Good value for the money - QUIET!
I needed an inline fan to remove odor from a storage closet and provide airflow. Used this system with the filter on the intake to the inline fan, with the 4" dryer vent line running out of the closet at the top - where I installed a 4" dryer vent flapper valve horizontally. The system works well. The fan controller is variable speed. At MAX speed, you can hear it .... but it's not a distracting level, it's running smoothly, and the odor was gone from the closet (12 feet wide, 3 feet deep by 9 feet high) within an hour of turning the fan on. The fan runs on a timer and is pretty much a 'plug and play' event. Used the two included banjo clamps for the dryer vent line on the exhaust of the fan, and to secure the vent hose to the flapper valve. The filter is a SOLID piece of equipment with no compressibility - that means the hose clamp would not have secured it to the inlet to the air handler. I did NOT 'suspend' filter and air handler ... they sit on a shelf in the closet. I put a piece of duct tape around the filter to fan connection point to stop any air leaks. Supported the filter with a small piece of wood to keep it at the same level as the fan. Works great. How ever you decide to hook it up - remember there is only TWO banjo clamps provided - plan accordingly. I didn't need another one ... I hope someone sells a replacement filter cartridge for this setup.

Great service
I didn't install it in my grow cabinet until about six weeks after receiving and everything went great. The day after I fired it up the motor started to get noisy on low with a hearty vibration on high. I emailed customer support and after a few days they refunded that portion so I could order a new one with no down-time, and I really appreciate a company that stands behind their product. The install would have been straightforward except that I was mounting it in an 18" x 24" cabinet (doing my first grow on the cheap!) but it all fit with some creativity. Tip - be careful how you mount the fan especially because in my case I had a tough time getting it back out to troubleshoot, but for most setups it should all be a snap. All the mounting hardware is included and solid and no matter how high-quality the design is a percentage will have an issue, so to me the noise was no big deal since they took care of it. Five stars, Vivosun!

Noisy / Not Properly Balanced Impeller/ 4yr Life? New models wt better motor?
I just recently (06/25) replaced the fan unit from this kit that I purchased here on Amazon July 26, 2021. The complete kit was on sale for what is normally the price for just the fan - $59.49. From the beginning, the blower unit showed enough vibration that I couldn't use the included wall mount and had to resort to laying it on a cushioning bag of fiberfill on the top of the grow tent as a vibration damper. I needed the clearance inside the enclosure, so although hanging it may (or may not have) transmitted the vibration from the unit through the frame as badly as it did through the wall bracket, it wasn't an option. Laying on the fiberfill, the noise was reduced to a tolerable level, and the unit ran 24/7 at full RPM for just-a-month-shy of a full 4 years. Running the blower with the intake hose removed the imbalance of the impeller and the amount of deflection from centered was clearly visible. Still, there was enough clearance between the red impeller and the venturi that this did not interfere with the function of the unit. At 195 CFM, it has good suction and air could be felt processing through the filter on the exhaust end. However, starting at the beginning of 2025 the fan suffered from reduced RPM / CFM and sounded strained. I regularly clear the intake impeller of any airborne particulates that might accumulate on the impeller blade edges, so I removed the intake venturi and the white center screw to unmount the blade. The blade itself was free of accumulate. The shaft of the motor, on the other hand, was difficult to turn. The motor in question in my July 2021 model does not look like the current depictions that suggest a multi-field induction or EC motor. I recognize the motor as a variant of the type of small wire wound motor that had been used for decades in household refrigerators to circulate the air in and from the freezer. These motors are ideal in a sub-freezing environment as the motors and bearings are literally cooled by the freezer environment. As such they could run for 10-20 years before the bearings run dry or wear - and even then, I have 'resurrected' many that were seized or binding by re-oiling with lightweight synthetic oil at the bearing endcaps. In the case of the VivoSun motor, it was run in non-refrigerated environment. The bearings were thirsty and did bring back the RPMs upon replenishment, but the imbalanced impeller had also worn the actual sleeved bearing and shaft surfaces so that the amount of deflection, now caused the freely spinning fan to strike the inside of the plenum -resulting in chattering at full speed and dramatic vibration at reduced speeds. I have seen a number of others complain about this fan (even as separate from this complete kit). Unless the manufacturer has corrected the balance issue with the red intake impeller, and replaced the refrigerator evaporator style motor with something more substantial, noise / vibration will be an issue along with potential early replacement. I chose to try a 4" Vevor EC motor fan unit for about the same pricepoint and so far it is immediately quieter with no significant vibration. It also uses less than half (23w) of the power of this one (59w). Since I also have extensive experience with major household appliances using EC motors, I know that the motor control circuitry is a weak point so it will remain to be seen if it will outlast the nearly 4 years life of this unit - but it's already worth it in how quietly it moves its 205CFM vs 195 from this noisier unit.

grow tent . 2x2x4 foot it is made for, I'd go with the 6 inch if I go any bigger on the tent size.
very easy to set up, very nice I got it running off the hub A22, and it kicks off and on as it should set to recipe light weight easy to work with .

Worked perfectly, quiet
This unit worked perfectly for the 4'x6'x2' enclosure we have it in, basically eliminating odor. I read a few reviews saying people thought it was loud. However it is basically the same volume as a good quiet bathroom exhaust fan, even on full speed. It's been going a few months now and no issues.

Be real
This is great for a two by two. Speaking of two I’m 42. I had a 5 foot tall 120 pound activated carbon filter with a 600cfm fan. This isn’t that, but that cleaned a bedroom 12 feet by 15 feet and I DISNT HAVE DUCTING. Ducting decreases the suction, length of ducting decreases suction, age of filter decreases suction... But you can shake the filter like you’re making a martini and reorient the pieces and viola you have a like new filter. This is fine for a two by two mom tent where you don’t need it. Unless you bloom a 2 by 2 tent in which case it will expertly bent hot air and draw in cool air , and then when you need it it will clean the stank. I remember spending 800 on the super cleaner, I could have had a dozen dead bodies in that room and no one would have smelled it if I had company. This is the same, for a 2 by 2. I grew my weight, listen or don’t. Just like pumps that lose power proportional to the height water is pumped, take into consideration total length of ducting and area of vent needed, but accordingly.

You need 3 clamps and 2 sections of tubing
3 clamps are needed for the tubing and the tubing should come in 2 sections. Since this is sold as a kit this negatively impacted my score on ease of install. Now I understand all the comments about needing duct tape for one section. One section to connect the filter to the intake and the other section to go from exhaust to out of tent! Also no hangars were provided for the fan so I improvised using the provided base. It’s noisier than expected and the fan says it can only be turned on at full speed. I take that to mean it might not come on with a timer if not set on highest, loudest setting

Works for small tent
This blower puts out a good amount of sound for the CFM it puts out. It works well for a small tent and was easy to set up. Good value.
