Bingfu DAB FM Antenna Aerial F Male with Magnetic Base for Stereo Receivers

Well... I wasn't expecting blistering performance due to the cost of this unit but wanted a DAB aerial to bring an old Denon mini system back into use. At my old house reception was rubbish and I needed an external set up to get any DAB at all but in my new place, half a mile up the road, I thought I'd take a punt on trying this before splashing out and drilling holes in walls... Blimey. All digital radio stations crystal clear with this unit hidden behind the TV; no drilling required! I appreciate that RF reception is a bit of a black art and is VERY subjective to location, surroundings and every other consideration possible, but this has worked a treat for me and I'm really happy, not to say relieved that I don't have to puncture the walls of our brand new house. I can recommend this aerial for its simplicity of installation, it's unobtrusive size and it's performance. Comes with adaptors for every conceivable aerial socket I've ever come across and 3m of hardwired cable. Base is a little light to free stand but this can be achieved with fiddling. There's an included robust sticky pad if not. It's definitely worth a punt before breaking out the drill and easy to return if it doesn't help you. I'm happy.

Bought this antenna for my Denon RCD M41. The ribbon antenna provided by Denon was useless and wouldn't even tune into a radio station. The Bingfu antenna has a long lead and after setting it up in different places, I found a suitable spot that gave me around 25 DAB radio stations. Although I don't get the full range of stations, it's a vast improvement from the ribbon cable. The only downside to this antenna is the base is very small and doesn't stand up on it's own, so I've had to use the double sided tape provided to stick it to a bigger base to keep it upright.

Having bought a new Denon RCD-M41DAB micro system I was less than happy when its DAB radio showed “No Service” when fitted with its included wire aerial. This was despite my tiny Sony XDR-P1 portable radio getting decent reception in the same place. Ok, I thought, the Sony’s got a telescopic metal aerial, I’ll fit one of those... that didn’t work either, although it did give an improved FM signal. Then I saw this bit of kit for under £12 and thought I might as well give it a whirl. It works very well indeed, the magnetic base (it also comes with an adhesive pad) allowed me to attach the aerial to the steel base of a speaker mount high up on the wall. I now have a decent choice of 42 DAB stations including BBC R4, which is what I usually listen to. I’m not an expert on electrics but It might matter that the impedance is rated at 50ohm, which matches what’s marked on the aerial socket on my stereo. The telescopic aerial I bought was 75ohm.

it comes with a variety of plugs to go into the back of different sockets on the back, the plain old push fit one works for me - Evan Davis is now clean and crisp again first thing in the morning - reception is really very good . only minor gripe , i would have liked the magnet on the base to be a little stronger as it gets dislodged by everything , all the time ... but that's a minor issue

The "Bingfu DAB FM Antenna Magnetic Base FM Radio Antenna for Denon Pioneer Onkyo Yamaha Marantz Sherwood Indoor Digital DAB Radio FM Radio Bluetooth Stereo Receiver AV Audio Vedio Home Theater Receiver" has an F-Type male connector on a reasonably long 3m lead that is thin and probably not shielded that may help find the best location but also includes adapters for male and female coaxial plugs and sockets as well as a 3.5 mm jack adapter that is thought to be for Bose radios (and possibly others); potentially, all likely attachment needs are met. There is not an included signal booster (a few other brands include one with similar models). The aerial is intended for use with tuners and receivers that have a single socket for both DAB and FM signals. It has a small (approx. 30mm diameter) magnetic base that attaches it firmly to any steel surface; an adhesive pad is also provided should you need to attach it to something for horizontal orientation where that applies or to a non-magnetic surface. The aerial features two 'spring oscillators' that are intended to boost signal strength (one is usual for this style). Recommendation, as is usual for any indoor aerial, is that it be placed close to a window. There are two major DAB/FM radio transmitters each well within an 8-10 Km radius and in different directions; theoretically, reception should be at least very good. However, with the aerial magnetically attached to the top of the receiver and about 50cm from a window, DAB reception was at best bitty with constant warbling; FM reception was only possible in mono - that indicates poor signal strength. When the aerial was inverted and attached below the casing, DAB reception improved to the point that reception was continuous with no warbling but FM reception was not much improved and stereo reception remained impossible. Changing the aerial's location within the scope of its lead only worsened reception. Purchased in the hope of success, its inability to deliver was not a surprise. There is a possibility that a signal booster may improve its performance and one is known to be suitable for use with DAB/FM. That will be something to try later. It was tried with some, but not total, success. Its three included adapters and adhesive pad are loose within the outer bag and could easily be lost when removing the bagged aerial; two fell to the floor unnoticed but were quickly found. A heavier base would also improve its stability. While ineffectual in a North London location, it may work well elsewhere in a less built-up area with fewer encircling tower blocks, less construction work with scaffolding and tower cranes, and without nearby railway lines and heavy local traffic.

