Claire, Scandalous Girl by Claire Castel

For a film with a stated budget of $25,000 (as per IMDB), this is as good as any high-dollar blockbuster I've rented on Amazon this year. I won't summarize the plot, but the story is full of twists and turns that are reminiscent of mysteries or thrillers. Nonetheless, this movie doesn't really tread a familiar path -- it's something bold and refreshing. Throughout the running time of this movie, I was literally on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next "big reveal." The score was creepy, and there was definitely a slight "horror" vibe to much of the movie -- as the figurative specter of Claire, who was hit by a drunk driver, looms over every aspect of the story. This "presence" -- achieved through word of mouth, photographs, and video of the deceased girl -- reminded me of the fantastic Australian ghost story "Lake Mungo." But do not mistake Claire for a horror movie. Its chills and twists are grounded completely in reality.I was extremely impressed by the three "leads" of the film -- Jack (Aidan Bristow), Aiden (Cory Driscoll), and Ami (Avital Ash). These are three actors I'd like to see in many more movies, judging by the level of verisimilitude and gravity they brought to their roles here.All in all, this indie film is definitely worth a rental and deserves much more attention than it has received so far.

A very good story, emotionally evocative; although it initially paints a rather dismal picture of the scruples of most of the characters. It shows the terrible way teen age girls are treated and are raised to accept such treatment. The amazing thing about this film was that it had an anemic budget of $25,000.00. Yet, through the passion and talent of the writer/director, cast and crew the film looks like the budget was many times larger. I recommend this film, particularly for teenagers and young adults.

Great little indie film! Solid acting and a nice story make this an enjoyable watch. Cool score too that is available on Amazon!Claire Theme
