Is it the price for just 1 box?

As of July 2019 there is a one box option for $1.57 as an add-on purchase. Amazon usually allows multiples of add-on items to be purchased so using that option four boxes would be cheaper than the "four box" option. These look like a neat box for old-work use, I am more familiar with the blue old-work boxes but these look to be more securely fastened than those.

Can it be mounted vertically or horizontally?

You can adjust your wall framing to mount it horizontally, vertically, or any angle in-between, but that defeats the purpose of an "old work" box.. One long side can attach to the framing member, the short sides cannot. Assuming you're attaching it to a vertical wall stud, it will attach to the right hand side of the stud when oriented exactly as pictured; rotate it 180 degrees to attach to the left side. Rotate 90 or 270 degrees to attach to a horizontal framing member.

Does this product come in a larger volume i.e. 20 cu.in. or more?

20 cu. In. Is basically a single gang box . That’s what I purchased .
