Coaching girls 5-8, these balls were a perfect size and softness. Love them and will use them for years to come!

Balls are used for indoor batting practice.Soft cores and bright covers are a good safety feature in confined spaces.These are a good alternative to playing in the Northeast while spring is still a month away

Not the best for hitting balls to work on defense
They are definitely soft. Get a little softer after you hit them a few times. Not the best for hitting balls to work on defense. THEY BOUNCE. So unless you're practicing to play on astro turf, these may not work for you. Use them inside only on a hard flat surface. They are safer than a hard ball. First grounder we hit, took a big bounce a hit a girl in the neck. It surprised her a bit and hurt a little, but she stayed in there and didn't need ice and had no bruising.

Excellent for beginner players.
Excellent starter ball for beginners. I transitioned to these safety balls from the Jugs orange dimpled balls from the batting cage that I was using to play catch with my 6 year old daughter. Has an excellent weight to them and my daughter can hang onto them a lot better than the lighter dimpled balls.

Good training balls
These are softcover, and great practice balls. They will still hurt it it hits you, but it takes a little bit of the sting away. The only downside is it dampens the "crack of the bat" spund and the ball is more dead off the bat. Perfect for practicing pitching though! And we have left these outside for 5 months. They fade in the sun, but feel good as new. Even after being trained on for 2 seasons.
