This is an amazing product making it a breeze to make cold brew coffee and tea at home! Very convenient, easy to follow instructions and the filter works well keeping coffee grounds and loose tea contained during the brewing process. The end result is great tasting cold brew! Love it!

The one quart cold brew coffee maker is really great. The coffee is good, and it’s an easy, hands off way to make iced coffee. The size is perfect for one or two people, and it fits well in the fridge and in cabinets. I bought a second one for iced tea or infused water. I do find it’s hard to get totally strong coffee from a cold brew maker; I sort of like a tinge of bitterness sometimes. But that is standard with cold brew.

This system easily saves me money on coffee versus pre-packaged bottles. It’s easy to use and clean - all parts disassemble for washing. It’s so far completely leak free. I bought a second one to always have coffee brewing so I don’t run out. There’s a learning curve with saturating grounds and keeping them all down in the filter for brewing. Some batches are weaker because of it. But still worth it because I have good coffee that’s easier on my wallet.

I have been using this cold brewer since 2020. It is holding up really well. It's easy to use, easy to take apart and clean, and the 1qt size is perfect for me to have a cup of coffee every morning for the week.

I'm updating this review. I've watched a couple vids on this thing, and everyone seems to be doing this the hard way. The basket it tall and skinny. You have to hold it and spoon the coffee in. Ho hum, what a bother. Wait a minute! No you don't! This is much easier: Before you fill the brewer with water, just plop the basket into it, which holds it for you. Then you can simply pour the coffee into the basket directly from the bag it comes in, one handed, while you smoke a $25 cigar with the other hand! There. That was a lot easier, wasn't it? Then, remove the basket, screw the lid on, fill the container with water, and you're golden. It's watertight, so shake it a few times. They recommend 24-36 hours. There's a couple ways to speed that up. Heat a quart of water in the microwave, but not quite to boiling, and use that water. The plastic is rated for it. Then let it sit out overnight. Cold brew can easily exist at these temps for 12 hours or more. Warmer temps = quicker cold brew. Reviewed.com thinks this is the best cold brew pitcher out there. I agree. It is a marvel of engineering. Everything about it is just perfect. Whenever you pick it up, fill it, clean it, or use it, it's fun, because it feels solid and elegant, and well-thought-out. And the price is right. The only thing that could make it better is a water-line mark for filling (added my own). And, it's cute! Do you have to remove the basket after 24-36 hours? No. I leave it in until the cold brew is gone. No problem. Day 4 will be a tiny bit stronger than day 1. Is sediment really an issue? Let's put that one to bed, right now. In a word, no. It's really not. Sediment has a couple of minor problems. But the biggest problem it has is that it might be visually unappealing. The other issue is has is it can impart a gritty feel to the palate. Other than that, it really has no other issues at all. But there are simple ways around this, much simpler than refiltering. What is sediment? Is sediment a bad word? Again, no. Sediment is coffee. It has the exact chemical structure as the molecules suspended between water molecules in the rest of the coffee. So it is not something to be abhorred because it might be ruining your coffee. It actually is coffee, so that would be impossible. And you can ignore it. Sediment is clumps of those same coffee molecules too large to be suspended along with the other molecules, so it sinks to the bottom of the brewer, or to the bottom of the cup. Just pour from the brewer, and the sediment (99% of it) stays behind. If any gets in your cup, it sinks to the bottom. About the worst that could happen is that there could be a slight gritty texture to the very last drops in your cup. Your very last half-sip as you drain the cup. That’s it. If you don’t like that, just don’t do that. Stop when all that is left is the tiny bit of sediment (and the cup will clean easier, too). But it doesn’t taste bad. It tastes like coffee. It is coffee. It is honestly not a problem. And if you are put off by the visual of sediment, you can ignore that, too. It sinks, so it’s out of sight. This brewer does create sediment. Is it a problem? No. And if you want even less sediment, just use a coarse ground, and let the brewer sit another day longer. Grinding the coffee yourself in a hand grinder (actually kind of fun!) will give the least sediment, if done properly. The secret to long life is flexibility. Cold-brew is a sea change, it’s different than what we were used to for generations. But it’s better in many ways. It’s a welcome change. It’s a new paradigm, and is the new normal. If you can get over the fact that coffee you have been used to does not have sediment, and that cold-brew might have a small amount (which is not problematic and is both easily ignored and avoided) then you’re golden. I've used this brewer for 4 years. It's still going strong, and never disappoints.

