Which major brand would you say this tastes closest to? KC Masterpiece, Bullseye, etc...

The hickory tastes great while being eaten - but does have a terrible Sucralose aftertaste. If you’re even moderately sensitive to that, you’ll notice it. HOWEVER, try this mixed up to 50/50 with Primal Kitchen’s unsweetened classic BBQ sauce, and then you’ll get true magic! The Primal Kitchen (also not great on its own) adds a lovely late heat that totally masks the sucralose aftertaste, and this sauce offers the much needed sweet and smoke that Primal Kitchen lacks. This mix is my fave now for chicken and steaks.

How is it sugar free if it has tomatoes? don't tomatoes have natural sugars?

It has no added sugar. This is true for all "sugar free" products. Whether the sugar in tomato shows up on the label depends on how much is used in recipe. Don't have my bottle handy to look at.
