Perfect for hanging string lights. I made homemade poles that are sturdy. Used the wires to hang the lights and couldn't be happier with this product! The wire is pretty thick but easy to cut with wire cutters. This was the best value out there and they provided all the tools you need to hang the lights! The wire length is the perfect size to hang multiple sets even in a big backyard!

I bought this kit to re-hang my outdoor patio lights after having to cut down a large tree. I had to re-string the lights between the house and detached garage and back to the house. This kit came with everything I needed for the job (and more). Plenty of cable, carabiners, turnbuckles, zip ties and clamps. It even came with a small socket wrench needed for the clamps. Installation was super easy. I was really impressed with the quality of all of the hardware. I live in Minnesota and can tell I won't have to worry about the elements wearing it down. This stuff will last. You also can't beat the price. I had a neighbor complete a similar lighting project and he spent 5 times more buying all of these items separately from the local hardware store. Affordable and convenient. Highly recommended!

Perfect kit with lots of options for various hanging needs. The guide wire is great for long distance between points of hanging keeping the lights from sagging.

Did what we needed

This set was recommended by Amazon when I purchased a set of hanging lights. I was initially reluctant, figuring I could use wire or rope or whatever, but I am very glad I went for this small extra expense. It allowed me to install the lights professionally - with all the tools required to safely and securely run a high tensile coated wire attached properly at both ends. Plus it included zip-ties to attached the lights. The perfect addition to the lights.

This kit has everything you need. I did add a thimble to protect the wire loop from wear and some big eye hooks in the tree to give some space between the wire and tree. Otherwise you can complete your project with what is in the box. Note: all my end points were able to be attached to the house. You may have to adjust if you are using a post or connecting to something else, e.g., a tree.Some hints for a smoother installation:1) Layout your lights first to see where the end points land depending on your situation. We were using a tree as a mid point and to change directions.2) First, I installed a hump handle at the end closest to the outlet, created the loop in the wire with rope clamp then connected the two with a snap hook.3) trail the wire along the path your laid out with the lights then install the components for the other end. Install the hump handle first then create a loop with the turnbuckle (fully extended) connected through the loop but do not fully tighten the rope clamp.4) Pulling the wire tighter, adjust your loop so you can attach the turnbuckle hook to the hump handle. Once you get the wire slack out, tighten the rope clamp.5) adjust the turnbuckle to take out all the slack. This is done by just turning the inside part which will pull the two screwed ends in. Get it fairly tight so your lights will not snag.6) Starting on the end with the plug, use the zip ties to attach your lights. I used two ties on each side of a light (do not use the loop hole on the light). This will make for a tighter, more secure connection to the wire. Keep attaching until your get to your last one. (you can hang the lights loosely on the wire to help keep the lights up while attaching)Other notes: I did two 48 foot runs and still have more connectors/wire to do more if needed. I also added a smart outlet to the plug so the lights come on automatically. Lastly, the end points in my layout did not quite meet but a simple DIY extension cord got them connected so they all turn on at once.

This wire system worked out so well for us while hanging our outdoor string lights. The brackets were easy to install and hold the wire well. I would recommend this product.
