Better than a Dyson ball animal three
Definitely would recommend this vacuum. I’ve had it for a few days now coming from a Dyson ball animal three and this thing has way better suction power because it is a commercial upright. It is a bit loud, but that is common for commercial vacuums because they’re designed for commercial settings. I do love the fact that it takes bags. I don’t have to sit here and wash filters just simply change a bag, but I do recommend if you are an allergy suffer to also order their hyper allergenic bags because it will come with just a standard paper bag. Also love the fact if I have to replace a belt or brush roll, I could just simply order a belt or brush roll. I don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars like Dyson to replace the entire motorhead. It’s very lightweight love the extra long cord. It comes with. It does get tangled up but once you get that untangled. You have a plug it in and forget it. Also, I do love how they kept the traditional design and did not steer away from the original. Oreck look so if you are looking for a reliable vacuum, that is lightweight and that will get your carpets clean I recommend this one and if you do have high traffic areas this vacuum will get it clean as well as ref fluff those areas it’s not gonna be 100% fluffed, but you’ll see some fluff in action.

AWESOME VACUUM. *GREAT* for pet hair, don't listen to the people who say its not good for pet hair.
So I bought this vacuum cleaner as a replacement for a Shark Professional Lift Away canister vaccum. The shark had some issues, namely:1. It had an attachment tube through which all the suction power at some point went. This tube was made of a material that kept cracking and we had to duct tape it. In the end it was more tape than tube and this led to a loss of suction.2. I was absolutely SICK of emptying the canister and digging out pet hair and inhaling the dust and cleaning the filter etc. It was nasty. My wife and I made a deal for the housework. She would do the downstairs and I the upstairs. Since the upstairs is 100% frize carpet, the vacuum quickly became a point of contention for me.I did my research (A LOT OF IT) and came to Oreck. I didn't feel like shelling out 500+ dollars for one of the super top of the line home versions that are aesthetically pleasing and instead opted to pocket the cash and buy this workhorse for 150 bucks. And I am IMPRESSED.We have 3 dogs and a cat. The dogs are a Siberian Husky, a German Shepard, and a St. Bernard. Needless to say we a have a LOT of pet hair. Some reviewers have mentioned that they didn't think the oreck was effective for this. These people are lying to you. Our carpets are now amazingly clean. This thing sucks up debris and pet hair like nothing I've ever seen. Its a BEAST. And its lightweight. The bags hold a LOT and when its time to change them out you just pull em, toss em and replace em.They are cheap. I've been through 2 in a month and got a 25 pack for like 15 bucks. Get the scent tabs. You can really smell them at first, after the first couple of days you cant smell anything, which hopefully is the point. Some people have mentioned a burning rubber smell when they started using the vaccuum. I noticed this too, but I think it is just a burn in phenomenon as it quickly went away. The replacement and maintenance parts (belt/roller) are both on amazon for under 10 bucks. I expect to change the belts and rollers on occasion and have this vacuum for a decade. It doesn't have any attachments. it just cleans the carpets and floors superbly well. We've used it downstairs on wood and rugs and tile with no issues and it has pulled up loose pet hair and cat litter with no problems.Give it a go. Best vacuum I've ever owned. See pictures for pet hair effectiveness.

Commercial Cleaning Business
I purchased the Oreck Commercial XL Vacuum Cleaner for my commercial cleaning business, and it has exceeded my expectations. Since I clean office buildings on a regular basis, I needed a vacuum that could handle daily use while being lightweight and dependable. This vacuum has been exactly that. One of the biggest advantages is how lightweight it is. Carrying it between offices and around large workspaces is easy, and it doesn't leave me feeling worn out after a long day. It has excellent suction power and does a great job picking up dust, dirt, and everyday debris from commercial carpets, leaving them looking clean and refreshed.I also appreciate how easy it is to maneuver around office furniture, desks, and tight spaces, which helps me work more efficiently. Even with frequent use, it has remained reliable and continues to perform like it did when I first purchased it.If you're looking for a durable, high-performing vacuum for commercial cleaning or even a large home, I highly recommend the Oreck Commercial XL. It's built for everyday use, saves time on the job, and has become an essential part of my cleaning equipment.