I purchased both this and the iced tea maker as a way to make my own beverages at home and save some money as well. They are both great products and you might be wondering if they are different at all. First of all, this product works great. Like all Japanese products, it feels high-quality. It is essentially a pitcher with a two-piece detachable filter and an airtight lid with basically two "notch" positions - closed and "open enough to pour," though you'll probably just take the lid off when you serve. The pitcher is oblong, which doesn't come through in the pictures, so you can lay it on its side for brewing, which is recommended for the coffee maker. The handle is also big and thick, with a rubberized grip. The differences between this and the iced tea maker are basically that the filter material used feels different. This has a silky, denser mesh, while the iced tea maker is a more standard, coarse, more open mesh. You can buy replacements for either one. The iced tea maker has a method of pouring hot water directly into the maker for brewing that is not advertised for this one, although everything is exactly the same except for the filter so I'm pretty sure you can use that method with the coffee maker as well, although again the filter material itself is different. The iced tea maker also comes with a little cup that acts as a holder for the filter, which can stand up by itself when the lid is not screwed on. The coffee maker does not come with the cup. I also found that, in general, tea soaks up less water than coffee, so I had to take out the coffee maker halfway through the brew, maybe before I went to sleep, and fill it up with some more water, whereas I didn't have to do that with the iced tea maker. I did find that the handle part of the pitcher where the lid screws in, the actual colored part, often feels slightly loose and made me feel like I had to tighten it slightly. Please note that only the color of this piece and the lid are different. The two-piece filter only comes in black no matter what color you choose. One piece of the filter screws into the lid and the actual filter part screws into that first piece. It has a flat bottom, so can stand-up by itself, as previously mentioned. Of course, this is a great airtight pitcher in and of itself, even when you're not using the filter and just need something big to mix/shake a drink in and pour it. It takes about 2 cups of ground coffee to brew a full pitcher, and I have noticed the slightest bit of leaking as I use this maker. We're talking a few drops after an overnight of brewing on its side and sealed airtight. If you close it all the way and hold it upside down, nothing is going to immediately leak unless you leave it that way for an extended period of time. It's slightly harder to clean out the coffee maker just because coffee grounds are messier than tea, including some thick soupy buildup that you're going to see at the top of the filter. Get ready to shake out about 95% of it into your trash can and rinse out the rest below a running sink. It's also a little hard to find the exact perfect way to pour coffee grounds into the filter without spilling any, and I've settled on using a corner of the bag itself to do it. The iced tea maker seems to come in brighter colors than the coffee maker. Takeya also makes a spa water infuser version of this with a more open plastic filter, but you can easily use this or the coffee maker and just infusion spa water by dropping fruit directly into the water, without having to use the filters at all, which will give you a stronger flavor anyway. The instructions tell you to use medium roast beans, but I love blonde roasts the most and I have made very good cold brew with this. Just make sure you use filtered water obviously and not tap water since you are cold brewing this, and wash everything thoroughly after each use before re-brewing. I have found that flavored beans like vanilla or hazelnut taste absolutely amazing cold brewed with this maker. Please note that you will not yield a full 2 quarters of brewed coffee because the filter and the grounds take up alot of volume in the container. I can get about 3-4 large glasses.

