5 estrellas para Alexa
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Me encanta. Alexa aprendió bien el español. Escucha bien y contesta claro. No he tenido ningún problema con ella.

Almost Excellent. So Close.
I never had any interest in a "smart speaker". However, I got some Amazon Prime credits specifically for Prime-only products, and we'll... I took the bait and ordered this Echo Dot. I figured it'd be great for my kitchen, so I don't have to keep bringing my other bluetooth speaker downstairs when I wanna enjoy good audio while cooking/eating.When I got it, the included User Guide made it seem like this device CANNOT be used as a regular Bluetooth speaker. So I boxed it back up and prepared to return it for credit. On a whim, I looked online to see if anyone had "hacked" the Echo Dot... Then I found OTHER instructions, clear instructions, on pairing the Echo Dot with a smartphone via Bluetooth. That's really what saved the whole experience, for me. I've been happily using this speaker, and yes occasionally I'll use the Alexa features. Even though that was not my MAIN purpose for the purchase, it was good to see/learn that Consumer-Market AI and Voice Recognition have really come a long way!I withheld 1 star from this review, because - for some dang unfathomable reason - the speaker comes with a proprietary power cord and jack, instead of a standard micro- or mini-USB jack. This means I had to dedicate one entire power outlet to the speaker, instead of just using one of my multiple USB chargers and cables I already had. Also the speaker is not rechargeable, which means it has to STAY plugged in, which adds to the aforementioned "cable clutter".Another reason for the loss of 1 star, is that the speaker doesn't come with any way to MOUNT it anywhere. What is Amazon thinking, that ALL their customers have all the counter space in the world? So I had to super-glue that dumb*tch to my cabinet, as you see in the picture.I feel like they dropped the ball with those 2 issues... this little speaker could have been even MORE amazing than it is now. That being said, it's a good value, especially if you can get it at a discount, and if you're curious about Alexa and the Amazon ecosystem.

Great
I went ahead and snatched this up while it was still on sale and I'm glad I did! I love my Alexa. I don't know if the rating for the voice recognition is supposed to be 5 stars if it recognizes your voice specifically or if it recognizes voices in general because mine will listen to any voice🤷🏿♀️. It's not as loud as I thought it would be but it's still has great sound quality with nice base. I also had trouble trying to connect my phone because I did not want it to have Wi-Fi I just wanted to use it as a Bluetooth and that was a problem I had to wait until I was at my sister's house to connect it because she has wi-fi and I don't I didn't like that. I feel like I should have been able to connect Bluetooth a lot easier without using Wi-Fi and all that extra jazz but over all it's a good great speaker and I love it.

Annoying over time, getting worse on marketing
Kinda ticked about Amazon, just recently purchased this with deal on Amazon Music which I don't use. While in process of order and delivery the fourth generation announced release and availability.Pretty much BS in my opinion.Anyways an upgrade from 2nd Gen device.Better sound quality. I already have another with clock and I like that.Overall that is main difference; sound quality and feature for a clock display version that I notice. Then 4th Gen even better on sound from other reviews I have read.Been using dots for several years plus but there is agitation. This isn't devices specifically but the two I have voice recognition is getting more difficult for a response. I have to raise voice for it to respond right next to them and no ambient or background noise interference.More so, Alexa is getting worse in telling me things to try and other information I didn't inquire about. I then have to tell at her to shut up and maybe she will. Or for some reason she randomly tells me something. Other day she without inquiry told me the weather in Paris, France!!! I just told her to turn on the lights, she complied and told me the weather in Paris as well when I am in United States.WHAT??? WHY???Also, Amazon themselves adding features and by default they are turned on. Recently I think called Sidewalk. Yeah, not!!!I don't want WiFi accessible to others regardless how secure they say it is. It shares network with other devices to encompass neighborhood coverage in their theory. Nope, I don't want neighbors accessible with their devices on my network for expanded coverage of devices. Maybe their devices secure but what is connected in other smart devices not so.With certain aspects of network sharing concern, voice recognition and waking up, costs, a few others things I am considering to looking into different devices from another company. Too much chatter from Alexa as well. I don't care from her to know with her persistently saying "By the way...." and rambles on about things I am not interested in. Telling me about things I ordered and possibly recurring deliveries for products. I ordered Gorilla Glue bottle, stuff lasts months to a few years. She suggests I have monthly recurring order of it!!It is sales pitch and marketing and getting annoyed by this. Cannot adjust settings to completely shut this off either. And I do not care for the weather in Paris or anywhere else randomly or what else she chatters about. Shut Up Alexa is what is said a lot around house because of this. Wasn't so a few years ago but it is now and getting worse. She just won't shut up at times and I tried with settings, no. She is a chatter box anymore.
