Q: My hair is kind of thick, will this be a good product to hold a faux-hawk?

I have thick and lustrous hair as well. Though I don't style it in a faux-hawk, it does make it do pretty much anything you want. I'd say 'yes.'

Q: is there any really difference between hair paste and fiber.

I don't know what "fiber" is. This is a good product. This small jar will last quite a long time. If you wish to follow up to explain "fiber" I'll be glad to comment again.

This product has a lighter consistency and more easily applied and washed out.

Q: Would this control stray beard hairs?

I've not used it for a beard, but it has a quite strong hold and a matte finish.
