Ideal device for the hobbyist Superb Support
The saw works very well for cutting brass tubing and the materials listed in the description. It's easy to use and is a good value for the price. Its small size is ideal for the its purpose. I've only had it less than a week and cannot comment on durability. As cautioned in the description it is a hobbyist tool and not made for heavy duty production. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the saw blade has loosened several times during operation. I've had to stop work and tighten the screw that holds the blade. The last time the blade loosened I had great difficulty removing the screw and found that the screw threads (but not the female threads in the tool) were stripped. I used the tool only to cut thin brass tubing of 1/4" diameter and, thus, do not overload the tool. The screw is metric and I have metric dies and taps. I cleaned up the screw threads. I made another 30 cuts and the saw blade remained tight. I contacted Jounjip via email and they replied within half-an-hour with three remedies: 1. Apply a small drop of blue Loctite to the screw threads, 2. Make sure the blade washers are seated evenly, and 3. avoid over-tightening the screw. After further use I'll update this review. Overall I really like the cut-off saw and can recommend it.Update October 15, 2025:Since making adjustments 2 and 3 above recommended by Jounjip, I cut 50 pieces of brass tubing with no problems. The cuts were quick and accurate. I've changed my review to 5 stars. I assume that the saw blade was not correctly mounted when I received the saw new in the box.Update 10/21/25Superb customer service!! This morning, I received a new cut-off saw. Per my previous update I had โfixedโ the issues with the saw and was completely surprised to receive a new saw. If I could, I would give Jon of JOUNJIP 5+ stars. Highly recommend that if you are considering a mini-cut-off saw buy from JOUNJIP!

Thereโs nothing like having the right tool for the job!
I started my project using my 10โ miter saw trying to cut 45 degree angles on 1/4โ x 3/4โ wood. It would create a lot of noise and sawdust, chip the edges, and in general was tedious. This mini saw is great. I love that it has a brake that immediately stops the blade when the power is switched off. I had no trouble cutting 45 degrees across the 3/4โ width with the larger blade. I even cut soft wood that was 1/16โ wider by putting a thin shim under the stock. The cut is smooth with very little sawdust. Just set up a jig for repetitive lengths. It is not designed to cut hardwoods like oak, at least of any thickness. I am very happy with my purchase.

A must-have to frame stained glass
I love this tool! It cuts zinc came well. My only wish is that it would miter either to the right or left. However it is not difficult to figure out how to flip it for the opposite corner.

Works fine on Stainless.
A great tool. IF you have the need for it. In my case it was exactly what I needed (to chop stainless steel dental tool tips for repurposing). No more hacksaw. And yes, Stainless Steel. Its handling it just fine.

I love this little chopsaw. Itโs great for your wood projects. No need for giant chopsaw. The quality is great.

extreme care is required
As others have commented, this saw is dangerous. The on-off switch is completely separate from the handle that lowers the blade. If you are accustomed to using chop saws, you will be used to having the on-off switch integral with the handle. You let go of the handle, and the blade stops. When using this saw, you have to forget that habit. You switch it on, make the cut, raise the handle, and the blade keeps running, quite close to the material you have been cutting. Instinctively you reach for that material-- No. You have to remember to switch off the power BEFORE you reach for the material. You will be switching the saw on and off before and after every single cut (unless you have a reckless disposition). It would be unwise to give this to a young person. Also be sure to clamp the tool to a bench, using the supplied clamp. Trip over the power cord while this thing is running, and it will keep running while it cuts anything in its path. Severely.Aside from that--it is cheaply made but made clean cuts in thin dowel, which was what I wanted. The spare blade, abrasive discs, and spare drive belt are nice to have, but I wonder why I need the spare drive belt. Is the one pre-fitted to the product liable to fail? Time will tell.It is noisy; I think most of the noise comes from the toothed belt.I have a much better miniature saw, beautifully made in USA, but it cost almost $1,000. This one is more like a toy, for very small jobs.

Perfect little chop saw after a few customizations
I make miniature rollercoaster models (1:450 scale and smaller) and work with N scale model trains so I'm always looking for ways to get a clean cut on small pieces of wood and polystyrene. To that end I've purchased 3 different specialty tools that used razor blades as the cutter, each one left a slightly ragged edge and in many cases distorted the material so the 45 degree cuts weren't accurate. This little saw makes perfect cuts every time, and it's faster and easier to use than anything else I've tried. The instruction book is well written and complete, and the build quality is better than I expected for the price.I did make a few minor modifications so it works better for me. These include: set screw holding vise plate in place so it moves more freely. Cut down and added deeper knurling to the vise knobs. Removed the "safety" device. Built a base out of 1/2" plywood with storage space underneath, the base has neodymium magnets underneath so the saw stays in place on my metal bench.

Crap.
If it turned on, would do the job. But out of the box, wont start. Zero for one on this. Disappointed. Wont let me give it zero stars.

Amazing saw for stained glass work
I just received this chop saw and already love it. I use it to cut zinc framing for stained glass. I have a small studio - it is compact yet does an amazing job. The cut is so clean the zinc doesn't have burrs. If you find saws a bit frightening this one is very safe - the included vise firmly held it on my work table and the directions show you how to use it safely.I practiced with some scrap first to ensure I knew how to align the blade to the desired cut line .Truly one of the best purchases I've made in a long time!!

Saw performs well on light items
I have used the saw and while it did cut thin aluminum. It is not designed for that application. I spoke with Jonathon and he is going to change the description to better advise his customer of the saws capabilities. Jon is a stand up vendor and our discussion was educational for both. Thanks Jonathon you are a first class business.
