What I needed
Bought this so I could monitor the trailer I'll be towing. Tested this out this morning, 18 Aug, after it arrived. It looks like it will be perfect for what I need. Now to find some time to route the wiring, and do a permanent install. UPDATE: Installation is complete, 20 Aug. It took a while, but it's done. Hardest part was finding a suitable access point through the firewall that wasn't covered by sound dampening material. I used the 12V accessory adapter rather than connecting it into the backup lights. This supplies constant power to the monitor and camera. Installation in this configuration requires running the camera wire from the truck cabin through the firewall back to the camera. The night vision works well, and the picture came up with the correct orientation, so I didn't have to flip, or mirror the screen. Going to use the adhesive pad to mount the monitor to the dash, as I just have it sitting there right now. I will say even though it isn't attached using the adhesive pad, it is still pretty stable. Since the truck is lifted, the camera sits high enough it isn't obstructed by the coupler, or trailer tool box. Definitely worth it. SECOND UPDATE: Out driving today, 22 Aug, and turned it on for an operational road test. Yep, it's awesome. Very clear picture, and actually better resolution than the built in backup camera.

Good product and Great Support team
I purchased the eRapta backup camera for my older pickup truck primarily to be able to see my cargo trailer when backing up to connect. The price was great at about $35 USD and the camera was exactly what I wanted and needed; the picture quality is perfect and easy to see and the unit is waterproof. The unit was easy to install although you do have to get under vehicle to run the wires from the bumper to cabin. Trying to find an opening in the firewall is the hardest part. Or, if you only use it occasionally like I do, simply run wires thru the bed of truck each time to connect to lighter adapter for power. One downside for me is the dashboard adapter. They provided two which work good but has to be screwed onto the display each time. I just wish that they was a "quick connect/release" snap-in where you can easily remove the display each time to not leave on your dash. eRapta did provide plenty of wiring and the unit is exactly as it appears on the website. I connected my unit and it worked great and was fairly easy to navigate the screens. When I went back to use it the next time, the display was not working. I contacted support and they were second to none! They promptly responded and they asked me to check a few things. Without any reservation, they informed me that I probably had a defective unit. Not only did they replace the display but they sent me a total new replacement within about 5 days! And unlike so many support centers, this team communicated via email quickly and clearly and could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. My replacement works great. The color and brightness are very good and easy to see. I would definitely recommend this product and Brand to anyone. And hats off to the Support team!

eRapta knows best about RV cameras
These cameras are very useful with a narrower field of view in compare to the competition. They worked straight out of the box and customer service is also great. The negative reviews by others are not true as some simply don't know how to set up a simple configured device. Great quality and performance.

Works great - their prompt tech support was able to enable the undocumented mirroring capability
I have this installed just behind my front license plate so when I'm parking Prius I don't hit the front air dam. My car doesn't have parking sensors, and dismantling my multi-piece front bumper would have risked damage to very expensive parts. Front visibility from the driver's seat ends 2ft beyond the windshield due to the low profile hood, leaving me guessing where the front really is. The camera & monitor install were easy. The image quality is great. BUT - the image is backwards due to its rear facing intent. The description indicates a mirror function is available, but it's not available in the monitor setup features, nor is it described in the instruction manual. I asked eRapta what my options were (I'm thing refund since it's already installed) - they quickly replied that the feature is available and activated by cutting an exposed wire loop. Works perfectly! They really should decsribe this somewhere in their instructoins.

First lasted a season. Second one dead within a month. Third one dead a month after that.
Updated review: This should get no stars. The third of these outlasted the second only slightly. It managed four tows (two out and two back). Itโs apparently died within the last two days. These devices simply are not robust. The installations are good: soldered, waterproofed, wires kept tidy and shielded. Each time a camera has died Iโve only had to unplug the dead one, plug in the new one, waterproof the plug point, pair to the new screen, and they work. So this is not an electrical problem. This is a camera problem. The second one of these I bought lasted for just one half of a tow: one way. I now have to drive over 10 hours home with no rear view, and the return window is closed. Put another way, it lasted less than a month. Again, the camera is dead: itโs been thoroughly checked. Again, I have ordered another in hope it will somehow last but after that one dies I will switch to a more professional solution. (I am trying yet again because of the time expended integrating this solution with the vehicles.) I wonder if there is any use for the various screens, which work but are locked to different dead cameras! The concept is great and it works well when it works, but these cameras do not last. The latest one hasnโt even been exposed to bad weather! I appreciate the full refund provided by eRapta for the first dead camera. While it works, this is fine. Iโve just replaced it with a second one because the first one died almost exactly a year after installation. I bought a second one because Iโd hardwired the first one and a direct replacement was easiest. So far as I can tell, a slightly colder than normal winter killed the camera. Of course, one seems unable to just replace the camera or the monitor. This is at best a temporary solution.

It's a $50 backup camera
So it's a $50 backup camera I like the size of the display and the wire is extremely easy to run just make sure you have zipties if this is going on a truck just to keep the wire neat. in the daytime using strictly as a backup camera it works fine nothing fancy. But it's also a $50 backup camera the display feels very cheap and if you want to use it as a rearview mirror which was the main reason i bought it for it falls way short during the day and unusable at night I almost never use it but it would be to much of a hassle to unwire the unit to send it back with all of that said if you want a plug and play BACKUP camera this is a pretty good deal however if you want it to use for a rearview mirror look else where this is definitely NOT a good choice. I uploaded a picture and then a video first part of the video is backing up at night and the second half is of driving at night. Just a heads up the screen looks better at night in the video then it does in real life

Great product (backup camera), great company.
I am extremely happy with the Erapta backup camera. It works wonderfully with crisp, clear screen image. This purchase was the wired backup camera with 7 inch screen. What a wonderful company to deal with. I needed a replacement wire that plugs into the vehicleโs cigarette lighter receptacle. I emailed them and heard back from them within an hour and I received a replacement wire within a week. No fuss, No hassle. This is my third Erapta backup camera that I bought. I have one now for each of my vehicles. The cameras work wonderfully.