Great vacuum except needs a tool attachment
Love the simplicity & lightness & definitely love not having a canister anymore, bags are so much easier. One starcoff because I didn't think about the inconvenience of not having any tools at all & so not able to vacuum along edges, under cabinets & furniture - this is 2026...update the design & add a way to do that & it would be perfect!

Top Notch as Always
I had my last Oreck for 21 years. So, of course when I broke it, I bought another. I broke my old Oreck, it didn’t break itself. The motor was still running strong. I had replaced a couple parts over the years, but once again, things that we broke … puppy chewed through power cord, etc.Okay, on to my review of my new one! I love it just as much and believe there is no other vacuum on the market that could keep up with pet hair in our home. We have three German Shepherds (very heavy shedders, over 100 lbs each) that live inside with us. We also have two twenty pound, long haired cats. I thoroughly vacuum with my Oreck daily, and run my robot vac in between. This new Oreck sucks the pet hair and sand (we live in rural Florida on dirt road and driveway) out of our rugs like a champ! People who are saying this is not like the old Oreck quality are mistaken. I used my old Oreck one day and this new one the following evening, and the new one is actually stronger! I vacuum so often, I know exactly how my rugs look after on pass with each.To address some other negative reviews -It’s not too loud! It’s equally as loud as any vacuum. If you want silence, use a broom. I prefer to vacuum all hard floors, as sweeping throws a lot of dust particles into the air to breathe, and I have dust allergies and asthma. As a side note to that, owning an Oreck has vastly improved my quality of life, as it vacuums so deeply. My asthma has been under control since owning one - 21 years.Another complaint I read is that the cord is too stiff and thick. Well, it’s a powerful vacuum, the cord needs to be heavy duty to be safe! And over time, it relaxes, making it quite easy to wrap.Other people are saying this vacuum is heavy! It’s not heavy at all. It only starts to get heavy with all the crap it pulls out of your carpets and off your floors - much more than other brands. You are only supposed to let the bag get about 1/3 of the way full before changing. And by that time, it contains quite a few pounds of dirt, dust, sand, hair, and whatever else.If my grandma self, with some physical disabilities can lift it, anyone can.And finally, I have read that the cord it too long. This was the most shocking because it’s something I always loved about my Oreck. I don’t have to change outlets as often. In my opinion, the long cord is a pro, rather than a con.I did wait a week before writing this review, and I will absolutely update it if, for some reason, things go south with my new Oreck.I also absolutely adore the patriotic colors! I hated to see my pretty yellow one go, I was very happy to not have to get plain gray. I also like that the bag on the new one is a dust proof material, unlike the old fabric ones. Great improvement!Unlike most people, I love vacuuming. I am sort of a vacuum connoisseur. I have tried out many other vacuums, as my adult daughters purchased them. They all own Orecks now, after going through lots of others. And I was older when I got my first Oreck, so had used plenty others in my life. Here is a test to do that originally sold me on my first one -Thoroughly vacuum your home with your old vacuum. Get the floors, carpets, and rugs to the place where you think there is nothing left down there. Put a brand new bag in your Oreck and go over it all again. You will be shocked at what comes out of a “clean” floor!

No Issues - Strong Performer
This is an old school vacuum cleaner that works extremely well. Blows away the over-engineered plastic cyborg vacuum cleaners. Long cord. Easy maneuverability. Relatively light weight.

