Wow. Amazing desk. Do NOT let the two-piece surface deter you.
I bought this for $250 in May of 2023, about a year ago, and it's probably the single best purchase I've ever made on Amazon. As of April 2024, this desk is now only $200. Foremost - do NOT let the fact that the surface comes in two pieces deter you from purchasing this. This desk is extremely stable and study. The desk surface is completely scratch resistant, don't worry about writing too hard on it and leaving indentions. Yes, the reason they can make this desk so cheap is because they can ship it in a much smaller box by splitting the surface in two. However, the seam is far back enough so that you'd never even remember that it's there. From front to seam, it is 18.75 In. Unless perhaps you're using it for large paper-based art. If so, then yes, the seam would be susceptible to leaving holes in paper were a pencil to forcefully run across it. I've never once had that problem, but there is indeed an indention. If you plan to use a computer on this desk as I do for work, then the value and quality of this product is unlike anything else on this website. Competitors of lesser quality are often nearly twice the price. The stability is honestly hard to believe. Better and much cheaper than IKEA for sure (I love IKEA, hard for me to say that), and I believe the standing desk at my company's office is name-brand veridesk - it's as stable as that if not moreso, even on carpet, at the highest level of elevation. I am 5'10" and the highest it can go is still too high for me. I have had it for a year, and have raised&lowered it automatically 5-6 days a week with no issues since I first bought it. I do cardio in the mornings before work, and usually stand until lunch and sit from 1pm-5pm. No problems whatsoever. Assembly was easy, though be careful about over-tightening some of the screws before the others. I feel like doing so improperly would make the entire thin desktop bow inwards. Loosely place all the screws, them carefully tighten afterwards proportionally. Great sized workspace, the cherry red is very stylish, great value even when I bought it for 30% more than it is now. Whoever engineered this deserves a raise, and whoever is selling it needs a high five.

A great value - It works great for me - Easy to assemble
I've had the desk for a day and I'm very happy with it. In a nutshell: 1. Very easy to assemble. The instructions were exceptional. Each piece of the desk had a sticker with a letter. Each type of hardware was packaged in it's own bag with a letter. There are large diagrams with a diagram and the letters of the parts you need for each step. Everything about the assemble was well thought out. The kit includes two hex wrenches required for assembly. You will need to supply a Phillips screwdriver. A tip: Each part is typically held with multiple screws. Leave each screw loose until all of the screws have been started. This way the part can wiggle a little as you assemble the desk in order to allow easier alignment of the screws. 2. The desk weighed about 65 pounds. It feels solid I didn't find it rocked at all once assembled. Be certain to get the screws tight. 3. The desk lowered all the way measures 27 3/4 inches from the floor to the desk surface. Raised the legs to the top the legs measured 45 1/2 inches. It is pretty close to the specs in the listing. I would have preferred it lowered another inch but it's fine and meets specs. 4. The buttons are easy to store a height memory. The instructions are clear and concise. 5. The price is really great. This desk is not as nice as the one I have at work, but it costs about 1/2 the amount. 6. I purchased the Maple and white finish. It looks exactly as presented in the photo. It's really attractive. 7. I had no trouble with fit or finish. The desktop does come in two pieces and this does leave a visible seam in the surface. But, it is smooth and doesn't bother me. I have no nicks or other imperfections in the finished surfaces. All in all a great desk. Several reviewers have had trouble with the electronics. If my desk has any serious problems, I'll update the review.

Great & Affordable!
It’s a great desk and really not that complicated to build! I really how high I can set the desk so I’m not bound to sit the whole time and I also find the hooks at the side to be useful in hanging my headphones. I definitely recommend it if you’re wanting a stand up desk at a price that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg

