As someone who has been buying mascara for over 40 years, this is truly one of the best. I have straight, thin Asian lashes that have a tough time holding a curl. Although this doesn’t really curl my lashes, after using a eyelash curler (Shiseido), dusting my eyelashes with a bit of finishing powder, and then applying this Kill Lash 02 mascara, my lashes stay curled ALL DAY, even in humid weather, whereas other mascaras would cause my eyelashes to droop or would smudge in less than an hour. It doesn’t flake, clump, run or smear even with my oily/combination skin, under eye creams, moisturizer, and dewy foundations, and using makeup setting spray. It has buildable volume so it’s great for thickening lashes, and but is average at lengthening lashes. That being said, since it’s waterproof and smear proof, it can be difficult to remove, but I strongly recommend Clinique Take the Day Off micellar make up remover to make removal super easy, gentle, and clean yet moisturized. (Other micellar formulas or wipes like Neutrogena, Maybelline, and Garnier failed to remove this mascara completely without a ridiculous amount of soaking and rubbing, so steer clear of those!). This picture shows the mascara applied to my top lashes only, after 10 hours wearing it and walking outside quite a bit during a humid Waikiki vacation, but I have used it on the bottom lashes as well without any issues with smearing or running.

I absolutely love this mascara. I have very short, straight lashes and it gives them so much length and volume without clumpiness. It’s not going to work miracles; you won’t look like you’re wearing falsies, but it’s a great formula. It has great lasting power and doesn’t smudge around my eyes at the end of the day. I’ve forgotten I was wearing it and rubbed my eye before, and no smudging! That said, because it has great staying power, it’s also difficult to remove. Bioderma and a cotton pad aren’t going to cut it, you need a cleansing balm or oil cleanser.

I wanted to give it some time before I left a review. I’m going on a month and a half of use now. And I will say I would buy this mascara over and over again! This exact product! Coming from someone who uses and buys Lancôme’s Hypnose Drama WP mascara for years and years. This is the best change I’ve made! I’ve tried every WP mascara under the sun, and this is even better than my tried and true Lancôme mascaras. It holds a curl and my lashes look beautiful! Almost effortless. Also if you get the remover that’s paired with it, the mascara glides off pretty nicely, but you can also just buy a makeup remover to do that. However, the wand for the remover is much more precise and gentler on your lashes when you remove this WP mascara. Overall, I will continue to buy this as long as they don’t mess with the formula and my lashes hold that curl!

I tried this mascara on a whim when it was on sale. Things I really like about it: does not flake throughout the day, achieves a pretty natural look, keeps the lashes separate, the applicator is bristled, not silicone. Con: It can be kind of difficult to wash off; however, unlike most mascaras, this doesn't damage your lashes. In fact, my eyelashes may be healthier! Despite the difficulty in removing it, it's not irritating to the eye or anything. I really like this brand and will continue to use it. My teenage daughters (who spend way more on their makeup) really like this and keep stealing it from me.

I have stick straight, very average looking natural lashes. I've relied on an eyelash curler for curling both before and after mascara application to keep my lashes remotely upright throughout the day, but most of the time my efforts have been in vain. In all my 25 years of wearing mascara nothing has ever been able to do for my lashes what this mascara does in terms of lifting and curling. I'm so glad one finally exists that gets the job done and makes it no longer necessary for me to curl my eyelashes twice ( Beware: I tried that once with this mascara out of sheer habit and my lashes completely stuck to the curler and would not release. I had to very slowly and gently wiggle the curler away from my lashes and this took a while. Thankfully they weren't damaged but I could have very easily ripped them out had I not been so careful. Take my word for it, DO NOT curl your lashes again after the first coat is applied. Trust me, it is not necessary and you will regret it). I always use two mascaras. One for lengthening and one for volume (my combination before this was Roller Lash and Lash Princess). My newest and favorite combo is Kill Lash and Tarte Gifted. I apply Kill Lash first immediately after curling and voila! With a single coat my eyelashes are sky high. It is something like magic! I then apply a coat of Tarte Gifted for volume and I can't tell you how amazing my lashes look. The main takeaway in this review however is that Kill Lash is the ultimate, end all be all of lifting mascaras. There is nothing else like it. It does great things for lengthening as well, but doesn't do much in the volume department in spite of its claims to. Of course, there is a trade-off for the fantastic results, which is that it is truly and utterly "Super Proof." I'm not sure if it's Waterproof technically, but it must be given the fact that this stuff does not, DOES NOT budge. It's almost everything resistant. Believe the reviews on this. Waterproof mascaras are a breeze to remove compared to this. It's like the most strong hold Hairspray for your eyelashes you could imagine. It makes the lashes feel hard (gives no flexibility) and definitely feels like it could be drying for this reason. As long as I don't sleep in it and take care of my lashes any potential for damaging them is minimal, if not nonexistent for me. I apply castor oil to my lashes every night regardless of which mascara I use, so for me it's not a real concern. It does come off with the right product and a bit of patience. The best product for removal is a cleansing balm like the one from Good Molecules. If you don't have an emollient eye makeup remover on deck before applying this mascara, I suggest you get one because you will find yourself very frustrated trying to take it off if you don't. Do yourself a favor and have a remover on hand before you use this mascara! Not deducting a star for being hard to remove because that is a unique aspect of the formula that helps it to function the way that it does. If it were easier to remove it wouldn't have the same holding power. Please never change it!

Edit Update: Still the best staying power in town, and I'm loving the new Red Curling style, similar to the Volume Curling in performance, but the bent brush makes it even easier to apply! I have now tried the remover as well, and while it works, you still need another remover to get your eyes clean. I have used both the Volume Curling and the Extreme Volume for over a year now, and nothing, I mean NOTHING beats the smudge proof on these babies. I have cried, sweated my butt off, and worked a 16 hr hospital shift in these puppies! No smudge. Not one! Highly recommend them for people looking for longwear, but don't mind not having the fluffiest or longest lashes in town. Between the two types, I personally prefer the curling, as I find the thinner brush easier to work with, but they both perform well for their intended lash style. Neither is the most extreme volume or length I've seen, but both formulas are in among the top mascaras in my book. Add in the smuge-free factor, and Clio Kill Lash takes my top spot as an everyday, extremely wearable mascara. However, there are two minor caveats with these mascaras: First, they take time to dry, and will smudge in the first few minutes of application. So, let them dry down before sprays or whatever. Second, they're difficult to remove. Makes sense given their incredible staying power, but I've found many removers and wipes barely make a dent in them. You need a powerful oil and water hybrid base remover if you want them gone*. (My fav: Skinfood Milkshake remover) *I do see that Clio makes a remover for them, but I have yet to try.

I didn't even know I had eyelashes before I used this mascara. I am light skinned Asian and have short, straight sparse lashes that point down. I've tried SO MANY mascaras with varying degrees of un-success because so many of them weighed down the curled lashes and just un-curled them. This Clio mascara however holds curl so much better than most of my other ones, I used one coat and it gave me length I've never seen before on my natural lashes. The wand is thin unlike most other western brand mascaras so you can really go into the roots with them! Also very good for bottom lashes because it's so extremely waterproof that it literally doesn't smudge at all :) The only thing is because it's so waterproof, that make sure you have an oil-based waterproof eye makeup remover :) I didn't, and it took me a long time with micellar water to remove. Overall 9.9/10 would def repurchase

I was influenced the right way by my favourite makeup influencer after seeing this is the only mascara she uses… and I was not disappointed. My new favourite mascara and I’ve been recommending to everyone!
