I was in the market for a new solar cover. I did a little research and read a crazy amount of reviews and decided on this particular one. I am very happy I did! The fact that it is 16mm, clear and completely covers the pool made a tremendous difference in the temperature of the water this year. Last year, I had a hand me down, blue, 8mm and nobody wanted to get in except the kids because every time you stepped in you were threatened with hypothermia! But, this year....WOW! What a BIG difference! Not even joking...the water is easily 15 degrees warmer and everybody that gets in, the first thing out of there mouths is "Oh, the water is soooo warm!" I promise....this is not a promotional review. This is an honest review from someone who is just learning about pool care and so I am like a manic with my research and the reading of reviews for products. Now, having said that, I cant attest for the longevity of the product as I just purchased this year (btw....it came packaged very well and easy to remove from the case, which I will be keeping for winter storage!) but if it does last more than one season using the care instructions, I will be very happy with the price point for this product and it would have been worth every penny for giving me and my family the opportunity to actually enjoy the use of our pool!

Will this cover help warm up your pool? YES, there is no doubt about it. But it is also not a miracle product. Just because it is sunny does not necessarily mean your pool will warm up, it does have to be relatively warm as well. If an 80 degree pool is your goal, it will have to be at least in the upper 70s and sunny several days in a row for your pool to get that warm. My pool didn't hit 80F until it was in the mid 80s and sunny two days in a row. For me that was the third week of June in upstate NY. This cover also helps more of the heat stay in the pool at night, but not all of it. In summary, you can reasonable expect your pool to gain about 1-2 degrees per day provided that it is WARM AND SUNNY all day.Now, what is the price for this 'free' pool heating (aside from the actual cost of the cover)? Simply put these covers are a pain in the ass to deal with. Frankly I can't wait to get a real solar heater so I can stop using this cover. First of all, the more heavy duty the cover is, the HEAVIER it is. Which makes it more difficult to get in and out of the pool. Secondly, what a MESS it makes in the pool. Obviously the leaves and debris that fall in your pool while the cover is on stay on top of the cover. However, you cannot get the cover out of your pool without all that debris getting into your pool. It is virtually impossible. Which means all of the stuff that has accumulated on top of the cover ends up in your pool water. Depending on how long the cover as been on, most of the stuff can be soggy and will SINK to the bottom. Which means you have to vacuum it instead of being able to skim it. In short these covers actually end up increasing the time you have to spend cleaning your pool. I would rather skim my pool daily then have to deal with all of the stuff from the cover being dumped into my pool at once. Just another reason I want to stop using it.Now, the reason I docked a star from this particular cover? One of the seams on mine ripped the very first time I removed the cover from my pool. It eventually ended up separating completely, I can still use it but I didn't want the cover separated where it did. So although the cover is heavy duty, the seams don't appear to be. I expect it won't be the last time a seam separates on my cover. Hopefully I won't be using it much longer.

This cover is worth the money! I was worried because its clear, and I read some not so good reviews about it. I have had it all summer and it is the best investment I made for my pool! Last year we hardly swam because the water was just too cold. This year, after putting the cover on, the temperature jumped from 77 degrees to 85 degrees in my pool. With my solar cover, the water stays between 84 - 87 degrees. We swim every day now! It is very heavy and thick. It does weigh a lot, but thats a good thing! We have an above ground pool and no deck, so we simply roll it up as we get in the pool and leave it up on the ledge at one end of the pool. We call it "Bubble Mountain". When we have guests over to swim, we still roll it up as we walk in the pool, but we push the "mountain" over the side. You will need help getting it back in the pool since it is so heavy. If you leave it in the pool, its easy peasy getting it unrolled. Yes, you can run your filter with the cover on. Yes you can add chemical with the cover on. I have had no problems keeping my water clear even with rainy weeks.I definitely recommend this liner. You will NOT be disappointed!

Worked perfect! It’s sturdy and thick enough so it easily comes off and on the pool. Our pool temp rose about 5 degrees within a few days (it was June). We’ve had it for a few months now and it’s shown no signs of wear.
