Best water fountain for my cats. The filter is just a plus

This little fountain works very well. The cat likes it as much as she will anything to drink out of. She obviously considers it her possession rubbing herself on it and using it although sparingly. The latter I think is because she gets a lot of liquid from other sources be it her food or tuna water treats. But, when she is thirsty, she does use the fountain. As for the human responsibilities in all this they are easy to deal with. The fountain comes apart easily for cleaning, cleans up easily and has an excellent filtration system. That large filter is great and lasts for quite a while without getting stinky or nasty in any way. The water stays clean so I am not worried about harming my furry critter. All in all I am well satisfied with this water fountain. My old one was really a nice unit. It lasted nearly forever with a couple of replacement pumps. But, keeping the thing clean was a battle. It had to be placed in the dishwasher to even start getting it satisfactorily clean. But, even with that, our hard water caused havoc with the thing. Sooo, I will stick with this newer, cheaper, easier fountain Thanks Catit.

Updated: My cat fountain just needed a good vinegar bath, including running the motor for 20 minutes in vinegar. It was just a coincidence that the slime started at the same time as my new box of filters. Everything is working well now. **Something is wrong with this box. The fountain gets covered in slime. It is slimey every time I clean it, no matter the age of the filter from this box. The filter itself gets white and foamy. I have had this fountain for several years and have never had this problem before.

I have two of the cat fountains that use these filters. My cats love the fountains. I like being able to buy the filters in bulk, it’s more economical. The water filters through them easily. They’re easy to replace. If there is any drawback, it’s that you can’t clean them, so you keep having to buy them. Aside from that, they’re a good buy, and fit like OEM parts should.

Unless you are disturbed by the quiet babble of water, this isn't a noise issue. It does make more noise when it's running low, so I use that as a way to judge if I have to add more water sooner than usual. Two of our three cats approve, as stated, and have swapped over to using the fountain instead of the bowl they used to have. Our arthritic old lady refuses to switch, so we still use two sources of water. Probably best, anyway - more water sources for pets is a good thing. Has three different options for the riser above the pump: you can have the water just bubble up out of the funnel, which creates a kind of low-movement surface. Or you can use the white insert riser, which gives a more focused water column about 1-2" wide. This is what our guys prefer. Or you can insert the yellow cap to interrupt the focused water column and send it streaming out each side down to the filter, for cats who prefer a kind of stream experience. Nice height for cats, helps those with achy necks , bowl is wide enough to avoid "whisker fatigue" while drinking. Well designed for ease of not just cleaning but sterilizing - you can get into each nook and cranny without hard work or special tools. The only part not easily cleaned is the inside of the pump, but if you're using the filters and changing as often as you should (monthly or more often, if slime mold forms), it doesn't seem to collect anything noxious. Filters are stupidly expensive and single-use. Anyone who's ever had a fish tank understands how to get around this. Four segments, two containing a packet of zeolites, two containing activated charcoal. I look forward to CatIt offering a reusable filter set up. My only quibble is that the USB cord is way too short for where it needed to go in our kitchen (a plug above the counter, with the fountain on the floor.) I'd replace it but it's built into the pump. You want water appliances somewhere with a floor designed to drain properly and, generally, those places are designed with electric outlets at least 4' above the floor. If you do use this with an extension cord or something, *please* make certain it includes a "drip loop" that prevents water from dripping back from the fountain towards the outlet along the cord.

Devant le déluge de commentaires négatifs sur les nouveaux filtres Catit dépourvus de base en plastique (pour des raisons écologiques), je souhaitais rester sur les filtres d'avant pour la fontaine Catit flower 3l verte. Sur plusieurs sites les anciens filtres ne sont plus commercialisés, et heureusement sur Amazon c'est toujours le cas. Il va sans dire que le paquet de 12 filtres est de plus assez économique (cela revient à 2,50€ le filtre pour 1 mois), donc je n'ai pas hésité. Je suis tranquille pour 1 année, et le paquet est assez petit (genre boîte à chaussures) et très léger. Je me demande même si je ne vais pas en recommander pour stocker, au cas où ces filtres viendraient à disparaître. À moins que Catit améliore la nouvelle version écologique, en y ajoutant une base plastique réutilisable par exemple, afin de combler les inconvénients que j'ai pu lire dans les commentaires négatifs.