I've always preferred cold drinks to hot ones so imagine my joy when companies started selling pre-made cold-brew coffee in the grocery store. At about $7 per bottle though, it was costing me more to buy it that way rather than brewing my own hot coffee and adding ice. It wasn't until I was perusing YouTube and saw one of my favorite YT'ers pouring her own cold-brew out of a refrigerated container. I immediately toggled to Amazon in a search for one similar and I found this product. After comparing prices and reviews, I decided to give this one a try. 3 weeks and several brews later here are my takeaways: Pros: Easy to clean and use, coffee tastes great, not going back to buying pre-made! Cons: Durability seems fragile as the soft foamy plastic on the handle is coming up already, it will leak if you don't screw the lid on tight so beware, since it has to brew laying down it takes up more space in my small fridge than I'd like Overall though, it's a much cheaper alternative to pre made cold brews and you can control the strength and taste of your coffee by selecting the brand/grounds/roast you want and by adding more or less ground to the filter. Special Note: I read through a lot of reviews and it seems the main issue most people had was the coffee grounds seeping into the liquid. It appears from reading the replies from the manufacturer and by my own experience with this, that they have created a smaller mesh filter and have stopped shipping the product with the old style. The new style is so good that I'm using fine ground coffee and have had NO grounds in my end product. So please disregard older comments about this issue if you're ordering this for the first time. Another main issue is about the leaking but if you screw the top on securely and shake any excess out into a sink before placing it back into the fridge that will prevent leakage. For just in case, it's good to have a paper towel under your brewer when placed on its side.

This is an easy to use and very easy to clean Cold brew container, the filter is very fine and no coffee particles end up in the brew. One thing I would recommend is not to place the coffee grinds into the sieve, but place them inside the jar with out the sieve being used until you want to filter the mix as trying to get the water in contact with the coffee grinds packed in the sieve isn't as easy as it is to just shake the container with the grind lose inside, you get a better end result, If I were you I would try both ways and see which you prefer. They say to do a coarse grind, I haven't found any difference with a coarse or fine grind, flavour seems to be exactly the same, I find time makes the biggest difference as well as temperature. Yes it's a cold brew :) but how cold will tell you how long to keep it in, my fridge is set a little colder than the recommended 4C, this means that things inside the fridge last longer, it also means the Cold brew will brew a little slower. Just remember though that it's a to your taste brew, just make a few different brews trying different grinds as well as time in the fridge, I have it to the point where I like the end result and only need one third of a cup of brew to make a very nice Iced Coffee or I add the milk/water to the level of my cup and pour the mix into my little saucepan and heat it up to have a hot coffee, I am not a fan of Microwaves for drinks, each to their own :) Lastly, the beans also will make a difference, this means a different brand of Beans will give a different result, I use two brands of Beans and mix them, this way I get the flavour I really enjoy.

Honestly, I love this product. I’ve been spending so much money buying iced coffee at coffee shops when this helps my coffee taste even better, while also saving me a lot of money. Pros: - it makes a great tasting cup - it’s easy to clean and easy to use - it keeps coffee at good temperature and distributes it well Cons: - I wish it was bigger. It makes enough for about 3 cups each time.

This is my second purchase of a cold brew coffee maker. But not the same as my previous one. The old one I had was made out of glass and unfortunately, it was pretty thin and lasted for a year and a half. It developed a crack near the lid on top. So I decided to get a new one before the crack propagates to the bottom of the glass jug. This was an item with a decent amount of reviews and was ranking 4.5 stars. This item exceeds the previous cold brew maker in terms of rating by the number of reviews and roughly the same ranking. What do I like? It is made out of plastic, but of high quality and should last longer The lid completely closes the container so there is no chance of spilling. Much quicker to completely soak the coffee grounds all that is needed is to give it a good shake. Most items in this category usually need stirring. Everything just screws on. What I dislike The instructions mention if you want to make it more concentrated it is recommended to pull the filter out and drain the remaining liquid into the rest of the concentrate for 45mins. But there is no easy way to do that unless you have a separate container where you can pour the concentrate and for the filter to rest above it. Because this a close and shake cold brew maker would imagine the rubber seal will be the first thing to go. But im sure that can be easily replaced. I have not given a flavour rating as I think it is irrelevant to this item because you're never going to get apple to apple comparison between other individuals who have written a review. But what I will say in comparison to my old one, the ratio between coffee and water seems higher than my previous one which required 1.1L to 80g of coffee. The instructions for this item require around 950ML to 108g of Coffee so it is more concentrated.
