A Gem Superfood
I am a crunch fiend and these appease the cruncher in me. I've eaten every type of crunchy food on the shelf and this one is perhaps the best. I thought soy was the devil, but when in looked edamame up on WHFoods website and read their research on Soy and the misinformation on it as well as the thousands of years its been consumed by healthy people, I had a realization that the soy fellow health nuts are bashing is overly processed oils and hybrids. Everything about this product is good. The package is good (ziplock) the spicy wasabi is good (not too spicy...just enough) the edimame is good and the price is good. It seems like this is better than nuts and many other sources of protein and is convenient and travel ready:) I thought I knew everything from sprouts and algae to healthy fats and super foods; I'm glad I just found another gem:)

Delicious, low fat, high protein and vegan!
I think these are great. Healthy and convenient for travel (lightweight). Similar to those wasabi peas but without all the processed ingredients. These are a wonderful and healthy snack with 14 grams of protein in one serving for only a little over 100 calories. They are also vegan. Choosing kindness always feels good.

A Healthy version of Russian Roulette, with a flamethrower
First off, this is a great snack. Loaded with protein, it's a real food (not overly processed), not sugared up, not overloaded with sodium, with relatively few calories for how filling it is -- you don't feel guilty reaching for it. They also taste good, with the one major caveat. The only problem is, like every other review states, the uneven distribution of Wasabi. So, you can go a few handfuls without feeling more than a tingle, and then you grab that one bean. I literally mean ONE bean too, because that's all it takes to get the party started. You won't recognize this one bean from the outside because the coating on all of them is invisible. You will only recognize it when it's inside your mouth burning away the top layers of cells - it's the fire bean. You will find this bean, and you most surely will find it, because there are a few special beans in every package. When you find this one bean it is like a quart of drano down the gullet. That sinus clearing wave of fire that only Wasabi brings. I'm a grown man, appropriately detached from my emotions, and the fire bean has brought me to the point of tears. A withering sobbing wreck, and this is only a slight exaggeration. The burn is like a wasabi burn or Asian food in general though, it passes quickly. Then you'll immediately want to go back to the burn bean lottery, pressing your luck, hoping you can withstand the next barrage.

One of the greatest snacks EVER!
This is without a doubt one of the greatest snacks ever. Nothing like a vegetable that doubles as a COMPLETE protein. That's right - all the essential amino acids that are in meat protein are contained in these. It's a great replacement snack if you are tired of almonds or peanuts. Plus - the wasabi flavour has a nice "burn" up the nose! Reasonable priced when compared to other snack too. Order a box of the plain and a box of the wasabi if you are placing an order because then you get the free super saver shipping and the variety will prevent you from being bored with the snack. This is great stuff and I'll be ordering more in the future for sure.

Great edamame
I've tried other edamame varieties of this brand, and other brands' edamame products too, and this is certainly my fav. I see so many people complaining about the Wasabi distribution, but since edamames are covered with a thin, edible layer (that ends up getting sprinkled with wasabi), the edamames still having that layer intact will be hotter. If you want a milder taste, simply slide the thin layer away by rubbing before eating. But even when I don't bother with that and eat this in handfuls, I rarely get one of those russian roulette shots with this edamame (actually I had that problem way more often with other brands' wasabi edamames). All the packages were extremely fresh and tasty too. I'm certainly sticking with this brand/flavor.

Way too uneven quality
First, I'm an edamame and wasabi veteran - seven years in Japan - and 30 years of Asian food. I also eat Thai food at native level, and few things other than too much Habanero really bother me. In short, I enjoy spicy. That said, I also enjoy good quality - and this product is all over the map. Back when Kroger's carried these, I bought them locally, and in the beginning they were good - decent amount of wasabi (although highly varying levels back then too). Then Kroger stopped selling them, and I turned to Amazon - same quality problem of course - but it is getting worse in the sense that there's almost NO wasabi on the latest batches. My current batch has a best before date of Jan 18, 2015 (ordered on March 30, 2014, today is April 17) so it's not that it's old - just bad quality control. It's a product of China - of course - so I guess someone over there decided to gradually cut back on wasabi to save money - guess what, now there is none left. I have two bags left and will not buy any more. Giving it one star because it isn't what it claims to be - "spicy wasabi" - not spicy, no wasabi. Sayonara Seapoint!

Just as good as wasabi peas!
I've been a long time wasabi pea fan. As a vegan, it's hard to get good shack foods without feeling guilty over how bad they are. I like the idea of dehydrated veggies in wasabi and, after trying this edamame, I was hooked. I'm glad I got the 12-pack box, as I go through 2 to 3 bags a week of these now while working. Nice heat to them, and the flavor profile is rich and decadent. If you're craving a savory and salty snack, this is the one for you.

strong wasabi flavor!
Delicious. I like edamame beans so much. They have a great flavor and amazing crunch. Seapoint knows how to dry roast them without overdoing it and keeping them tasty. This wasabi is very potent! Expect to get a kick of wasabi as if you were eating a fresh serving. It's that good! Not for the weak. Highly enjoy!
