40V 16in Push Lawn Mower, 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger

Great to have my own lawnmower. It will eventually save me money, I've been paying to have my lawn mowed twice monthly in the summers. The mower has been working great. I find the battery lasts much longer than what I hear from other reviewers.. The grass gets mowed well, and I think fast, from what I was expecting. I'm 78 yrs old, and never thought I'd do my own mowing, and was encouraged by other 70 something friends to get a mower. It's been working fine and the pushing of the mower is pretty effortless, although,, someone said I should get the one that is self propelled, but this one does the job. I put the battery in the charger as soon as I finish mowing. It is pretty quiet and easy to push. I didn't have any problem putting it together, friend had a minor amount of work to assemble it. It's lightweight and easy to handle. I haven't learned how to fold it, I guess I'll do that in the winter when I won't be using it.

I feel compelled to write a review. This thing is like a toy with superpowers! LOL I am a woman in my 60's and we have a steep hill that got out of control. The grass was 12-18 inches high and this thing was able to cut it. I did have to start out on the highest level and then cut it again on a lower level. Truly worked amazing. Super lightweight and easy to start and maneuver even on the steep hill side. Easy to put together, basically just add handle and bagger. Super quiet too, not that it really mattered to me. Battery life has allowed me to cut the area 4 times now in one charge.

This Cuts Deep!Note this is for the 16" 40V 4 amp mower.So, first time caller line for electric mowers! I'm rating this right out of the gate four out of five stars because, first time. You can't go rating a lawnmower 5/5 on your first run, it's nonsensical to do so. Anyway, I've NEVER used an electric mower before so this felt a little odd, but not overly so. It sounds like a mower, just like... two houses down when its right in your face. And thank god it's mostly plastic (more on that in a bit) because it makes it really easy to throw it around. I was one arming it quite a lot, jerking it around to catch spots I missed and basically really happy I didn't spend more for a self propelled, which would have been silly. This thing doesn't weigh much at all, you can lift it one armed by the handle and everything.The experience was pretty great. We're deep in our dry season and it's getting quite hot here so the grass is pretty sparse, not a challenge for it. BUT, the ditch was really overgrown so I had to do about 30' of 1' tall thick weeds and grass. I noticed that when it got loaded down, the RPMs went up about double to compensate. That's a neat touch. It cut right through that mess like butter, and took out some other thick, heavy weeds like any gas mower would, no problem. And it was silly easy to push, really no big deal. As I said, I took to one arming it and jerking it back and forth like a toy, and my dominant arm has a tendon injury near the elbow so I should be in a lot of pain from doing that but I'm really not. It's a pleasure to use, does great.The area I cut was just about 3000 sq feet, mostly sparse grass with the really thick patch in the ditch about 30' x 5', and a couple other small patches of thick weeds. I cut the whole thing set to mid height, I guess 3"? The battery dropped from full charge to about half, according to just the four LEDs on it. Maybe the thick overgrown stuff took it down but that's probably something to keep in mind if you're looking at a big yard to cut. Maybe go ahead and grab an aftermarket battery just to not have delays on bigger jobs? I'm getting one of their 40V weed eaters with a 2 amp battery so I'll have that as well eventually. The battery itself was pleasantly warm after I got done. Not hot, just warm.Note, the blade housing area IS PLASTIC, so I would expect wear to happen over time, especially with like rocks or whatever hitting it occasionally. You also probably don't want to scrape too hard when cleaning it. Me, I'd use a scotchbrite I think. I didn't need to clean it because this is our dry season and only the front yard had any substantial grass, so it's really just dusted with grass scum underneath. Lots of dust on the top but I don't have a hose yet so I'll let that be for now.Thoughts of the day? I'm happy enough with it. I didn't want to get a mower in the first place but my landlord dropped the lawn services off my lease so I had to do something and didn't want to get into gas mowers for a number of reasons. And my yard isn't huge, just 3500 square feet total, so there's good and then there's overkill. This is good category. Big LiPo batteries are expensive, so be ready for that when it eventually dies, but... should get some decent use out of it before that time comes and aftermarket batteries are substantially cheaper as long as you get a good one and not some POS that is rated for the moon and stars but delivers half dead swill instead. Also, here's a cheery thought - these produce power full time right out the spring terminals (2x +, 2x -) so you can do whatever you wanna do with that. I envision a nice 3A regulator assembly addon spitting out whatever voltage I'd like at that moment to power whatever I may need. Why not? 40V x 4 amp is pretty big power density, shame to let it sit there unused between mowings. Would also be neat to see if it can jump start a car, lol. Not set up for that, but I can see it being a thing in a pinch. Just don't let it crater or sit there at full capacity because neither is a happy space for LiPos. Keep it tailed off about mid if you're not going to use it. Speaking of which, after this first mowing the output is sitting at about 37.2V. I didn't think to measure it at full charge, but I can come back to that and give y'all the picky details.So yep, I like it. I think I'll like it even more when I have the matching weed eater plus battery. Summary: It's light, it's effective, it cuts nicely, its very easy to push around, mulches the crap out of the thick stuff, and I expect it to be easy to maintain. If it doesn't die in untimely fashion, I'll come back and bump it to five stars. Could do a lot worse. :-)NR417

