PERFECT!!!! Works just as described
I don’t write a lot of reviews but when I do it has to be good. Let me give you the pros and cons (A LOT MORE PROS THAN CONS).Pros: easy to set up and use. Meat is tender and juicy every time. My steaks are cooked to perfection. I like my steak Medium Well, my wife likes hers Well Done and our friends like theirs Medium, with these meat thermometers each one is just perfect. The app tells you about when each should be complete and how long to rest. Our chicken, pork chops and lamb are just as juicy and tender. The charge last along time did not make it to 22 hours (I smoked a brisket and the charged stopped after about 21 hours) but got a very long use before it stopped. The probs are VERY EASY TO CLEAN!!!Cons: to charge the unit it has to be turned off to charge and when it is charging there is not light to let you know the status of the charge. When you plug the cord in to charge it is behind the kickstand which makes it awkward to plug in the port. And the last con is the Meater Block has to be next to the probs so when you are grilling, and it starts to rain (or snow here in MN) your Meater Block get wet I had me make a shelter for the Meater Block as it is not waterproof.Overall this is the best product on the market and would highly recommend you getting this one, you won’t be dissatisfied with it.

Pricey, but works great and is worth it
I rarely write reviews, but will make an exception here. The Meater works amazing, is super convenient and easy to use. Being totally wireless is a game changer when it comes to smoking, wrapping and moving a roast or meat to different cooking sources. The App is awesome and so easy to set up. I’ve had a few wireless probes, and they still need to connect to a unit. So if you are cooking multiple items you can have wires running in and out of your grill, then if you need to wrap a brisket or move to a grill it becomes a hassle. The MEATER is a game changer and although it’s pricey it is awesome. I’ve read reviews about the probes constantly losing connection, and mine did after the first cook or two. But if you follow the probe cleaning directions carefully, clean the entire probe from tip to base in hot water, white vinegar and baking soda problem solved. If the probes aren’t cleaned well after use they don’t get a good charge in the base and may have trouble connecting or working right. Keep your probes clean, they are waterproof . The ease of use in being totally wireless is great and the range when connected wifi is amazing. I’ve gone through several cheap “wireless” meat thermometers and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. 5 ⭐️‘S

Great concept, needs more thought in the execution
**update** 12/11/19 **update**I wanted to provide a small note here that I'm not pretty sure that the probes are only charged via the USB and the actual unit that is reading the probes uses battery. I think this to be true because my probes were on the charger for quite some time, i went out for a cook and it started telling me my unit (meater block) was low on battery. No big deal i thought, i grabbed the charger and plugged it in, to my surprise it did nothing. I had to change the batteries out. This is a huge waste of money if you're having to purchase or even recharge additional batteries. why not just have the unit charge with the charging wire!?? If i could send this back at this point, I would. I really really wanted this to be the great product it seems it can be.**********************************************************************************************************************Original Full review:This one is tough. I want to say I love the thermometers because, I do. There's just so many things that don't seem to add up that leave me perplexed as to how this didn't come up during testing.Lets get one thing clear right off the top, it meets expectations. Here are things I think are pros:The product -- the product itself works as expected. You put your probe in, use the app to set a temp and it notifies you when that temp is reached. This is it in a nutshell and that't ultimately what it does.Battery life -- I've cooked a pork shoulder for about 10 hours and had no issues with battery life, that's about as much as I can speak to that.Maintenance/Cleaning -- super easy. The probes can be cleaned with warm water using your favorite antimicrobial soap or dish soap and you're good. Here's where things start to get silly in my opinion. You have a block with 4 probes that get charged via USB (or battery but lets be real most of us are going to go with USB). Now let's say you are starting a cook that will require just one probe, still no issues you take your one probe insert it where needed and off you go with the rest of your settings etc. To power on that one probe, you must power on the block, if the block is on all 4 probes are on. Why not just let me choose which probe should be powered on while allowing the others to remain off for conservation of battery? Maybe it does let you do this but I didn't see it in the documentation and/or the settings. I'm also aware (or am poorly assuming maybe) that the other probes that are still in the block are being charged if the block remains on the USB or battery power. Still it would be best if they were not on at all if not used. Now we're in our cook have our protein on the grill, smoker etc and you close the lid. Your block is sitting nicely on your counter top which is likely a sliding glass door between and 30 feet away. Well your block will likely not see the Probes. So now you have to bring the block out by the smoker. To me this is no big deal, i thought i'll take this little black thing out of its bamboo holder and we're good. Well maybe I was to hesitant to pry on it more but I dont think the thing comes out. You have to take the entire block over to your grill area in order for it to pick them up. I honestly would not mind this but I really feel like I don't want to take the entire set with me i really wanted to just be able to take the small black thing and put it near the cooker. To me these are just logical but again I could be using this thing all wrong however if that is the case then I would have to say that the small amount of documentation needs to be updated to further explain. In all, you are still going to get a thermometer that eliminates wires which to me is huge. Your cooks will be simpler and better with it. It's just still a little rough around the edges in terms of practicality.

