Was skeptical considering the sale price, DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! Seriously good deal.
Edit: Even at the normal price, I've bought a few 5lb bags of this roast and never had a bad one. Taste: Really good! Pretty bold, but not overpowering or bitter at all! It's got a really nice flavor to it for a medium roast. This is coming from someone who's picky, and only ever bought expensive Trader Joe's O.F.T. coffee for the last few years. This coffee really isn't bitter at all (relative to most other coffees) if you brew it correctly! Tip if yours is extra bitter: With a typical multi-shot household espresso machine, you seriously need to add milk/half & half to it ASAP. I actually add half & half to the pot and froth it (sometimes steam it too) before hand, so the coffee immediately pours into it. Otherwise leaving it for long will tend to "kill it", plus the hot steam blowing on it and the excess water poured thru it doesn't help either. This makes the coffee extra bitter & kinda burnt, however it will give it a slightly smoky taste on top of that, if you like that kind of thing. Source: two older sisters who had been baristas for extended periods of time taught me this trick. I can say from years of doing this, and then inevitably forgetting the cream sometimes, that the difference in taste is night and day! You should try it. Got a killer deal on a 5lb bag of this stuff. I was kinda skeptical about the freshness of the coffee considering the price, but I was wrong. It smells and tastes really fresh, and is very slightly oily. The oil level doesn't always correspond to freshness so don't assume dry coffee is old. I bought a bag of the "dark knight" blend from this brand about a month ago and that had great results. The best-by dates on either bags coincide w/ the purchase dates, so that tells me this probably wasn't sitting in a warehouse for a while like I suspected. I do actually prefer this over the Dark Knight blend though, especially for espresso. Would recommend! Definitely worth the current $25 sale price!

Excellent
I have been trying a number of different espresso whole bean brands. Most have been organic. I have decided that the flavor and the roast of the Drago is what I have needed. It has a good strong flavor that is great in my lattes. It is the right roast for my machine as well. It has a full flavor that is not bitter or too weak. I have a Breville semi-automatic machine and have tried it another like DeLonghi machine. My machine has a grinding mechanism that can be set to grind size, etc. A few different coffees worked well and tasted good, but I like the Drago the best. One of the other coffees that I tried was very very oily which jammed up both machines for some time. I ran a whole hopper full of Drago through it before it went back to working as it had. The Drago has some oil present but not a lot so it automatically grinds and fills the unit well. If I had been grinding in a separate grinder this likely would not have mattered. Since I make at least two lattes a day for my wife and I, it is important to not only a great tasting coffee but one that works well with the machine.

Always fresh for a great value
Fresh roasted coffee is probably my favorite coffee for the money. I have ordered various kinds and all of them taste smooth and full of flavor. I just wish they still had the Wicked Owl roast which is my favorite coffee of all time...

Drago Is Savory Silky Espresso, milk Chocolate taste! This is Some Awesome Espresso whole beans!!!
This is one of my ❤️ Favorite coffee beans from Fresh roasted coffee company, Drago-Espresso roasted whole beans, this coffee hits you like a smooth coffee espresso almost silky but more on the hybrid chocolate side of the flavors, they really swirl your tongue into a coffee joyride and it’s Awesomely Delicious, I also like to buy the k-cups Drago but the whole beans are where all the savory ness is unlocked, people think that grinding fresh coffee takes extra time but I think it’s worth it because the whole flavors of the beans are unleashed, this is on my Top of the My List Coffee I wish I could own the farm, the only other coffee that compares to this would be Lavazza’s Perfetto espresso Italian roast, that’s when you’ve got some real competition for savory Espresso comparison!

I will be here for a long time
I've been looking for a good coffee. That when the coffee runs low, I can go and re-order. So I buy a small bag of several brands. A new one, each time. For the last year, maybe two. Now that I am happy, I can order by the 5 pound and save a little $$. When you make cold brew, beans go fast (1 cup coffee per brew). I had to quit buying Colombian coffee. As the oily-ness of it was messing with my digestive. And nothing I ever found would match the richness taste of the Columbian coffee I was seeking to replace. And getting a "darker" roast was not something I wanted to do. This one is "way rich", and also "way medium roast". Better than Columbian coffee could ever dream to be. 5 stars.

Ruined product
It arrived opened on both sides of the coffee bag. I order this coffee monthly but disappointed in this order. It says it can’t be returned because it’s food but I am now out over fifty dollars because I don’t feel comfortable using these beans when the package is open like this. Not sure if I will order again.

Don’t get that second bag
I won’t be ordering these again. I experienced what most people experienced. You order your first bag and it’s a nice organic bean. It’s not oily and it had a date on the bag. Then my second bag came on auto ship. There’s no date and they were the most oily beans I’ve ever bought. I had to take my grinder apart to clean it after using the second bag. I gave two starts because the shot itself was still pretty decent.
