Great for waffle Cones & Cups
The Unit is reasonably priced and easy to use. I Tried the recipe provided by Brentwood in the manual and the waffles cones and cups turned out awesome. You just need to follow the exact steps in the Book. The Recipe described in the book provides a batter of 500ml appx which is good for at least 12 cones. Since the Unit does not come with a timer you need to keep a watch on the baking process. 1) After the batter mixture is done ( I used a kitchen aid stand mixer), wait for 30 mins for the batter to settle ( should look like thick glue finally ;-) ). 2) Heat the unit with the thermostat setting between mid and max. 3) Grease the lower and upper heating plates with a silicone brush and veg cooking oil 4) Put appx 3-4 tbsp of batter using a wooden ladle and close the lid.5) Wait for 90 secs 6) Note : -"Please take care of the Handle while opening it again as the plastic handle is very small and use a Kitchen glove as it is hot", Grease the fried waffle again with a little oil , close the lid and wait for another 70-80 secs till golden brown. 7) Remove the baked waffle with the wooden ladle and place it on clean cloth so that you can simultaneously hold the hot waffle while turning the cone and pinch the end of the cone. 8) Remember to keep the pointed part of conical tool provided slightly away from any of the circular edge of the waffle before you start rolling to get the perfect cone and seal at the bottom ( this has to be rolled real quick in some flat 30 secs ;-) before the waffle starts to harden up. 9) Give the Unit some rest if it does get heated up due to the plastic chassis after 12 cones. 10) you can try mixing a little cocoa powder to get the chocolate feel and get creative with your cones. 11) For the waffle bowls you can try using a tiny bowl for the shapes

Works great, little bit of a learning curve.
Takes a couple tries to get perfect (at least for me) but when you get the hang of it its great. Perfect for making Choco Tacos!

Ok
Difficult to use, settings are confusing. Fragile plastic. Heating surface looks ok, gets hot quick. So I guess it does the job done overall if you don't have an alternative.

Consistent quality of waffle cones
I read reviews before I bought this waffle maker, and I had low expectation, as the price was good. This waffle cone maker is awesome, the instructions are very clear and it has a sample recipe. I used the recipe to create my own vegan gluten free batter, it worked out great. I am really happy with the results. At this price it is a real bargain for the quality you can achieve.

The machine doesn't cook evenly so the outside is undone while the inside is over done.
Too many holes in the cone to use. There are no instructions on how much batter or how to cook the waffle. I used 1/4 cup scoop which worked but if I pressed the lid down to lock it, the batter squeezed out and the inside of the waffle was so thin it had many holes in it including 3 large holes. The waffles have to be thin to wind around the cone. Picking it up out of the machine was difficult. The cone that came with the machine kept spinning while I tried to wind it around it. The lid has only a little handle that you must use with you two fingers. The medium and lower temperatures on the machine only work with a small amount of batter and take up to 25 minutes to cook. The high temperature takes about 9 minutes not the 1-3 it says in the booklet. This machine is more trouble than it is worth. After spending about 3 hours making waffles, I never got even one good waffle cone I could use!

Nonstick perfect
I actually enjoyed this. I had to buy it to make fortune cookies and it’s way cheaper to buy it on here than going to target. it is nonstick already so you don’t have to worry about spraying it and it cooks pretty fast. It has different level so you can set it so it’s great if you’re on a time crunch.

1st time user, learning curve
Keep in mind this was the first time I used this, and I realize there were going to be speedbumps. I'm just explaining my experience. ●Easy to operate. ● Would be nice to have instructions indicate how much batter to use. ●I assumed the batter would be pourable, mine was not. Once I got used to the batter , and got a feel for it & how much, it was okay. ●I suggest placing the batter alittle towards the top (back) from the center of the griddle, as when the lid is brought down it pushes the batter towards the front of the griddle. Helps keep spillages to a minimum. ●I oiled the griddle top and bottom in the beginning, and a couple times throughout the batch. Just poured some veg oil and a couple layers of paper towel and wiped it down. Keep the oil and paper towels handy. ●I found having paper towels nearby was very useful for wiping off my hands, oiling the griddle, and placing over waffles as I rolled them. The waffles can be very hot! ●A wide non scratch utensil for removing the waffle from the griddle would work great (rather than a spoon as indicated in the directions). The waffle when hot is more durable than I thought. ●It's hard to tell the done-ness even after peeking a few times. I assume the more you do it the better you get at perfecting it. ●All of my waffles were whitish in the middle, dark towards the edges. Maybe more perfecting on my part? ●On my griddle when the green light is on, it's hard to see it, it's a white light with a little green on the right & left sides. ●My waffles/cones are pretty fragile, I wouldn't trust them without being served in a bowl. ●When I turned it off, I never saw the green light go off, so I unplugged it. (After a few minutes) ●Overall: I achieved making a batch of waffle cones. I plan on serving them tonight, in a bowl. For the price of the griddle it's not a bad deal. I guess I had a few expectations, may or may not have been out of line. If anyone that has used this has any other helpful hints, I'd be interested in hearing them. Kinda fun.

funciona perfecto para preparar conos y marquesitas, quede fascinada con esta máquina, leí comentarios de que no funciona bien pero creo mucho tiene que ver con hacer una mezcla adecuada y buena técnica... para mi fue una excelente compra =D

I bought this little waffle maker to make flemish split waffles which is similar to Dutch stroopwafels but softer and filled with vanilla butter cream. First try today and I’m amazed and how nice they came out. So easy. I just oiled a bit with avocado oil before starting and it’s great. Nothing to clean. It’s perfect. Next recipe will be belgian lukken which is similar to pizelle but more buttery. Will update after I tried that. But so far so good. I love this waffle maker. And great price. One thing. There is a clasp to lock the iron while baking. I didn’t do that because my waffle needed to raise a bit so I could cut it open. The first one I had it locked and it came out crisp. So just lock it if you want thin crisp waffle cookies.

This should not have been sold on the Amazon uk site by a company called Layger uk. The appliance should be operated on 110volts the whole of the uk is 220volts you would need to purchase an additional expensive adapter . It all feels like a big con, these appliances are not ment for a UK market

Waffle maker is made out of cheap plastic and it was received damaged despite packaging was intact. It's been six weeks now and nobody has refunded my money. I have contacted the seller three weeks ago regarding this matter and I have provided the proof of postage, but no one bothered to reply. Never had such experience on Amazon.

Bought this waffle iron to make Belgium Lutten cookies. Thin waffer cookies. It worked perfect. Set the temperature to high, 50 seconds and perfect cookies. Easy to clean. Just wipe down with a paper towel.
