Can we use this on babies before 3 months of age?

My son is 13 pounds and I started with the suit a week ago at 9 weeks. It has been a miracle. He was constantly waking himself with the startle reflex and would cry as soon as I set him down. He sleeps 3-4 hour stretches which is a huge improvement.

Is this suit not a SIDS risk with over bundling? It looks like a snow suit, very thick and heavy.

It is indeed thick which is what helps keep them feeling snug similar to the swaddling effect. I've found that dressing my daughter in just a short-sleeve onesie and no socks and keeping the temp of the room btwn 69-70 degrees all winter has worked well and she doesn't get overheated. Heat escapes through the hand and feet openings, plus her neck is still exposed for ventilation. In fact, on very cold nights I added socks while she slept when her feet seemed too cold and was grateful she was cozy in the suit. We started her in the suit at 4 months old - she's now 6 months and has slept comfortably in it every single night!

How old does the baby have to be to use Merlin's magic sleep suit?

We bought a size large and started using it with our baby when he was 4 months old/17 pounds. It fit well, still fits now at 6 months old.

I received mine and it was not in the manufacturing box. Does this mean it was pre-owner?
