No, it does have a menthol smell and may have some in it but it has eucalyptus in it and also has the MSN which is beneficial. This stuff works, great product.

Q: What's the difference, other than the obvious, between the cold and the hot products in terms of relief?

This product is only cold, not hot. Also out of all the products out there that I have tried which is several, it is the only one that does not leave a residue on your skin or clothing.
