It's auto detects 48v-57v with 60w max.

Does this have a surge protection feature?

I do not know the answer to this with certainty. However, the technical spec says the following: " Protection: - Over current protection - Over load protection - Over voltage protection - Anti-interference protection"

Will it work with rj45 cat 8 ?

RJ45 is a plug standard, categories are the cable standards. As long as it is RJ45 it will fit. As for the cable standard, is cat8 even ratified yet? I thought we were still on 6A...
