how does it plug into a wall outlet in the home?

The big black thing is a 110v adapter that plugs into the wall. The cooler plugs into the round piece.

This Adapter is 5 Amps, and some people find it gets hot. I see there are some Adapters that are 10 Amps. Can I use one of these 10 Amp Adapters?

Yes, if a power supply unit can supply 10 amps it will handle a load (like the cooler) that only needs 5 amps easily. It too may warm up under a load, but I don't think they should be getting so hot that there's concerns of the plastic melting or such.

COuld this be used for a sirius radio, specs 9-16 V DC 500mA (max) audio output 1.0 Vrms (max)

I don't know. I don't think I would try it with a sirius radio until I checked the radio specs. It is putting out 12 VDC, but I still wouldn't take the chance.

wiil this work with koolmate 40

Yes, it works for the 40 that I own. However, my original one got very hot and did not last very long. The new one also gets hot. These coolers have no thermostat so they never shut off and the adaptor continues to get hot.