come on amazon let me write a long title. color wrong desk good details inside
Original title cause amazon's a 🐩: the color of the top panel doesn't match the name or photo but your mileage will vary and it's still worth a buy so I needed a new desk. my old one was on the verge of decomposing and I didn't want to haul it all the way up a flight of stairs to my new residence. so after about an hour of intense migraines from scrolling through amazon I settled on this one. I can't remember how quickly it got delivered and it might have been delayed by like a day or two but it was well within the unsaid law of reasonable delivery time limits. I got it in maple cause my floors were hardwood, and deep in the moldy recesses of my brain I recalled someone saying they were maple, so I was like sweet, the photo appears to match my floors, so maybe I'll finally have something in my room that's coordinated with The Colors. it ships here and it is not the same maple. maybe my floors are misnamed, or maybe the trees they were hewn from spent their lives in the shade or something. but what's in the box looks more like what would happen if an ash blonde chick washed her hair with brass removing shampoo. I'd show a photo but I don't have any and I'm not going back to that residence for like a week. Maybe if you live in the world of overly saturated, sharpened and dodged landscape photos that are bizarrely popular in Facebook groups, it could look like maple. but it doesn't match my flooring. The faux woodgrain finish actually looks pretty nice, though, for particle board. Desk assembly went well. I am a complete numb🌰 when it comes to assembling things (there's a reason I named my homebuilt computer the Jank Queen. the sources of most noises that thing makes still elude me), and I deliberately take my time building things because my working memory is more like a roulette wheel and I don't want to waste energy shaving off a meager 15 seconds. I think I built it in like a half hour, 45 minutes? While not sporting Instagram-reel-worthy machining in any of the screw holes, it's a (I forgot how much it cost already)desk from china. Don't look at the teeth of a horse you got as a gift. Anyway, the screws actually fit well through the holes, unlike some other metal things from China I've bought recently, and everything is done with an Allen key, so I didn't need any extra tools. Now for the desk: I have two giant-🐴 monitors because I like to dedicate 75% of my screen space to pictures of thomas the tank engine characters, and because I will kick and scream and hiss before I give up my last remaining dell ultrasharp u3014. 16:10 is the best aspect ratio. don't fight me. I'll win. Anyway the two monitors I have measure 32(30??)" and 27???" inches diagonally and they are pretty heavy for flatscreen panels. ok maybe not the 27" but my gigantamax dell monitor makes up for it. When I adjust the height of the desk they don't budge. Not even a little jiggle from the ultrasharp. the motor that raises and lowers the desk does so incredibly gradually, starting slower at first and speeding up, but even at ludicrous speed it's still not very fast. if you're wealthy or vain or something else you probably have a set of two-pound tiny apple monitors that could give me a papercut with that horrendous lack of bezel. or maybe monitors have just gotten that thin as of recent times. I don't know. I hate trends. But if you have those I don't even know why you're worrying about the sturdiness of the desk. I tried wobbling it with a considerable amount of force and the thing shook like a little, but more in the way that train cars aren't bolted together in one big long line, but rather have a flexible divider. Like it's designed to have room to breathe. anyway I'm rambling. It's sturdy. It will hold anything you would need to put on a desk. The speed presets on the motor confused me for a bit because I threw away the manual after I built it, but I figured it out. It comes with 4 presets already, but you can change them. Click twice to active the preset height. I forgot already how to set the preset. It's in the manual. I think. The cable management basket on the bottom also confuses me, mostly because I am horrendously bad at it, but if your cables were long enough you could probably hide them better than I could. Note that wires are still very visible going from the motor to the wall and from your monitors to your computer, unless you don't have a million things plugged in like I do. That's ok. It's life. Happiness doesn't revolve around having a flawless polished room covered from ceiling to floor in retina scorching LEDs like all the reddit posts glorify. The drawer at the bottom is pretty useless. I use it to keep all the extra hardware I got from furnishing my new domicile. 8/10 not enough maple

Inexpensive Standing Desk - NO WOBBLING!
The desk arrived at my house a day early. I took it to work where I’ll be using it and put it together in about an hour and 15 minutes. I didn’t have help, but it will go much faster with a second person. There’s enough hardware, and extra hardware. The top of the desk comes in two pieces. Most of the screws, except the ones to hold in the height navigator can be screwed in with an Allen wrench. I used a small star screw driver for the keypad (height navigator). There are four presets, which is more than enough for one person, and an up and down arrow. I don’t know what exactly the numbers mean, maybe centimeters, but it goes from 69 to 114 in height. The desk is NOT wobbly at all. I have the 48” one. It’s more than enough space. I do emails and cold calling all day, so I needed enough space for two monitors and a manual way to take notes. The directions are easy to follow. The legs are wobbly and won’t stand up straight on their own because they’re too top heavy, but once you get passed the 2nd or 3rd step then it’s good to go. On the bottom of the instructions it says something about don’t screw in the screws until they’re all started, which basically means put them in enough so they don’t fall out, and then tighten them. If you start on one end and screw all the way in then some of the pieces don’t line up right and you have to start again. The instructions tell you that you can hang the basket and hooks on any side, that it is up to your preference, but I didn’t know what my preference was starting out, so it’s nice you can move them after you’re done. For the record, my preference is to have the basket on the back and the hooks on the right, as that is the side closest to the door of my office, so I can just hang up my purse. I was really worried that the desk would be annoyingly cheap because it was less than $200 and my brother told me good standing desks aren’t less than $600, but this one is great. I had to add an extension cord thing to plug all my stuff in because the desk needs to be plugged into power to work, but it wasn’t a big deal. The basket can hold the electrical for the desk and the extra extension cord. I am very pleased with this purchase and grateful for the reviews of this product because they were all correct! The only thing that is semi-inconvenient is that sometimes when I’m holding the button to move the desk up or down it pauses, but I think that’s just so you get the exact height you want without it going too fast. There is a LOT of styrofoam protecting the pieces of the desk inside the box and you may make a mess of it where ever you set up, but I’ll take it since none of the parts were damaged or unusable. I do think this desk may be hard to transport as is, so it may be beneficial to take the table top off and transport it separately if needed. If you read this far, this is your sign to BUY this! You won’t regret it!

