN anzeigen (LLDP). Nur als Handgerät um zu sehen ob man Online kommt reicht die Anzeige der LEDs am Gerät. Bei Fehlern kann man sich per WLAN mit der Geräteseite verbinden und prüfen ob VLAN, Link, DHCP etc. nicht passt. Gut ist das der Online-Check via TCP erfolgt und nicht als Ping. Hat eine etwas versteckte Funktion auch die Kabellänge zu messen wenn kein Endgerät verbunden ist. Wenn man sich an die Cloud anmeldet bekommt man Ergebnisse per Mail, als kleine Doku geeignet. Ersetzt nicht einen 750MHz Messtest für gewerbliche Messungen! - Es ist nur ein Helfer um Fehler zu finden oder mal schnell VLAN zu checken.
