🎶 Unlock the golden age of Strat tone—your guitar’s new vintage heartbeat!
The Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Strat pickups are hand-wound in Santa Barbara using Alnico 5 magnets and Formvar wire to recreate the iconic bright, glassy bell tone of 1950s Stratocasters. Featuring a 6.5 kOhm DC resistance and a noise-canceling RWRP design, these pickups deliver crisp treble attack, focused lows, and clear string separation with minimal hum. Suitable for all Strat positions, they combine vintage authenticity with modern reliability and craftsmanship.

Clear, brilliant tone with minimal hum
6 years ago I bought as used Mexican Strat. The hum coming off those pickups was ridiculous regardless of gain. I got sick of it quickly and put in a competitor's set of noiseless pickups which I've enjoyed for several years. Two years ago I bought a gutted Epiphone Les Paul for 30 bucks, and put the Jazz/JB combo in it during the build and was floored at the tone quality. So much so that I swapped the Telecaster vintage set into my Tele. Floored once more... and it was dead silent. The hum was actually there, but you had to stack every overdrive I had and boost the front end of my Marshall to hear it. So that's the backstory leading up to the SSL-1s. I was on the fence because I did not want the crazy hum level to come back. I took the plunge on a set of SSL-1 neck, SSL-1 middle, SSL-5 bridge. I got them installed last night and they're simply amazing. Neck and middle are clear as a bell, in-between tones are brilliant. And most of all, the hum is totally minimal. It is indeed there, but it's night and day better than the stock Mexican pickups from years ago. Very, very tolerable and the tones are just brilliant.

An awesome vintage-style Strat pickup
This pickup has terrific late 50's, early 60's tones. It's reverse engineered from the same model pickup used to create the Fender 57/62, so it sounds very similar. You really have to listen to them back-to-back to hear the difference, but this pickup is just a little fuller, with a little more low mid in the sound. I have one in both the neck and middle position. The neck is nice and thick, almost syrupy on the right amp setting. The mid has just a little bit of a jangle to it. I haven't tried this pickup in the bridge position, so I have no report on that. Be aware, the magnet polarity on Duncan pickups is reversed from Fender pickups. If you're using both Duncan and Fender pickups in the same guitar, make sure you read the installation instructions carefully to avoid phase problems.

Wonderful pickup!
This pickup makes my Nashville Tele quack like a duck on the notch positions. Tele pickups are Fender 52 Tele. You can’t go wrong with this pickup in a telecaster or Stratocaster. Highly Recommend!

Excellent pickups
I order two of these SD single coils and SD humbucker and they sound great, clear and very responsive on my Stratocaster.

Might Be The Best
After years of playing single-coil sized humbuckers I'm happy to say I'm over that phase because of this pickup. It is incredible in its organic and round sound that handles high gain great. I've put this one in the neck and a SSL-5 in the bridge, which is also an excellent single-coil but with a humbucker quality that doesn't lose the strat sound in the least.

Amazing singlecoils!
Installed these into a stock guitar I had been customizing over the years and the pickups elevate its sound to where it sounds almost close to a Fender! Good clean sound, and GREAT slight-distorted quality!! The best thing I could've ever done to my guitar.
