I bought this shampoo because my hair is thinning. I used it before and should never had stopped. My hair is so much stronger. The texture is different also, in a good way though. Its like squeaky clean, but not dry at all. I do use a tiny bit of conditioner on the ends of my hair. If your hair is thinning you should really try this shampoo. My hair was coming out in globs. When I showered I would have a huge amount of hair in the drain. I really thought I was going bald. I started using this shampoo and within a few weeks , maybe 3 or 4 weeks my hair is so much stronger. There is no hair in the drain anymore. Im really happy I found this shampoo. Its a bit pricey but we'll worth it. I also googled what is the best shampoo for thinning hair and this came up 3rd.

I've been using this shampoo for a while and really enjoy the experience. It leaves my scalp feeling cool and refreshed after every wash, which is especially nice after a long day. The shampoo lathers well, rinses out easily, and leaves my hair feeling clean without drying it out. The refreshing sensation makes my scalp feel healthier and more comfortable. I also like that it has a light, clean scent that isn't overpowering. Overall, it's a pleasant shampoo to use and has become a regular part of my hair care routine. I'm very satisfied with the results so far.

This smells great and works great

I Ordered this for my daughter, who is 18, and who has suffered from hereditary "pilar cysts" that form on her scalp. She has other scalp issues, possibly related to her Hashimotos Thyroiditis, that have been causing inexplicable hair shedding and an overall overactively oily and inflamed/dandruff afflicted scalp since age 9. I have tried many things including prescription, detergent-like shampoos that have not helped much with the hair loss and scalp. However, I find it very interesting that her pilar cysts, which usually had to be surgically removed, have begun to remedy on their own since using this product. There are two things I can possibly attribute this to: 1. Using an otc "hair vitamin" that contains biotin (she has used these before and never had much effect, and never affected the cysts) 2. This shampoo. As I said, she has suffered with these cysts for a decade and tey never remedy themselves, and always get to the point where we have to regrettably have them surgically removed by a dermatologist. She had one just "burst" on its own (did not notice, just saw a small scab that took a few weeks to go away). Now, a second one, which ironically reappeared after two surgical interventions in the same spot, has begun to soften and look similar to the one that had burst. I am hoping that this shampoo is the reason and that it is somehow causing the cysts to break down. This is just my theory, but if you suffer from these blasted awful things, you will know that if it can save you from a trip under the knife, it would be great. The cyst that ruptured healed as well or better than the surgically excised ones she has had. As far as a shampoo, while I do not see a huge difference in hair growth or dandruff, her oily hair is cleaner and healthier looking post use. I do not bother with the mousse-like step of this program or the conditioner, which is not very detangling. The shampoo is great. Nice scent that isn't bothersome or overly medicinal and it lathers very well on her very thin hair, making it easier to clean the scalp.

I have a good head of hair but it's thinning when I wake up in the morning it's all over the place for the first time I use this shampoo my hair wasn't all over the place I could just tell my hair felt different it had extra body to it hard to explain incredible

This has 100% helped with my hair loss. At the beginning of this year I was noticing a huge increase in the amount of hair in my brush as well as just falling out in the shower while washing. I started using this shampoo along with a higher price point conditioner Shu Uemura Izumi Tonic Conditioner and have noticed a huge change in the amount of hair I am losing. I would say I went from an alarming amount (like talking to my doctor) to what I would consider normal hair shedding. The smell isn’t wonderful and the review that says it smells like your coworker who smokes Newports on their lunch break then chews gum to hide the smell is somewhat accurate. Pair it with a nice smelling conditioner and that smell is totally gone. I would say the high quality conditioner is key though to the success because with this shampoo alone I think it would make my hair really dry. Overall very happy with the results as part of an effective duo!

I didn’t know which one of these products to get cause I’m not sure my hair was falling as much as it’s changed in strength, was breaking off in the brush, and got so thin that you could kinda see through to my scalp when the sun hit it. That was really freaking me out and making me self-conscious. They need to warn you about all these crazy post menopausal surprises. Anyway after using this for about two weeks I feel like I have my old head of hair back. I’ve always had fine hair but now it feels stronger and because it plumped the individual hairs up I don’t have that weird ‘through to the little pink scalp’ thing going on in the sunlight. It’s a noticeable improvement. Some reviewers had mentioned that it dries out your hair but in my case even though my hair is very fine it also gets very oily so I actually get an extra day before I have to wash my hair with this shampoo. So to clarify I can go three days without it looking oily. So for someone who already has dry hair this might be a problem but for somebody with oily hair like me this is fantastic. No hair breakage. Still feels silky. I also have skin sensitivity and this has not bothered my scalp at all. This is my new shampoo going forward.

I'm amazed to say, this shampoo really does make hair look thicker and helps a good deal to obscure thin patches on the scalp. I'm usually very skeptical about product claims, but I'm delighted to say I was mistaken to doubt this product. I've been using it for about two months, and after just one month, the thin patches on my scalp were considerably less noticeable; two months in, running my hands through my hair, I can even feel that it's thicker. I've read that the ingredients in these products don't actually promote new hair growth, but rather, enhance the hair shafts to make them appear thicker. However it works, it decidedly works, and works better than I ever expected. I use the shampoo with the conditioner from the same Nioxin system. I've tried the leave-in serum, too, but I'm less enthusiastic about that product. When they tell you to wash, condition, and then use the serum, what they DON'T mention is that the serum - not surprisingly come to think of it - temporarily stiffens your hair, so that unless you're accustomed to styling your hair in some inflexible, "wet-look" style, your hair will not be styleable in the way you'd usually prefer. From what I've read, the ingredients in the serum don't really do anything more than what the shampoo and conditioner do, so I'm not using the serum any longer. But the shampoo and conditioner are very effective, and for now, I don't see myself using any others any time soon. The price is not ridiculous, and the two products are worth it. I'm going to post this review for the conditioner, as well.
