Not long. the sword is mostly foam and meant for decoration and practicing moves. I would be surprised if it lasted more than an hour

How much does it flop side to side?

Surprisingly...not at all. I got it for my 6 year old thinking we would throw it away in a week or two. Has not been damaged at all in a couple of months of use.

Would it stand up to adults sparring with it?

It would not hold up to adult sparing. It looks great though.
