Definitely heavy duty, which is exactly what I was hoping for! I was looking for badge holders with sturdy clips since I rarely wear pants that require a belt, and these stick to my waistbands really well to the point where it's difficult to get them off lol. Haven't had a problem with the retraction either. I keep my car keys, my work keys, and my badge on it. No issues. Great product.

FOUR YEAR UPDATE! I bought the 2 pack of these. They are built extremely well. After 4 years the first one finally broke and I changed over to the 2nd one. The first thing to brake was the carabiner so I just used the belt clip. Then the plastic part that holds the ID badge broke and I just replaced it. No biggie. Otherwise the way the line is built very well. I would notice it start to thin out and ware out well before it would ever snap and just tie a knot in the line to prevent it from snapping. Finally I retired because the line was so short from doing this so much. If I wanted to, I could repair it and replace the line but I have a second so I did not. The metal case is very nice and the internals are all built well. Others I have bought just explode after 6-12 months. Or the line would snap and there would be no way to open it up and fix it. This is the next hip bade holder you can get.

It’s very very high quality though a bit heavy if you’re only needing something for ID. This holds tools, my glasses, magnifying glass. Excellent for more heavy duty or durable for long time use. Gifted were for each a durable badge clear case, matching jump rings and more! Honestly you don’t see great workmanship like this very often anymore. Definitely recommend 😊

The retractable part was really strong and reliable for me. I've had it for a year while using it 2-3 times a week and the coil finally wore out and I couldn't fix it. Wish it would have lasted me longer, but not bad all things considered.

Great quality badge holders! The metal build feels sturdy and durable, and the retractable cord is smooth and strong. They hold my ID securely and clip easily to my belt or pocket. Getting two in a pack is a great value. Definitely recommend if you need a reliable badge holder for work.

Initial review, these are sturdy, and the spring is strong. I forgot it on while riding a motorcycle home, stayed retracted entire time.

Good quality

When they said Heavy Duty, they MEANT it! This will handle a 5lbs badge. Or a brick. The torque is enough to pull the clip off your shirt when you go to swipe it. The industrial nature of this winder also means it has significant mass itself, so be prepared for it to stretch your clothes out, unless you're wearing it on a leather belt. The clip also seems to have extra pinch to it to help hold on when the winder is used, and thus is extra hard to get ones collar through. Honestly, I'd have liked it with a little LESS torque, maybe a few more inches of reach, and a bit less pinch in the clip and also less mass. I do like the reinforced badge strap though, which seems like it should last significantly longer than non-reinforced straps, and has enough length to pass three (or more) badges, plus a dosimeter clip through, and still have room for more. The leash itself, although thicker than most, is probably the weakest link in this item, and again, a little shorter than I'd like it to be.
