The Indispensable Book of Practical Life Skills

My daughter had been given this book by her sister. I read it while in Ireland and it enjoyed it so much that I wanted my own copy. It was very informative on many subjects and offer very practical advise on them and how to gain skills.

Some really useful skills. Not completely comprehensive but it contains quite a bit.

The book does have some good information, but I would like to make one observation though: Liberals and atheists blab their brains out about how Christians try to cram their beliefs down other people's throats. They say this as though they (the libs and atheists) are nuetral. But in this book of "life skills" they include the "indispensable" "skill" of rolling a joint. How about a better life skill in the place of dope smoking? How about the skill of repenting and believing. How about the skill of facing life with God's promises instead of doping your mind with pot? I think that my suggestion would be a lot more helpful to people in their life than the stupid, assinine, worthless, ability to roll a joint. That's just one Christian man's opinion.

This book would be a good gift for a child or a teenager looking to expand their minds but the information is very standard stuff for an adult. I use it for a coffee coaster!

This is my favorite book to give as a high school or college graduation present. It is a well-written, thoughtful, useful guide to so many of life's challenges. Divided into four sections (i.e., Home & Yard, Health & Beauty, Travel & Sports, Accident and Emergency), this will be the book that the young adults in your life turn to when they can't (or won't call you. This covers everything from how to clean an oven to how to change a flat tire. And I do mean everything! Some other topics are "how to unblock a sink," "how to build a fire," "how to make a cold frame," "how to tie a bow tie," how to hold a baby," "how to hook up jumper cables," "how to make a kite," "how to find the Southern Cross," how to perform CPR,".....well, you get the idea. It's a perfect resource and a fun read.

I would say that I only can use 5% max of the practical skills used in this book, but that is good enough for me. I wouldn't pay full price the book, but I purchased it used at Amazon and gain some knowledge from reading this book. I recommend reading it.