Great standup desk
Great product. The instructions were easy to follow to assemble. Some parts that could have been confusing had easy to understand pictures and instructions. It's solid, stable and moves up and down easily and consistently and it's great for my home office. Great purchase

So worth it !!
I am not one to leave reviews for stuff, whether I like them or not. But THIS, I just had to! I LOVE IT !! I bought this last Saturday, and loved the fact it was available next day Sunday! Set it up the same day just a few days ago and made these videos. Assembly was pretty easy! Just make sure you also have your own screwdriver kit in handy. You’ll only need it once. But mines came in great condition. Everything working. Got a 55” black. Love the material. I’m 5’4 and this table goes up so high!!! Like dang! And I’ve seen people say how it’s slow to go up and down. No it is not. It’s a perfect “speed” , why would you want to have something go fast when that’s how things damage? It’s not slow at all ! I just love it overall I literally have no complaints!

*UPDATE* ---- Now a satisfied customer ----
Update! March 2023 - SHW finally followed through on their promise to send me a functioning desk. The desk is great and it functions perfectly! Assembly was easy, but I fully recommend having a second person help you put it together. Now that it is set up and working I am very happy. I can see how the seam in the table might be annoying to some, but for me, it is barely noticeable. Overrall, I am very satisfied with the result, even if the process was a bit painful getting there. _____________________________________________________________________________ Original Review: I do NOT recommend this desk because mine arrived non-functioning and customer service was not helpful or supporting. Read on for details: I wish I could say this was a great desk and it worked perfectly, but I never even got past the unboxing. I was so excited about this desk and I am now incredibly disappointed in the product - but more so in the customer service. I was one of the unlucky few who received my desk with the motor not appropriately assembled. Luckily I found this error before I assembled the whole desk! In the attached photos you can clearly see the motor is not fully assembled and is just hanging loose. I have no idea how this passed any sort of quality control (or perhaps it didn't even go through it?), but the motor is very clearly hanging loose and not functional. I tried to see if there was any way for me to install my own screws to secure it, but the way it is built there is no way to get the screws in where they need to fit. After attempting to MacGyver it and not finding a solution, I reached out to Customer Service at [email protected]. Initially, they were very responsive and told me they were sorry for the inconvenience and they would be happy to replace the part. They asked me to provide my Amazon order number and a photo of the LED panel to verify the model of my desk and they would send a part. This information was provided and I have heard nothing since then. It has been nearly a month since I provided the information and I have followed up several times with NO RESPONSE from the manufacturer. I can only assume at this point that they were stringing me along to try to run out my return window. I was initially impressed with the desk, but the Customer Service has been so disappointing that I would not recommend purchasing anything from this manufacturer. It seems that some others have had better luck than myself, but honestly - save yourself the hassle and buy another desk from a manufacturer that actually backs their product.

Excellent Budget Electric Standing Desk
Great bang for your buck! The first one I got had a leg/motor that was non-functional on arrival, and after only a bit of chatting with the friendly customer service a new desk was sent! The desk itself is just fine, it does what it says on the tin, electric, you can save 4 heights (I only set sitting and standing, not sure what to do with the 3rd and 4th! :P ), it is not very slow to rise and lower. It can support 3 monitors with mounts (though I recommend sturdier mounts than my second hand double monitor mount - the solo is pretty solid). Typing makes the desk shake with the mount setup I have, so not super sturdy, but perhaps I could take it apart and tighten it up. Setup was pretty straightforward, not super quick, but you should only have to do it once so 🤷. The desk comes with a super thin drawer good for knick knacks and clutter to be cleaned into (has little dividers that can be individually inserted, but is by default at minimum two long sections). Has a cable gromet thingy, two headphone hooks (which move when you grab your headphones, so some modification could help), and a wire cable rack (it is sturdy, and really only made for cables, but you can fit a power bar up there if you try). The desk top is quite thin and does come in two pieces (see photos) but the front half is larger, and with the Rustic Brown the seam is fairly unnoticeable. Think that's about it, definitely not a high end desk, but great budget wise. Could put a different desk top on if you are handy as an upgrade in the future.

What a great desk!
I am VERY impressed by this desk considering the price. It's noticeably less expensive than IKEA desks, while being of similar or slightly inferior quality. Actually, the height controller is better than IKEA's. The packaging and assembly instructions are well thought out. The desk is sturdy enough for any normal use. The height control has memory settings. This seems like a small feature, but it's quite nice to have up to 4 easily repeatable height patterns at the press of a button. The only downside I can think of is that it comes in "two panels" for the working section. The panels are butt-jointed using 8 dowels and are held together by the side brackets. This means that the center is less supported vs "torqueing" efforts. This means that a clamped monitor arm might not be ideal. Having said that, any type of standard usage on the surface (normal monitor and whatnot) is perfectly fine. It's very easy to compare with IKEA since the latter is very popular for standing desks. The SHW's desk is close to half the price, but not for "half the product". For most uses, the SHW will be a great choice for a very reasonable price.

For the price it's great
It's a good desk, the motor works well, and it's sturdy. The storage tray screws ended up getting pulled out and leaving a mess. The screws don't thread into proper threads just into the wood. Assembly was easy, just take your time to not cross thread. For the price, this is a great desk.
