Vitamin Energy Immune+ (Tango Orange flavor) I’m generally a morning person and just drink coffee for the taste. These are perfect for when I don’t have time or when it’s too hot outside for coffee. The first day I tried one, I drank it at around 8 AM, right after 2 cups of coffee. Bad idea. I was jittery by the afternoon. The next day, I only had 1 cup of coffee before taking the shot around 7 AM, which was fine because I had a big day ahead of me. I actually used it as sort of a pre-workout for a 6-mile run. Then I worked all day and had lots of energy for after school activities. I didn’t get jittery at all, and I slept like a baby. I felt awake and alert both days, without feeling wired. I was able to stay focused on busy days, and experienced consistent energy levels every day that I’ve taken one. Subsequently, I’ve just used them as needed. It’s definitely not something I feel like I have to have every day, but it’s a nice little boost whenever I need it. I was also really happy to find a product that’s made in the USA. Here are some of the things I really liked. Flavor: Day 1, I was hesitant to take big drinks, so I sipped it. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. It’s tangy, but I could definitely detect the orange flavor. I was able to drink it in 2 swallows on the second day because I knew what to expect. There was an aftertaste, but it went away within minutes. Energy boost: I like that they are sugar free, so I didn’t experience a crash a couple of hours later. The energy burst felt really natural, not a surge as I have with other energy shots. And I’ve been really pleased that I seem to have energy all day, not just for a couple of hours. Energy source: I’m an avid coffee drinker, so my body is pretty used to caffeine, but I think by adding green tea extract, the energy boost felt more natural, and I didn’t experience a racing heart like I have with other energy drinks. Added benefits: I definitely don’t get enough vitamins and minerals from food (and I don’t take my vitamins consistently), so I like that these energy shots have added niacin, B Vitamins, and potassium.

The Vitamin Energy Immune+ Energy Shot drink, or VE, is an up-and-coming drink that provides energy benefits to body areas like the gut and immune system. It comes in seven different flavors, each serving its own function. On this occasion, the only flavor that’ll be reviewed is Extra Strength, the orange flavor that's supposed to improve your immune system. I decided to try them two days in a row, on separate occasions. Day one was the first try, and that was done before working out, without food in my system. Day two was the second try, and that was done before working out but with food in my system. I wanted to see if my body would react differently to the shot with and without food in my stomach. On day one, the taste was about what I expected from an energy shot. It wasn’t a sweet orange taste, but more like a better-tasting vitamin. After about 10–15 minutes, I knew I made a mistake by not eating beforehand because my stomach started to hurt. A couple hours later, I felt myself having some sort of reflux, which caused me to pause my workout. After that subsided, there were no other problems or feelings that arose, and I went about my day. Day two was taken about 35 minutes after breakfast and right before working out. I immediately noticed how much better it tasted compared to the day before. There weren’t any problems that arose, and the day went on normally. Compared to other energy shots, like Five Hour Energy, VE does taste better. It does not taste better than drinks like Monster and Red Bull. Those drinks are also not as healthy and have more sugar. I didn’t feel a natural burst compared to other energy drinks. In my opinion, energy drinks don’t usually work for me either way because I’ve always been a morning person. On the second day of taking VE, there were moments where I felt an uptick in performance. My thought processes were the same as usual, and I don’t believe VE impacted that in any way.

The sustained energy rush is for real, as well as the focus factor. The taste was not what I expected; it was more akin to other energy shots with a medicine-like flavor, but I felt the energy boost outweighed the flavor, so I didn’t deduct a star for it. The only objectionable thing I can think of is the price. It’s far too pricey for me to order it again, especially when I just purchased a 48-pack of similarly sized Kirkland brand energy shots from Costco on sale for $30.99. (Regularly $38.99)

This product is nowhere even in the ballpark of other energy shots. Absolutely no results from 6 bottles. Does not even compare with #hr energy. The only good thing is can say it that it does taste good. But nothing else.
