They are accurate the only thing is I have glass shelves and they can’t hang up by the shelf. If someone knows how the come up with an idea to hang them up especially in the freezer I’d like to hear from you And yes I’d buy these again

After buying our first two pieces of this thermometer for the refrigerator in our RV, I bought two more for my father-in-law, and another two for use in our home. By carefully adjusting our refrigerator down to a temperature closer to 32°F, we've been able to extend the life of several kinds of food in our refrigerator. There's a big difference between 45°F (i.e. just barely cold enough), and 35°F. Now my milk stays good much longer. They're also good in our two freezers, just as a "peace of mind" indicator. When you open the door of your deep-freeze, you know that everything is frozen, but just HOW frozen is it? We saved hundreds of dollars worth of food that was in the upright freezer in our garage when I opened the door and saw that the thermometer read 36°F. Nothing had had really defrosted yet, but I figured out that the freezer door had been popped open slightly by the oversized item I had put in the freezer the day before. Worth every penny!

This package contains two thermometers which operate in a range of temperatures (ambient temps and refrigerator temps). They run on batteries that should last for several months. The numbers are large and easy to read and can be either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The only downside I experienced was that the thermometers often fell over when the door to the refrigerator was opened. There is a "hook" for dangling from a wire rack shelf but my refrigerator has solid glass shelves so the hook was useless.

I didn't buy these for a fridge but for my Outback. I clipped one of these to the pet barrier so I could monitor the temperature inside when the three critters are in the back. These work really well. I compared the temperature displayed on this unit with a large thermometer that cost a hell of a lot more and they were consistently within one degree over a fairly wide range. The only thing I would like is for the display to have an automatic shut-off. If you turn the display on it will stay on until you physically press the button on the back to turn it off. Staying on will drain the battery over time. I put the other one above the work bench in my garage.

I never got a chance to try out these refrigerator thermometers since I couldn't load the batteries. I tried every way to open the battery cover. I used coins (penny, quarter, dime, and nickel) and a screw driver. I could not get them open.

I ordered 2 and liked them so much I ordered 2 more. I have two side-by-sides and put one in each. There is a small problem in that new style refrigerators come with fixed glass shelves. So you have to stand them up. They stand, but not very well. The slightest jilt, like closing the door, causes them to fall over, even with the kickstand deployed. The kickstand locks a few mm away from upright. Also, the ones in the freezers stop working quickly. How quickly? I don't know. I do know that one did restart after warming up for a while. The other didn't and needed to have the battery replaced. (The battery size is the same as that for my car fob.) So it does seem to be a battery issue of some sort in the extreme cold. On the good side, in the older refrigerator, I can hook it on the wire shelf. It takes up little space, is out of the way, is easy to read and just looks so much better than the older coil thermometer versions. It seems to be accurate. So I would definitely buy this for an older style refrigerator. Sadly, will have to go back to the old tried and true coil version for everything else.