Works well but be warned aerial will not stand up without sticking it down with the pad supplied. This makes it a bit silly. As, if you need to move it you can't. I would look elsewhere for an antenna for a dab or FM tuner if you need to do this. It does however work ok if you can find a place to set it permanently.

Excellent design with a magnetic base which I attached to the top of my hi-fi. This gave a great reception straight away without having to faff about trying to find the best position for the strongest signal. I'm actually surprised it works so well and sounds better than my last aerial. Good value and definitely worth a try. Highly recommended.

Ottima antenna radio che ho preso da usare con un piccolo stereo in casa. Funziona bene la ricezione, non è ingombrante ed è abbastanza discreta. Inoltre il filo è anche abbastanza lungo.

Ich bewerte hier die AN-0225, welche im Text ausdrücklich für den Empfang von DAB+ geeignet ist. Zum Einsatz kommt die Antenne an einem Teufel CD-Receiver KD 62, welcher einen Anschluss via SMA ermöglicht. Durch die Beigabe der verschiedenen Adapter sollte die Antenne aber an jedem Receiver / Tuner anschließbar sein. Die Antenne wird indoor, unweit eines Fensters betrieben. "Montiert" wurde sie, in dem sie senkrecht zwischen der Wand und einem Hängeschrank klemmt. Das Problem an den beigelegten Wurfantennen ist meist, dass sie für UKW, als auch DAB+ Empfang geeignet sein sollen. Da es sich meist um einen einfachen Draht handelt, sind keine Anpassungen an die jeweilige Empfangstechnik vorhanden. Dies wird immer dann ein Problem, wenn z.B. das DAB+ Signal am Standort eher schwach ist. Die Wurfantennen sind in den meisten Fällen einfach zu lang (Stichwort Wellenlänge, Lambda, Polarisation, usw.), als dass sie für die Frequenzen von DAB+ geeignet wären. So war es auch bei der Wurfantenne des Teufel Receivers. Etwas Besserung brachte es, ungefähr die Hälfte der Länge der Wurfantenne über einen nicht leitenden Gegenstand zu wickeln. Dadurch verkürzt sich die wirksame Länge der Antenne, der Empfang wurde für DAB+ besser. Optimal war es nicht, aus diesem Grund riskierte ich den relativ geringen Betrag und versuchte es mit der Bingfu. Die Antenne befindet sich im Raum unter eher ungünstigen Bedingungen (s.o.), liefert aber ein sehr gutes Signal an den Receiver. Es ist ein messbare und signifikante Verbesserung zur Wurfantenne. Wie es für den UKW-Empfang aussieht, kann ich leider nicht beurteilen, da ich diesen nicht benötige. Die Verarbeitung der Antenne, sowie des Kabels und Steckers ist einwandfrei. Der Magnetfuß ist eher klein, der Magnet schwach, was für meinen Anwendungsfall aber nicht relevant ist. Es wird ein 3M Klebepad mitgeliefert, so dass man die Antenne auch auf einer Oberfläche ankleben könnte. Von mir also eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