Great Customer Support
Meater has awesome customer support representatives. They definitely know their stuff. But their aplomb is what won the day for me. The product itself is adequate. It's very convenient to have a device that reports as much as this one does. I definitely missed it when it was broken. The technicians eventually decided to replace my device. I got the "Block" which has 4 probes. Why would you need all those probes? Well, when my device was out of service, I missed having them. If you have multiple pieces of meat, you've got multiple probes. However, 2 of the probes weren't very reliable on their temperature reporting. But that's getting fixed by the replacement. Did I say how awesome their tech support people are? But they weren't powder puffs; they still queried all of the issues, including my router setup. So we did "real troubleshooting".

Must have for cooks.
Works great, super useful for steaks. Made the best steak I ever managed, thanks to the MEATER Block. Very easy to use and quick to setup. Any meat you want to cook it has great suggested temps, very versatile. It's portability is great with 4 double A's and a cellphone you can use it anywhere. The display is no nonsense and let you know exactly what you need to know.-Edit- After using this device for so long, this is still an amazing device. However from time to time the temperatures and cook time aren't exactly accurate. This is not an issue for a family that's not concerned about a rarer steak, but if you have a guest that doesn't like a real rare steak it can cause issues. Also it has been dropping wifi connection to my phone more and more often lately. I use mine weekly, and it drops connection each time. Usually it reconnects not too long after but when your cook is down to the last 5 min, it's a terrible time to reconnect.

I now use it every time I cook in the oven or on the Green Egg,
I waited for a while to review because it took me longer than I would have guessed to get used to working with it. Today I cooked a 2" boneless ribeye on the Green Egg, indirectly using the meater up to 110 °, then pulled meater and did heavy sear which worked perfectly. The last several cooks have been equally successful, including a 13 lb bone in pork butt last weekend. My recommendations after several months of use--Charge it after you use it, and charge it again before you use it. If the probes are not properly charged it is a pain to recover from. If the block is not charged it will disconnect from the probes, but you can just keep it plugged into a portable charger while you're using it and just stop worrying about it.Keep the block within 6-10 feet of the probes or it will eventually lose connection.I never had any issues keeping it connected to WiFi .I used my own temp goals rather than their preprogrammed, because honestly we just all know better 😊😊All in all I love that it has both the ambient temp and the meat temp because it's a good double check on whatever type of smoker controller you might be using.

How easy it is to use and how great it works!
The MEATER is the best meat probe I have ever used. I love the WiFi I get the temperature anywhere I’m at. I really like the probe telling me the intior temp and also the smoker temp.I would suggest to anyone, beginner or expert cooking on a grill or smoker.Shannon W.

I really regret this - and am on the search for something new
So I have had this for a little over 2 years. Started out pretty good but as time has gone on there has been massive fail one after another of probes losing connection, not connecting at all. Every time I have used there is a wifi issue, a disconnect, a million alerts. I am now down to 2 probes that will function and have zero idea why. When I start out I never ever know before cooking what will work today. I'm officially done. I spent a wad of money on this and regret it immensely. When it works it does work well but this is honestly just too hyped up and I am extremely glad that I didn't recommend to friends that they buy shortly after I did.

Wireless and works perfectly
This is a seriously nice piece of kit.It not only looks great, but is easy to use and works exactly as I hoped. The app is really nice and easy to use.The only minor criticism I have is that the little numbered clips that identify each probe fall of easily and can be lost.Expensive at $450 in Australia but you get what you pay for.

Simple Set Up - Not..
Set up complicated and did not work. Suggested I needed to change my internet settings to accommodate the item which I was unable to do. What should be a ‘plug and play’ item turns in to an expensive annoyance…

It works

Accurate temperatures on your Phone!
These may be expensive but work better than any other food thermometers we have every had. Since you interact via an app you don't even have to be near your cooker (not only for the barbeque!) to monitor. Tells you when to remove, how long to rest and when the meat is ready. We have the block so that we can cook 4 different pieces of meat to required temperature. Great talking point!