Best Vacuum, and Best Value!
The Oreck Vacuum is the best there is! This purchase is my 4th one. My first one was 25 years ago, and it would still be running if the kids had not vacuumed toys with it while cleaning their rooms. I think except for the wider XL21, and the newest models with a Dyson-style swivel hinge, which I would not want, that all the Orecks are basically the same great design and performance. The home models have headlights, two speeds, and shorter power cords. The commercial models have one speed, low profile for getting under furniture, and much longer and better power cords. My Berber carpet is 20 years old. I vacuum it daily. I see some aging, but people still comment that the carpet looks like new! The Orecks are noisy with the 6500 rpm brush-roller speed. The speed and quality of the brush-rollers are key to its excellent cleaning performance. I read about all vacuums before buying Oreck #4. They all indicate they are loud. I wear soft foam earplugs when doing many household chores, including vacuuming. The coffee grinder, the blender, the lawn mower, and several of my carpentry and auto tools are way louder than the Oreck. I wear ear plugs for all of those noisy tools. But back to the Oreck, to me, it's performance that counts, and I wouldn't buy anything other than an Oreck! This new Oreck is the lowest price I have seen at $179 on Amazon. I paid $325 + tax for it's red predecessor at a vacuum store. The two vacuums are identical except for color!!! My Oreck's #2 and #3 are still like new with maintenance of the belt and brush roller (very inexpensive parts on Amazon, three times the cost in a vacuum store). I gave them to my now adult children as they moved to college apartments. Now about the filter bags. Oreck makes the best filter bags made. The commercial bags do a good job, but my daughter has asthma, and I prefer the Oreck hypo-allergenic bags. They are referred to as HEPA by some. The commercial bags are good, they are blue, and less expensive. The hypo-allergenic filter bags are greenish, and they have layers of filter media in the replaceable filter bag. I think the hypo-allergenic bags are the greatest. Oreck commercial vacuums take bags "without filter docks". Those "docks" where the filter bag attaches are a special contraption that showed up on a few home models. This commercial vacuum has a regular filter connection port, and does not have a "dock" for the filter attachment. The commercial vacuum has the traditional, non-docking, filter connection port that the non-docking filter bag snaps onto. The filter bags seal to the port with a rubber-elastic seal that does not leak! For the commercial vacuum, I recommend green hypo-allergenic filter bags, and you need the traditional bags, not the bags that are designed for a "dock" contraption. CAUTION NOTE. This is a 5-star product, without any doubt. Read the astonishing and excellent reviews! I'm not the only Oreck enthusiast! HOWEVER it is disappointing to me that the blue Oreck in the picture is different than the actual vacuum I received. Mine has a gray bag, with the broad white diagonal stripe across the bag with "Oreck Commercial" emblazoned on the banner. The one in the picture is much nicer looking. My disappointment is not in the vacuum quality or performance. My disappointment is that I have to believe the seller knows the difference between the pictured vacuum and the one he is providing, and I suspect the one in the picture is a newer model than one I received, but I'm not sure. I expect the sellers to provide what they show. And I suspect they know exactly that they are picturing something different than they are providing. With that said, this Oreck is OUTSTANDING, and this is the lowest price I have seen on this vacuum. It cleans like a miracle, and I am VERY PLEASED! The long cord on the commercial vacuum is worth a lot to me. I plug it once by the stairway, and do the whole house without moving the cord. It also has soft wheels which are quieter on the hard floors than older models. The commercial cord is bigger around and the vacuum will not go over it and wrap it up in the motor like some of the smaller non-commercial cords. I also like the new style non-marring bumpers that really don't mark walls or furniture that get bumped. IT'S A GREAT VACUUM!

Good, but limited lifetime
I like these vacuum cleaners. Easy to use and store. Great suction. This is my forth one. They only last about 5 years, then some part of the electrical system malfunctions, either the plug, the wire going into the handle, or the power switch.

Wished for better
I had a high expectation when buying this vacuum due to the positive reviews. But I was a bit disappointed because this vacuum doesn’t work well on all carpets and very loud noise. So be mindful of that when you’re ready to get one in shaa Allaah.
User
Love it.
Had one before and they are brilliant so.light easy to.use and you don't have to empty the bag every 5 mins. This one is very noisy, but I am still happy.

Liked mine so much, but one for my elderly parents
Pros:-Made in USA-Suction-Very lightweight/easily maneuverable-Can easily get under furniture-bag can hold a lot of dirtCons:-It's noisy.-Wish it had a way to disconnect the hose from the vacuum so I could have a suction tool/hose for hard to reach areas. This is a no frills, purpose built commercial vacuum. Like the headline says, I liked mine so much, I bought one for my elderly parents. I love the suction on this vacuum. It will get the majority of debris in one pass on carpet and tile. Makes the job of vacuuming a breeze. I also love the light weight, handle ergonomics and maneuverability. They don't make vacuum cleaners like this anymore. This one is built to last. I would recommend!!!
