Can anyone tell me the size of the tablet and it it is difficult to swallow?

I think these tablets are too large to swallow. I take a lot of supplements, but I have a limit on the size of the pill that I can swallow. With these tablets, I crush them. Because they have a bitter or chalky taste, I make sure I have some chocolate to to with them to make taking this pill more palatable.

Why does the label say 1250 mg and the pill are 1/3 of that dose?

1250 mg would seem to be the mass of each tablet. Only about 15% of the mass of magnesium malate is the magnesium, which is the nutrient you should be concerned about. The rest is the malate, which carries the magnesium and helps your body absorb it. You want to calculate your dosage on the mass of magnesium, not the mass of the whole tablet. To get 425 mg per 3 tablets means each table is 11.33% magnesium. That is a little less than the 15% mentioned above, so the difference would be the other ingredients that bind the tablet together and perhaps coat it.

Specifically how many mg of magnesium in each tablet

According to the listing on LifeEssentials.com, 3 tablets contain 3.75g of Magnesium Malate Trihydrate. Since this is a compound, it then details 425 mg (142mg/tablet) of Magnesium and 2.5 g (833mg per tablet) of Malic Acid. This is great for people who specifically are needing the benefits of Malic Acid, as this is one of the highest amount I've seen so far per tablet.

My bottle has capsules, so you can't cut it. But fairly easy to swallow anyway.