Ok so let me start with probably useless information but please read on if you’re curious .I have always been a huge fantasy and sci fi fan - so as technology advances and things just get cooler I anticipate seeing how they work . So here we go with the actual valuable information .I had a name brand gas mower last season , hit a tie down strap that was cemented in the ground . Bent blade,the whole shaft , cracked the motor. =DoneSo I was in the market - I found this , read some reviews like everyone else . I liked what I seen and ordered it . Now here is where I was blown away, first and foremost strait out the box it was lightweight as described , handle makes it easy to handle , lift , and control - the weight is balanced well . My overall first honest opinion and reaction -wow! But at the same time I said this is gonna mow the yard , feels like the little tikes mower I used as a kid like a toy . It was packaged nicely and the level of support and attention to the packaging mattered to me because it being lightweight and possibly being thrown around , or tossed around during shipping . So 5-star there .And getting it out of the box , it was literally 4 handles. That are click in place by the way . Like literally can not be any easier . So popped the handle up into place check the stability and shakiness in the handle and the base - there was none, thanks to the sleek design .Firm and no play , instant control . Now to the battery and the charging . Again packaged nicely , I had no worry about a defected battery based off of appearance after opening it .I put it on the charger for the first charge - and here is the part you will have to choose , I did not charge it the recommended hours as most people don’t but it does matter with some devices and products . I charged it for 3 hours and at that point it was fully charged .The next day was the day to put it in action . So put the batter in and let me tell you Getting it started literally push of a button , no pulling a cord , no repeated cranking , pushed one time , pulled handle down - there it went , running a quiet humming noise, almost nothing to hear over . The sound is literally none . You will be able to hear every lyric to every song your listening to lolbvs . So I like that . It is very quiet while running .5-star there as well .Now to the part that matters - mowing , how does it mow ?Well I will tell you I have a small yard which is why I got the model I did. The -1 hour run time is accurate so far . By the time I am done mowing it literally is on the last bar of green .However it does not run differently as the power is running low , it is consistent cutting until the battery dies , the power actually revs up when it needs to and idles back down when not needed and normal . So this is a well built machine . And I actually recorded a video of a section next to my yard that was overgrown . I’m not sure about the sound but I hope it’s to where you can hear it run while working hard . The video below is right before I quit for the day so it was at the last green bar at this point . And it didnt skip a beat . Kept working as well as it had been . So my final thoughts on this product - truly impressive .I have worked construction for over 20 years , used multiple types of tools in my life . And have used even a the olde manual mower with 2 wheels and blades , and I’ve used gas mowers , self propelled , riders , zero turns .This is an impressive machine . If you have a small yard , want a nice clean smooth cut . Easy to handle . Don’t want to worry about gas or gas prices when it’s time to mow . This is definitely a product you should invest in . I say that with absolute confidence. This is a purchase I’m glad I made and invested in .I hope this helps , there is a lot of doubt surrounding electronic tools , vehicles, etc … but the technology behind it now days is very different than what they were so the products them selves are very different . ( i have used it for 5 mows at the point in the video as well )5-star product all around .

I don't know much about lawn mowers, but if it's dad-approved, it has to be good! Everything was as described and shown. He loved how easy and fast it got the job done, even though our grass was a little too long. He also liked how it's not as loud as other lawn mowers we've owned. One thing he did mention is how the battery lasted less on the first use, but after then started lasting much more, so no biggie.Overall, very good product, I'm glad I got it at a good deal :)

This lawnmower is so cool. I have a small lawn that my HOA gardeners take care of. They do a lousy job but I wasn't sure that I wanted to take on that project myself. This mower is super awesome. Lightweight, easily stores in a deck shed. I can lift it out with one hand. But don't think it's a lightweight on the lawn. Tears through even the longest grass, cutting evenly and placing it in the attached grass catcher. The battery you say? I can mow 2+ times on one charge. But it's so simple to slip out and put on the charger, that's what I do after each use. Don't even hesitate if you think you need this.You do!!

I bought the Greenworks 40V 16-inch push mower because I wanted to see how a battery-powered mower would hold up, and I’ve been really impressed with it. We’re now into the second season using it, and the battery still holds a charge very well. I’ve never had it lose power while mowing, and I really like having the bagger attachment when I want to collect the clippings. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and has worked much better than I expected from a battery mower. I would definitely recommend it.

The wife uses this mower for where the rider won't get to. She loves how quiet it is and how light weight and easy to push it is. It actually mows really well and cuts the grass very good. The only thing is the 40V battery will not last for a big yard. So, it would be good to have a backup. It handles well and seems to be very durable so far. I think we have many seasons we will get out of this mower.
